Castalia: 'Have you been issued any visa for the UK, UK Overseas Territories or Commonwealth Country in the last 10 years?'
Please I have a concern about this question above in the visa application form.
The part that says 'Commonwealth Country'... Does that mean all the common wealth countries - inclusive of South Africa, Canada, Australia and even Nigeria?
Someone asked the same question bout a page or two away... The answer given is Yes.

Hope this helps.

Vicjustice: Well, perhaps you're right when you said a 6 grader can understand your writing manners, but I'm not a 6 grader.
As for your argument, if you do not understand that the chief concern of a visa officer is the potentiality of an applicant to breach the conditions of a visa (whilst in their country) therefore, a person who had been issued a visa and did not use it stands a reasonably better chance in subsequent visa application, having won the trust of the visa officer that s/he is not desperately seeking a means to travel out...
Despite all your long epistles, you still haven't provided a link or any evidence to back up your bogus claim that it is a CRIME if someone changes his mind from travelling abroad
Didn't insinuate that it was a CRIME; didn't just agree that there's, in your own words, "ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO INFORM THE [ISSUING] EMBASSY".
But you know what, no need going round this. I'm done. Stick to what you know. It's all good. smiley (y)

Cheers.

I've attached screenshots of the mails I exchanged with the visa officer. I apologise once again if it's a bit illegible. You can zoom in on them.
I labelled them A to O. Read N carefully and see the likeliness of any issues. Then decide for yourself whether or not to make any move.

Vicjustice: I can only wonder how you manage to have the energy to write such long analysis howbeit with such incomprehensible manners of writings : I'm sorry, I can't go through such long narration that is not reader friendly.
You seem to be talking about your personal occasion, but I don't see how such represents the official regulation, I will therefore appreciate if you can point out the context where it is stated that a visa holder MUST TRAVEL with it or that s/he must inform the embassy in the event that s/he is not travelling...
It is not enough to give your personal tale which probably lacks crcredibility: i would rather see where it is declared that it is a violation to NOT use a visa.
That's rather rude, Vicjustice. Even a 6th-grader will read and understand what I've written so if it's incomprehensible to you, seek further assistance. If you've written a thesis, blogs, newsletters or the likes, grasping some energy to write "long analysis" would be a work-over. But all the same, I smile at ur comment and I'm not offended.

Very many people know that we learn from experiences, either ours, or others we come in contact with. If my personal experience is similar to the poster's, of course I will share it. I was only shocked you could suggest that there was "ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO INFORM THE [ISSUING] embassy" (such a powerful sentence to make, like that's coming from the Visa Officer). Its still incredible to believe you wrote "...in fact, it will (most likely) work to your advantage the next time that you make a visa" and I'm curious to know how; pls educate my limited mind.

However, it's your prerogative to hold on to what you know, and refute other information. That's absolutely fine by me. Last last, the onus lies with the poster to rethink his/her next action(s) after reading various responses, not only on nairaland, but other related forums.

kkokoma: ...so I decided not to travel.

Please I will attach images of the same mails I talked about previously. I hope they arelegible enough. They are true copies but for personal bios that have been hidden. You can decide for yourself. Perhaps all embassies are different, perhaps I'm different from you. Lol.

All the same, it's your calling. cheesy

Greenfriend: Would have advised U 2 make it simple enough 4 observation. Moreover, most Fair & White products are overhyped & slow in action. Coupled with the predominant Hydroquinone-filled serum that abounds in Nigeria (that calls for a sunscreen 2 avoid a repigmentation). Thumbs up for ur mix (Carotein serum and 55H+ Glycerin). U will be my fine pupil

Yeah that's right. But you know sometimes, some of these things work hand in hand.
Btw, I'm not using the F&W with hydroquinone. Mine is he Kojic Acid brand. I live in UK so that's what we get here.

Buttergrey: This is what we stock. Nothing but the original sweetie
Ok this one is fine. Can rarely find it here again. Ordered it but the bss phone back to say its out of stock. That was to be in my mix, with the oil, in place of the F&W but as they say, "when the desirable is not available, the available becomes the desirable".

