You may not be far from the truth but then you gotta realise that they have just taken over a process from vfs bout a month ago (though not an excuse for poor service).
There r still people who have received their visas from VIVAC. There's only much they (VIVAC) can do. Needless to add, the duration of visa processing lies to a great extent with the UKHO rather than the Application centres.

Guess we should be more careful about how we quantify/qualify things. Think it's best to approximate than generalise.

FutureDon: If you are going on a student visa for a program with a duration of 12months and above, YOU DO NOT NEED A RETURN TICKET. I was fed the same bs during my time.

The return ticket saga is one of cost vs necessity. Like I said, a return ticket in most cases is same price, if not cheaper than a one-way intercontinental ticket.

So if this is true, why buy a one way for 10 quids when you can get a return for approx. same and even if you don't return on the outbound date, you simply pay a very meagre fee (compared to the cost of a new ticket when ur ready to travel), revalidate the ticket when ur ready, and you're off. Most return tickets like that are flexible.
It's c/sense, it's not bs baby.

If going with arikair, get a return ticket or don't bother.

Other airlines may overlook it but sometimes first timers or ppl r usually asked for their return tickets at the point of entry and if you cannot produce it, den u'll return to Naija free of charge immediately, if u see what I mean.

Just for curiosity sake, pls why would u wanna buy a one-way ticket when it's as expensive as, if not more than, buying a return ticket?
You can just get a return ticket for return in, say, 1 year time so that by the next year, of u wanna travel, u use it or if you'll rather change the date to a later date, you pay change-of-date fee and use it.

boraborababy: I use extreme glow glycerine and serum at night and qei+ mixed with extreme glow serum in the morning. I also use the soap. Its lovely on me. Pricey but worth it.

Heard and read that extreme glow (EG), like the brothers express glow, pure glow, etc, is laced with Roids. Can lighten you in days, but then will re darken you up to four shades from where you started if you stop, yet if you don't stop, it can damage u internally eg organs, and externally with stretchmarks, hairs growing like weeds on unwanted places etc
Also read of someone saying her pee was like toxin when she was using extreme glow.
So thread with caution.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO CLARIFY PREVIOUS REFUSAL OF ENTRY CLEARANCE

I recently applied for the UK Visit visa but my application was refused by your Commission on the grounds of Paragraph 41(i)(ii)(vii).

The ECO, adduced that the application could not be approved because he was not satisfied that I was genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a limited period or that I intend to leave the UK at the end of my proposed visit due to my circumstances in Nigeria. The ECO also questioned deposits to my account that he believed would not be genuinely available for the trip.

In submitting my visa application, I submitted my personal statement of account, letter of introduction from employee, salary and position information in Bleep, letter of promotion, marriage certificate, family photographs, hotel booking among other things.

In defense of my visa application, I believe the ECO has erred in his review of my initial application and make the following submission:


1. I hold a Senior role and by virtue of my position earn NXXXX every month excluding other monetary benefits that accrue to me as shown in the Letter of Salary Breakdown. I have attached a breakdown of my annual salary package. Holiday, and other allowances, due at the beginning of my annual holiday amounts to XXXX.

2. Additional information on GTB Account statement: Apart from salaries paid monthly, I earn upfront payments at varying times of the year: Some of these payments have been made into my account and accounts for the bulk of large sum deposits observed by the ECO in my initial application. They include:

a. NXXXX – Quarterly Education Payment. 3 payment have been made for the 3 quarters in 2014
b. NXXXX – Upfront Housing Payment
c. NXXXX – Productivity Payment
d. NXXXX – Warm clothing allowance

e. I also take part in a work saving scheme, where colleagues contribute a certain sum into a pool, which is then given to a particular person. Bleep is contributed every month and each individual receives Bleep every 4-5 months.

3. Additional information on First Bank Account Statement – My First Bank account functions primarily as a savings/investment account. All funds into my First Bank account have been credited from my GTB account. I have attached my GTB current account statement to provide evidence of these transfers.

