nzeobi: How can a man who refused to pay gratuities since 2017 and refused to do any road since then not be cautioned.
All he does is travel to USA and spend 3 weeks and come to anambra and spend a month and then he is off again.
As for those hailing him for building airport, why not tell what he did in healthcare, education and agriculture. He inherited big sums of money but is now leaving terrible dept.
The amount Peter Obi used to clear pensions and gratuity is 35 billion naira and that amount could have built 3 airports.

oboy3: President Goodluck Jonathan has promised to go on exile if he fails to build the Second Niger Bridge before completing his term in 2015. The Nigerian leader made the promise in his remarks at a Town Hall Meeting held yesterday in the commercial city of Onitsha as part of activities marking his one-day visit to Anambra State. During the visit, Jonathan commissioned several projects, including the oil production facilities of Orient Petroleum at Aguleri, the massive SABMiller Brewery at Onitsha and the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu Gateway in Onitsha. The issue of Second Niger Bridge naturally came up during the Town Hall Meeting since Jonathan had during his campaigns for the 2011 presidential ballot promised to construct the bridge if elected President. Experts have warned that the existing bridge constructed in 1965 may collapse any time in view of the heavy traffic. Speaking yesterday at the Town Hall Meeting, the Nigerian leader said that “when the first bridge was built, it was during the presidency of Nnamdi Azikiwe; the second Niger bridge will be built under the presidency of Azikiwe Jonathan.” To further reassure the people, the President said he would go on exile on the completion of his term if he does not build the bridge. To convince his audience that serious efforts are being made to build the bridge, invited Works Minister Mike Onolomemen and Finance Minister Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala to brief the people on what was being done about the construction of the bridge. Onolomemen reeled out the technical details about the design of the bridge and the companies bidding to construct it, while Okonjo-Iweala unfolded details about the financial arrangements being made to construct the bridge. At the end of the meeting, some of the participants, among them businessman Prince Arthur Eze were so thrilled that they urged President Jonathan to seriously consider seeking re-election in 2015. *Photo (courtesy Afripol) shows President Jonathan, flanked on the left by Governor Peter Obi, waves at the crowd on his way to Onitsha. Politics › Re: Ayade: Why We Are Building Airport With Longest Runway In Nigeria by 3pointsagree: 9:12pm On Nov 04, 2021 |
Ayade001: The need to stamp Cross River nay Nigeria on the world tourism map is the major driving force behind the ongoing construction of the Obudu International Passenger and Cargo Airport, so says Cross River state governor, Professor Ben Ayade.
The Obudu Airport is situated close to the iconic Obudu Mountain Resort.
Ayade expressed optimism that the airport project will be completed in a record time.
According to him, "it is important for Nigerians to know why we are constructing the Obudu International Passenger and Cargo Airport in Obudu.
"We want to make the issues of tourism in Nigeria start and end in Cross River State with Obudu Ranch Resort, Honeymoon Resort and the airport as a flagship.
"That is why we are building the airport with 5.6 runway, the longest in Nigeria to enable both tourism and business thrive around the Ranch environment with the airport"
On progress of work at the airport, the governor said: "We started March 2021 and the stage we are now is impressive with major requirements on ground ,and we are almost done in terms of other utilities like the observation tower which is at the last stage.
"The fire fighting and utility buildings are at the last stage and the main terminal building almost completed .
"The cutting of the hard terrain of the airport is by no means a small job and the federal government should come and look at what we are doing with serious attention.”
Describing the airport as the "link between the South and Northern Nigeria just as the Superhighway and Bakassi deep seaport", he invited the federal ministry of Aviation to the site to access the progress of work.
The Cross River state Governor commended the Minister for Aviation, Hadi Sirika for promising to support the cargo wing of the airport with facilities when operational.
Also speaking, Senior Special Adviser On Technical Matters to the governor, Eric Akpo assured that given the level of work at the airport, the April 2022 completion target was achievable. |