Vicjustice: There is absolutely no reason to inform the embassy, and there is no negative implication for not using a visa, in fact, it will (most likely) work to your advantage the next time that you make a visa application
Chai! VicJ, na you write this or ur account was hacked?
Are you serious about the boldedhuh
Tell u what yeah, you are wrong. Why do I say so?

2009, I got a Schengen multiple visa (6 months) to attend a conference in Finland, and visit two other states (as I put in my application). Now, when I applied for it, the attendant told me it'll take 15 days, I pleaded with her that the conference date was near, she assured me that the best she could do was that I'll be ready for collection on my proposed travel date, I should ring them by 12 on that day.
I remember putting up at some hotel in Knightsbridge on the dday so I could zap to sloane square, pick it up n head for Gatwick. Rang'em for 12, dey said it wasn't ready, reminding me that they are waiting for response from the other states (which I wanted to visit) and dat I should call back by 3 pm. I did n it was ready, so I rushed, picked it up, (silly me) was dashing back to pick up me stuffs from hotel n head for Gatwick but when I checked time, there was no way I'll meet the 4:30pm flight I booked with my colleagues. Immediately, I went online on me phone and without thinking, I purchased a "use-now-or-never" ticket on SAS for 6:45 @ heathrow so I would still meet them up. But trust London traffic, 'twas crazy even to get to the underground.
Needless to say, I missed the flight as well. I sobbed cos of the money paid. Still bent on attending the conference, I bought another Easyjet ticket for the next day (they were the cheapest for nxt day).

Left the hotel n arrived Gatwick WELL IN TIME, even had time to move up n down searching for Easyjet to Finland. Was den told it was in the south wing n I was in the north wing.
Flight was in the next 30 mins, shuttle bus (or train can't remember...) comes every 3 mins, takes 5 mins to get there, I think. That's about 12-15 mins connection time gone. And then, the Almighty security point. I even jumped the queue, agreed for them to toss in the bin anything I shouldn't carry and that would delay me from gettin on that flyt. By the time I reached my boarding gate, I saw my plane pull out from the hangar. I just sat down on the floor, rang me sister and cried my pain out to her on phone cos that was over £350 spent for a conference I didn't even spend up to that amount for.
Probably I wasn't meant to get on that conference- it's some "gender/freedom to date any sex" discourse. I was done trying to force myself to get there. No more spending!!! My big sister consoled me, promising me a trip to France on her head (she felt my pain).

I wrote the visa officer Mxxxa Axx, explaining my predicament and that Ive given up on going for the conference cos of the expenses, would wanna cancel the visa cos I don't want problem if I use the visa to travel to the other states I wanted to, and to France soon. I wouldn't mind reapplying at the other embassy (I sounded pathetic. Pay another £50 for the same type of visahuh I sure wasn't thinking then. Lol)

she wrote me back saying it was ok after all, I applied for multiple visa, bla bla, n Finland is a lovly place so I should try visiting someday, bla bla.

2 years later, I had a family trip to Spain for 6 days. All siblings and parents had their visa. I had a long Schengen multiple that was to expire two days after our travel date. Was quite confused bout the overstaying thing n didn't wanna take chances so I opted to apply for a bumper Schengen to cover the remaining days i'll be in Spain. Travel date was in two weeks, Spanish embassy needed 15 days (non negotiable, thanks to vfs) only option was to go thru another country. Tried Malta, u need appointment, tried Greece, Czech Rep. OYO, Germany, Belgium, France, Denmark, Amsterdam, Sweden, call dem all, they were vfs candidates so no need. My last option was Finland cos I know their visa na sharp sharp if u let them know how urgent it is (it's the embassy gongon, no agent like vfs).

Boom!, I went there and the attendant took my docs, opened my passport, saw Finnish visa but no Finnish entry stamp and she just packed my docs n was pushing them to me saying "we gave you a visa before but I can't see any Entry into Finland on ur passport" (of course she wasn't blind to see that there were other states' stamps to show it was used)

I told her I had informed the embassy about my inability to make the trip (she was forming "I'm through with you"wink and she reluctantly asked for the evidence. Thank God for iPhone, I quickly searched for mails since 3yrs ago, found the correspondence with Mxxxa Axx, and when she read thru it (it was a funny conversation, I must confess), only her smile with herself, draw the documents back thru the space and asked how I'll be paying: cash or card . I was relieved; even when she said it's only single entry she'll gimme, I was like no probs.