4. Additional Information on GTB Pounds Sterling Account – This account attests to my savings culture as the sums therein have been saved since 2010. These sums represent saving from salaries and other allowances from my previous jobs.
5. Cost of trip: I attached in my earlier application, my travel itinerary and cost of travel to me personally. Apart from shared costs of taxi, for example, this trip is funded by each person as we both are entitled to holiday allowances at the beginning of our annual holiday.

6. I have been to several countries within and outside the Commonwealth on work and non-work related issues and at no point breached the terms of visa granted.

7. I have a stable job with prospects for growth. I also take care of my widowed mother and do not intend to breach visa conditions in the United Kingdom.

8. My husband and I have also purchased land on which we plan to build our family home.


I am of the firm belief that the ECO did not put these financial and emotional ties into consideration before reaching his/her decision. The money paid by my employer (AMCON) is meant to take care/augment my trip to the UK thus putting my in a good financial position to undertake the trip. I have social and family ties here in Nigeria, a brilliant career, working with the Federal Government of Nigeria with the full complement of retirement benefits and pension plan, a supportive family and good intention to visit the UK.


I am of the view that I meet all the requirements under the paragraph 41 of the immigration Acts as promulgated by the House of Commons of the UK and appeal that my application is reviewed fairly in light of the above information which depict financial stability and ties.

Welldone! Well-drafted... Letter seems good however I'm not sure about the purpose of the c/letter... It seems to me like an appeal letter challenging, or requesting an admin review for a previous decision, rather than a correct c/letter for a new application including vital suporting info omitted in innocence in a previous application.

Also, you may have addressed, for example the issue of the 8 unknown payments, but it's not clearly stated in your letter. It takes a second and probably third reading to actually tie those payments to your employer, your akawo, and probably friends you help buy things for- maybe cos i'v read ur earlier posts. But I'm wondering if the case worker can relate to these.

Ideally, your new application should look more of a "resubmission" while correcting those flaws raised, rather than a contest, or if you like, appeal against decisions made in the past application, otherwise, you won't need to pay a fresh visa fee if you actually think the ECO made a mistake in his decision. Just go for an appeal which save for family visitor, it's curtailed to only human rights grounds, however you can relate your issue to it.

I can understand your emotions have factored in as this can be very upsetting. I suggest you decide what purpose you want it to meet; An appeal against a previous decision or an application for a favourable decision due you. Tweak the letter a little bit, remove some bits insinuating your letter is "appeal against" their previous decision, and I'm sure you'll be fine.

In all, this is plainly My Own Opinion. I may be right, I may be wrong, but then it's up to you at the end of the day. Rethink it.

LadyWolfe: I certainly declared the refusal of last year and even explained improvement in circumstance (ie promotion and travel to US and Europe on official assignment).

The only reasons for refusal were the deposits to my account and a comment they had already refused my husband for lack of funds. Our balances combined were almost 3m. Turnover on the accounts were almost double as most of our allowances are paid upfron early in the year.

If you would, reapply ASAP, now its still fresh in their memory. Just update your outdated documents, prepare all other details and cover loop holes, and on your cover letter, address the issues raised and state that you have provided further details on the said alien transactions made in your accounts.

Just as you have explained it here, put it down der. It's not gonna be a problem. They only wanna be sure u didn't do money lodgement and like i always suggest, if you are making applications and prior to then you recently had new payment habits in your supporting account(s) be sure to minute down on your form the reason for the new trend of money flow in the account cos it can easily be taken as money lodgement.

Nothing wrong with you purchasing stuffs for people and them crediting your account, it just needs to be delineated.

Another thing,and this is IMO and has worked, don't put figures in your itinerary. Just put a schedule of your activities you can take this or Diss it.