Cut long story short, I had to go to the Finland oh after Spain trip make wahala no burst. Bought a ticket on Air Baltic for my kid sister to accompany me, spent 3 days der n was back to UK. It was unplanned and inconveniencing but even after a sad robbery ordeal in Spain(that's another story for another day) We still traveld to Finland. I Can't shout.

So, if I didn't get back to the issuing state consulate that this was my plight, I no for even get another quick visa from them when I went there again. It means I could only enter Finland thru another state. It's ok to ask "wetin dey Finland sef". But imagine if it was Germany, France, Italy, etc that this thing happend, it will be annoying to go thru France or Belgium to Germany or vice versa, plus, I gotta spend more days in the issuing country's state before I go to the main state I really wanna go. Nah!!!

My suggestion for OP is do them a short mail telling them you can't make the trip anymore cos of xyz reason. Unfortunately, Naija is not a place where u can come one in one with the visa officers. You go thru agents (vfs) who may discourage u from attaching that letter wit your next application but insist on it ok.

-*** sorry for the long story. Sometimes it helps.

All these ranking B/S, do they still work? I think the product is more important than the producer nowadays. Unfortunately, some unis are no longer living up to their names, just collecting ludicrous monies from students and making names, yet they keep rising up the top ranking lists.

I would be more concerned about a uni that gives me added qualifications than the mere bsc, msc etc. I would be more into a uni that gives me graduate / chartered membership to a professional body in my field than chase after ivy league unis or Russell group unis. After all, some graduates from these unis are still looking for jobs till date, both here and at home.

GulliverVisas: It's standard practice for an applicant to apply for a visa in their country of origin. This has nothing to do with holding a Nigerian passport: this has been required of our clients that are Indian, Filipino and even British. In all of my years in this business, I have yet so see where a visa process is initiated outside of the applicant's country of origin UNLESS they have legal authorization to reside within the country from which they lodge their application. If you're truly interested in getting a USA tourist visa, keep calm and don't force a square peg into a round hole: the advice you received was golden 'APPLY IN NIGERIA'! Either way, good luck.
Check what American embassy in London says. you can apply there if yr physically present in the uk, regardless of your visa status.
See www.london.usembassy.gov/mobile/niv/apply.html

@ poster, read the procedures in Ukraine n apply there if u wish to. If u wish to go to naija and apply, feel free. Last last, it's the interview that determines the verdict.

tzetzefly: You can be issued entry visa to any country in the world as long as you have a right of domicile in the country you intend to apply from.

The only issue for the prospective applicant(s) including you, is to know the reason why you want to visit such country including the States.

Other than this, your application will be refused.

As the situation states now, if you feel applying from Nigeria is better for you, then do so.

You're still a student and a dependant so your parents will be responsible for your upkeep.

As long as you can defend the need for travel to the States and your travel purpose is research related on study grounds, with good grades to show, then you can as well apply from Kiev and get your visa issued.

Forget all excuses given by other failed applicants
Not so true, especially if your "right of domicile" means eg a residence permit which of course, visitors won't have. Like I said, you can apply for US visa in London if you are physically present there regardless of what visa you're carrying.

Truly, poster should ignore excuses given by failed applicant and look forward to a successful interview.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by 3sha4lyf: 10:30am On Jul 06, 2014
kofoshi: Thanks for replying.

C graduated this June and has been enlisted for NYSC so she is no longer a student. She has her NYSC letter so I suppose this puts her in better stead as opposed to being just a student? This proves she has ties back home and removes the doubt on her intervention to leave the UK after her visit? She can only stay till the end of July anyway as she has to be present in the orientation camp on the 5th August.

So either way, C should still show some n200k odd in her account despite A sponsoring? Or would a lesser amount do? She is unemployed so does not normally get that kind of money in her account hence the money will either have to come from A or B.
Best as the NYSC letter is out. Like I said, In my sibling's case, first application, sibling got letter of identification from uni, didn't read the letter which read that sibling HAS FINISHED STUDIES AT THE UNI AND AWARD NYSC, submitted it with application, whereas On the application, sibling wrote "student" as occupation. See the contradiction?. Luckily by the time sibling reapplied, call-up letter was ready and sibling attached it, made notes that "student" was selected becos as at the time of application, uni had not issued the success letter or result and so sibling could still be deemed as student.

So if you read between the lines, you'll see that the call-up letter is a supporting doc to show that applicant C intends to return by August after her visit to UK.

And yes, C needs to show at least 200-250k in the account, albeit A's sponsoring. More the better, less, the more worrisome. But remember, any lodge in Cs account should be synonymous to previous transactions in Cs account history. Doesn't make sense paying 1mill in an account that has had 1k, 2k transactions on average, or, paying 500k every day into an account that's been receiving 3k once in a blue moon, in the recent past. That's a clear case of lodgement to deceive the ECO.

Hope this helps.

You know what? It is uncanny, how your experience almost mirror that of my cousin's -how? Did you ask?
It's coincidence babe, it's coincidence. smiley

kofoshi: Well just like you, A's sister, C is a recent graduate who has been drafted to embark on NYSC this August. The slight confusion for me however is that C did submit a letter from her UNI to state that she was a student of UNILAG who will be embarking on her NYSC programme but again this might have seemed contradictory as on one hand she is a graduate yet she requested testimonial from her old University- but the ECO never expressed this confusion. Anyway, her NYSC letter is now available and in addition has an offer of employment which is conditional upon her being posted to serve in Lagos. I have advised that nonetheless, she, C, provides enough evidence to show that she attended the said UNI and also enough proof that she will be embarking on her NYSC. Furthermore that she provides evidence as to why it will be desirable for her to embark on such programme and it's ramifications should she not comply with such requirement. This I hope will prove that she is intent on returning to Nigeria as it is for her utmost good. What are your thoughts on this, please?
you lost me on the bolded. I should have directly asked, what year is C? Then we can take it from der.

kofoshi: As per the lack of tenancy agreement, I understand that one way or the other, B must be able to show the source of this fund and without documentary evidence she will be left in a pickle. My initial advise was that she makes a declaration in court for an affidavit? This is because I was wary of the implication of her drafting an agreement which will not bear the true signature of the lessee (due to his not being present) and therefore lead the ECO to presume forgery which could lead to a 10 year ban. However your advise seems sound enough, a solicitor's seal should suffice
Spot-on!!! Just do the usual let agreement that would be done anyways, with of without visa application. Only difference is a solicitors seal or rotary seal (guess that's what it's called back there) would be helpful.

kofoshi: As per your emboldened, yeah you were right, I meant to say C, and not A.
Thought as much. phew!

kofoshi: So in summary and from my modest understanding, can I assume that C does not have to show funds for her travel in her account in so far as A is willing to undertake this responsibility alongside accommodation and maintenance while in the UK? All she -A, will be required to do, is to flesh this assumption of responsibility out in a letter while also attaching a breakdown of how this responsibility will be met i.e submitting an itinerary?
Nope. Didn't say that. C can as well include her SoA. It's a supporting document, albeit low in finance, remember? Moreover itinerary is different from "breakdown of how the responsibility will be met". Itinerary is more like showing what and what you'll do durin your trip. Oh Nairaland message service!!! What's up with you nahuh

kofoshi: Also, is a required to show 6 months or 3 months bank statement? From the requirement, I think it states 3 months?
Naija requests for 6months. Uk requests for 3 months. I think at this point, the laws of the land where u apply overrules the other.

kofoshi: Gosh! A thousand and one questions. grin you must forgive me.
No worries. Happy to help smiley. And hope this helps.

bubsykay: I have seen when someone was told there are better schools in the US and you could get there and change your mind, so school alone is sometimes not an enough ties in a foreign country and [b] the embassies do not encourage applying out side your home country. [b] Your travelling experience will help here and you need enough evidence to show your sponsor (parent) tie in Nigeria.
Not really true. After all, you can apply for a visit visa from London, even if you went there for a visit. Likewise, if you schedule ur interview for country A, and you find out you'll be in country B at the time of the interview, you can reschedule to country B. Strong ties means bonds outside the US. Not necessarily on Naija or heaven.