One thing you fail to know is that GnG is all natural, at least the one I buy from Paks Cosmetics, uk. Like other products, there maybe products made for other markets that may contain HQ or Roids and u may have used one of them ones. Ask greenfriend. For example, I use fair and white with vit c in my natural mix. I get a glow when it's the UK brand (it's got KA). But if I try it with naija own, I will whiten in days and darken in the next week, not forgetting the dark knuckles. That's cos of the HQ, plus sensitivity to sun. Let's read the content of what we put on our skins first.
Another example is dis. when I was using QEI+, I bought it directly from the distributor in London. QEI+ is all natural, but in nigerian markets, the QEI+ contains traces of HQ; it may be pirated, or just for foreign markets like Nigeria. Albeit, the QEI+ I got here, plus the serums I downed into my mix, gave me green veins. That's a clear issue of SKIN THINNING. Certainly from excessive exfoliation and overload of lighteners. What did I do? I discontinued use. But that's not to say QEI+ is a scare or to warn people against it. I've just learned that if I gotta use it again, I won't mix up to 4 serums to 250g again.

Having said that, i'll say the GnG pink lid is a gentle exfoliating and works well when mixed with the oil And probably any other lightening cream as base (eg H55+).

Oh yes. I use that. But lemme add for the poster, there are two fade gel creams, one is oil free so you might wanna consider that if you have acne-prone skin like me. Then again, I find that the fade cream and the fade gel don't work magic on their own. Better results when mixed with he carotein serum. But then the serum, though is a wonder-worker, is quite heavy so you might wanna mix it in very small quantity say 5-8 drops to 2-3 spoons of the fade cream sans oil and/or gel. I make about 20ml carotein mix and it lasts me for bout two months. So make your mix in small quantities so that, of course the potency doesn't wear out.

Carotein has mulberry and licorice (will check my bottle ) and I know that it gives me a golden glow rather than the faded white face you get from kojic acid. That's not to say koji acid isn't good but a little bit of vitamin c will give a better golden undertone.

So try it as Greenfriend has suggested... And remember to thank Greenfriend later. Cos you'll begin to see results within two days. I saw mine, no kidding!!! But then it was my mix.

Yeah you can resubmit some of them like bank statements, letter from employer or introduction etc, as long as they are dated within 28days (which may be unlikely following the visa app duration in Nigeria), otherwise get an update.
You can list dem out here for more assistance from others.
Remember to put down some bullet points in the "additional info to be considered" section, and then refer then to your cover letter where you've elaborated them.

It the sponsor was in the country that the poster wants to visit that is a big red flag.
It may look like the poster has no reason to return home.

As the sponsor is in the home country of the poster they may be able to show this as links to home.
It will not be easy and it will need a good explanation of why someone would sponsor the person.

I may not be far from the truth to say that you are very feisty by nature, and you can't even hide it even on a forum. Smdh.

Regardless of where sponsor is, if you've got no ties back home, a sponsor cannot sit in for that.
Their visa principles be like this;, a sponsor may be able to cater to your proposed trip but a sponsor cannot guarantee your exit out of the UK at the end of the proposed trip.
Whether your sponsor is home or abroad, if you are unemployed, have no responsibilities, in fact, no ties whatsoever to ur home country, a UK visa is likely to be unlikely. Likewise if the sponsor was abroad.
And that isn't to say it's impossible becos of cos we see exceptions as every application is catered to in their own merits.

Like Wards and children, young adults may be sponsored if, for example they are students, yet to go on NYSC, etc. Then those things serve as the so-called ties. Eg. Studies.

Lol...what does it matter, really? sponsors can't guarantee that the traveller will return to his/her country after the end of the trip so they are really not a bonafide tie to home country.

However, if applicant is a sponsor, say, had some wards or commitments back home, that's ok.

I save money is another account seperate from my salary account, I guess I failed to explain that.

How soon can we re-apply if we wish to address the issues raised by the ECO; or how do we request for administrative review?

Our planned holiday is in October.

If you really wanna go in Oct, I would suggest you don't bother bout admin review cos it would take nothing less than 2 weeks for a response and analysis of previous decision made.

You can reapply as soon as you have your documents ready, and have corrected the issues addressed in your refusal letter, plus any other possible reason for another refusal. So in essence, I'm saying if you are very prepared, you can reapply today. It's all about preparedness than cooling-off period, if you see what I mean.