As previously stated, travel history can help cos I know of a friend who everything went well until he was asked "what country have you travelled to?" And he said "none", and they gave him that their generic refusal love letter.

Go to the visa application website www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk, register sn account (if you haven't already done), start new application (Apply for myself) and fill out the first page of the form.
In the "Select Visa Type" section, choose the following in the toggle-down boxes

Reason for visit= Transit
Visa Type= Transit
Visa Sub Type= (Special) Visitors in Transit.
Tgeb conyinue thru from there.

Required documents remain same as have already been posted on this forum PLUS a confirmed booking showing onward journey to final destination.
So while normal visit visa doesn't require a paid transportation attached with application, YOU MUST ATTACH your confirmed flight ticket to New York shoeing a stop over in, AND DEPARTURE from the UK within 48 hours. Guess 47hrs is more than rnough to "greet" ur Aunty. cheesy

kofoshi: You are A GEM!

While I waited for your response, I re-read your previous posts and indeed you had mentioned that a student is not prohibited from sponsoring a visitor. I am sorry for making you repeat this information. Please indulge my tardiness.

I just worry for the possibility of C being refused because as a previous responded mentioned, A is an adult and would therefore not be expected to be sponsored. Well, if it is acceptable for A to sponsor both travel and maintenance for C, then all the better.

On other notes, as luck will have it, B had some monies in excess of N250k paid into her account by one of her new lessees. Unfortunately, an agreement is yet to be made in writing and it is unlikely to be done this week as the lessee is out of town and the applicants intend to re-apply this week taking the graduation date into account. How best do you think they can explain the arrival of this funds without a contractual document between the landlord and tenant?

Again, I'm in utmost gratitude for your assistance.
Ok, my suggestion is that only B reapplies for now. Reason is that C might have it tough gathering supporting docs from her uni to support her application.

If I understand you, B just let a property to X. X paid in about 250k in B's account. But no let agreement has been agreed and signed yet cos X is out of town.
If this is the case, B should draft the letting agreement and sign (and seal if a lawyer is involved, the better), a receipt of payment and attach a photocopy to the application and write something like this in "other info" or on a fresh "letter of identification for UK Visa application":-

"Recent Payment of 250k (also write in words) reflects payment by Mr X (or whosoever paid it in) for new lease of property located at bla bla bla, for the period of Yyears. Please refer to attached let agreement which is yet to be signed as at time of application as tenant is out of town. Furthermore, tenant can be reached on 080........"

I think you confused A for C in the bolded. Btw, there's nothing wrong with being sponsored as an adult. The only issue is your ties back home, ie. the potent reason that can cause u to return back to Nigeria after ur visit to uk. So if you are a student, unfortunately, you have to do extra much to prove that you will return to Naija, and continue ur studies. But if u've finished skool and awaiting NYSC, like my sibling, that can b used as an evidence of strong tie. Mind you, my sibling was in all ramifications, AN ADULT yet sibling was sponsored by my sister.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask; you can only know more if you ask right, so don't be dismayed. At the end of the day, if you reason out what I've written out, you can deduce which is best for you and tailor it to suit your circumstance ; I mean A,B and C's circumstance.

kofoshi: It should be fine now since I follow you. Please check your email as you will not be able to read the actual mail in NL anyway.

For the avoidance of going back and forth, isn't re to know if you suggested that it would not be frowned upon if my cousin deposits the air ticket fate into her mother's account. Her plan was to be the sole sponsor anyway bit because she is a full time student she assumed that this will not be allowed.

What are your thoughts? And sorry for being a pest. When it comes to immigration I'm a firm believer that no assumption should be made, you ask until you get clarity. cheesy

Apologies if I'm making you repeat what you may have mentioned before.
Ok.
I recall saying that there's nothing wrong with A sponsoring B and/or C especially if A has the monies, albeit A is a student. I recall giving an example of my sister who invited my parents and 3 siblings;2 refused for their own minor-turned-major errors, one reapplied and was granted; other couldn't be bothered reapplying.

If A decides to transfer the TP fare to B or C, B may have to explain how that money got to her account, which still ropes A in cos B will say it's from A for TP fare, AND A will still have to attest to that, which takes it to square one and u ask urself, what was the point moving the monies. If she can cover the bills as a sponsor, why not?!

Again, I can't help but reiterate it. Her being a full time student, doesn't deter A from sponsoring B. Look at it this way, what if A was working before she became a studenthuh What if A saved sooooo much monies since before studies? That's y I say it's not a deterrent.

Hope this helps. Very happy to help where I can.

Still looking for the mail... guess it's lost in the cloud. :/

Yes, that's the cost of living expenses you'll incur while on this trip. Tell u what, yeah, do the maths on a rough sheet, i.e accommodation, feeding, local transportation etc. Then sum that up and put down the figure there.

One, It may be ignored if that's not the expected answer from the UKHO, (and then they know that it's time to expatriate on that question as applicants are finding it difficult to provide the expected response)
OR
They tick it good, as well-answered.

But if you leave it blank or say no, if their expectations include All C/wealth countries, they may think you concealed an information.

I may b right, I may be wrong. But then, what do I knowhuh wink

kofoshi: Hey 3sha4lyf,

I sent you an email.

I hope you received it?
No. Didn't see any though it's notifying me that there's one. I tire for the mata. Wish NL would develop PMs on this forum rather than diverting to ppl's inbox.

Omo_Aje: Hi Justwise, 3sha4lyf and other moderators, I have 5 years uk visa and am intend to put in uk visa application for my wife (not working) and my son who is one year 4 months. we are all planing to travel next month (August) which i will be responsible for all the traveling expenses including hotel, air ticket etc..BUT my concerns is how to fill the income and expenditure section on the form for my wife because i booked the hotel for 3 of us ( i, my wife n son) though i have filled N/A for my son. please kindly put me through...
Hi, ehm, I'm not a moderator; I'm just happy to help where I can, while learning where I can as well smiley.
As per your Q, here's what I think you should key in. And I'll put my reasons where I can.

*
Income and Expenditure
Nil (because she earns no income for now; can stand as a fulltime housewife smiley )

*

What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)?
* Nil (Because she bears no cost for the trip. It's all paid for by hubby (luvly) )

The total amount of money you have for this trip
* this I'm not sure but you might wanna put same figures you put in your own VAF (becos same money will be available for her as well)

The cost of the aeroplane, boat or train tickets
* N/A (she's not the one catering to it; it's hubby)

The cost of your accommodation
* The same as urs. (She can also put N/A because again, she's not the one sponsoring the trip. I would do this.)

The cost of your living expenses
* The same as urs

Is someone other than you paying for all or a part of your trip? YES

What is the total amount in GBP(£)?
You might wanna put down what you wrote in yours.

This is my opinion based on the ones I've seen successful. The most important thing is that in the "other info to consider application" section, be sure to put down the following:

* I am presently a fulltime housewife.
* This trip will be fully sponsored by my husband, Mr. Xyz. Please refer to his ABC Bank statement attached to support my application.

I say this cos My M/I/L filled hers like this and she was to be sponsored by her hubby. She got her visa. Again, while every visa application is considered in its own merit, I'm certain this is ok. At the end of the day, the choice is yours smiley.
But then what do I know? Lol

Hope this helps.

X-factoria:
How about the fact that this crime is thriving on the greed of western citizens? How on earth would a sane person take a loan to finance upfront payment for lottery proceeds processing? Would they have been given the loan if they didn't lie to the bank themselves?
It takes two to tango! But you see that this article deliberately refrained from dwelling on the folly of the victims as if "Fizzy" forced their hands.
If you've lived in the UK before, you'll know that you don't need to explain to the bank before you are given a planned overdraft. If you maintain a healthy account flow with the bank n u request for an overdraft, they'll give u subject to their Ts n C's. That is a loan in itself, so they probably didn't lie

4C2215131: And who's going to foot the legal bill(s)? Either way the OP loses out save he gets Jumia to compensate him for "inconveniences". Why? The OP pays say 20k or even 10k to a lawyer to get back his 69k, when and if he gets it, it's no longer 69k but 49 or 59k in which case he still runs at a loss save Jumia foot the legal bill. Well,49-59k is better than nothing eh?
No need to chicken out especially when you know what's ideally right and it's glaring it's right. You talk of legal bills? No Sane lawyer goes into such case and requests for just a refund my dear... Compensation for inconvenience and damages incurred during the waiting period will also be filed for... If you find radical lawyers like Ken Aswete, KK, etc (I'm not advertising them pls), those ones sef would ask Jumai to pay ALL damages.

I would sue for it, not exactly becos of the money but cos it's annoying!!!

newbie2014: thats not what she meant. there is a question that asks if you have any other passport? you choose YES.
And another question will ask: where is this passport? Choose IN MY POSSESSION.

So then you make sure you use rubberband to attach the new passport to the other one you have and submit it alongside all ur docs at the visa office.

Chikena.
Samy UI Student: Thanks very much, now I understand. The application will be fill online, submitted online and printout to attach all necessary document with and submit all at visa office...Hope am right?
Both of you are saying the same thing... Same script, different actors and lines. Lol.

Anyways, @ Samy UI Student, That's why I bolded the "Online" so you won't disturb JW with the same question over and over and exhaust his over-niceness. Lol. You see Newbie2014 is already exhausting his niceness. Lol
Plus, the online application is a simple step by step process, nothing too difficult to comprehend but then, if you reach a deadlock AFTER STARTING AND GOING THRU THE ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS, hit Nairaland back.

nelsenhenry: Very well said. A bad review in my opinion still doesn't mean you tell people to stay away from them. I believe you read the part that says "read the terms and conditions know your right and approach them civilly ". You only get cheated when you don't know exactly what you are entitled to. And I can't remember the generator of this topic say his purchase was shipped. If it's so it's something different entirely. Take legal action after gathering evidences in effect to this and the company still hasn't made a refund or delivered the item as indicated.
Just so u know: I've never shopped on jumia and I ain't got anyone I'm trying to protect as u are implying
That's the problem with us. We don't read very well before we quickly comment...I'm a culprit as well. Please read below and reassess.

tai wo: There was a promo by samsung on their 40" Led Tv. which costs 69,000. this promo ended 30 june 2014.

The promo granted me the opportunity to buy a 40inch tv at that price. and Quickly I went to to place an order on 27th June 2013 so as to beat the deadline. After several days of waiting to see my order, (since I ve been mailed that the order has been shipped) I contacted them and they promised I will get my product asap. 8days later which is today, I was informed by jumia rep that they ran out of stock. I was pained and queried why they didn't inform me about this. that now I have to pay more than 25% on the tv elsewhere since the promo has ended.

I tried to reach them but to no avail then I resorted to the social media where eventually someone called me. I mailed Jumia to kindly refund my money as I will NEVER have any business with them again. I was still waiting for an alert when I got a mail that a voucher has been created for me without my consent, that such voucher is valued at N69,000 (the amount I paid for the tv) and I can only use it to purchase another item on their website...
To even think that poster tried reaching them on social media, rather than COMPLETELY resolve the problem, they created a bigger one by issuing a voucher. C'mon, there's nothing good to make out of this. I still maintain that Any Ts and C's that provides for a voucher refund if a product that was indicated available online, labelled "dispatched" to customer and later labelled "out of stock" for same customer, IS A FRAUD. Ask your legal advisers and prove me wrong. There's no point sugar-coating this ill. Remember, when u see nothing wrong with someone shitting in front of the church, pls don't condemn it when another shits in front of your parlour. That's what's killing naija. Making excuses for the wrong reasons.