* Are you the first staff getting such a bounty from your coy? Can be helpful if your coy gives this sort of bounty to its other staff and you can include this history to further support your app.

Of course you can, as long as it has (I think) at least six months validity left on the passport.

fem30: I do understand that it is slow for some people to grasp certain things. When we say speed kills and as such please drive at a slow speed, it doesn't mean we are pessimistic or prophets of doom. It simply means we know the realities and the risks involved hence the advise. You however failed to even recognise that I stated that there are exceptions.
In this analogy, the OP is asking how he can make his fuel consumption at high speed cheaper and we are telling him that it is wiser not to drive at high speed at all because there is a very high likelihood of a fatal accident but you are here saying all what we are saying it being pessimistic because a lot of people drive at high speed and nothing happened.
I think I am out of this page because a word is said to be usually enough for the wise yet I have written paragraphs.

Just curious... Did the letter from both applicant and coy give reasons why coy funds were deposited into personal accounts instead of coy account OR they merely confirmed and attested that, yes, indeed the money is from a "legal" source, and by coy, etc?
These are two different issues to be addressed. One, Where did the money come from, and Two, why this account instead of the coy account, since it's for business-related purpose, for example, if you see what I mean.
Remember you applicant also stated that (s)he doesn't receive other income asides his employer. So how do u explain "payments" with receipts from someone, say ur employer, into ur account? By their understanding, and I'm guessing, though I may not b far from the truth, receipts are proof of payment, and they acknowledge that something has been paid for, or has been received. So what was paid for? Certainly not salary. It should be some goods or services rendered, which should have been explained in the form. But if you say u don't receive income elsewhere other than from your employer, it contradicts even the receipts provided, if that makes sense.
Then, the 4th paragraph reads "you say you will be visiting your friend Dr. Lilian Awere in the Uk..." .
Two things, it's either the applicant indicated that, or the ECO has made a wrong assumption. If the latter is the case, then applicant should point this out in the reapplication. Reason for previous refusal should be that the ECO wrongly assumed that applicant will be visiting friend in uk, whereas applicant had indicated "No" to the question (quote the number).
Mind you, if this isn't the case, you may not need to bother challenging the decision becos you may end up factoring in deceit and earning a 10yrs ban.
If you say it's ur friend (not you), ask ur friend very well about the details of that 4th paragraph.

Ps. I'm not antagonising you by any means and I apologise if I come across as such. You just need to critically assess that refusal letter so that you can correct future mistakes, should the applicant decide to reapply.

Last I checked it wasn't a ? On the form and considering he has been refused in the past doesn't that alreadyshow the intent of wanting to visit uk, I mean its not a fresh application
The large sums in the account where explained with invoices being a sales executive
And he booked hotel so I dnt see why there is a need for an invitation letter or evidence from the person in uk
It was a general tourist visa
Last I checked I thot only name and number sufficed except u intended to stay with the person
There isn't a single concrete reason for his refusal

While they acknowledged that it's not a prerequisite to provide in particular a reason for choosing uk as a holiday site, I'm sure they clearly needed an itinerary. Did the applicant include an itinerary?
Last I checked it wasn't a ? On the form and considering he has been refused in the past doesn't that alreadyshow the intent of wanting to visit uk, I mean its not a fresh application
True, but since they assume all applicants are potential immigrants, they can assume the applicant is hell-bent on "migrating" to the uk and probably beyond the leave.

Very well, the applicant included invoices to show the sources of the funds i.e the receipts n invoices, but failed to give reasons why, as the. ECO pointed out, those "business" funds were paid into the applicants "personal" account which (s)he provided as supporting evidence for funds available for the trip.
And he booked hotel so I dnt see why there is a need for an invitation letter or evidence from the person in uk
It was a general tourist visa
But the ECO letter clearly shows that applicant claimed to be visiting a friend "Dr Lilian A.". So of course, if you put down you're visiting a someone in the uk, you should be able to show that that visit is indeed gonna be a welcomed one. An IV or a letter of acknowledgement/consent in most cases, proves this.
Last I checked I thot only name and number sufficed except u intended to stay with the person
Unfortunately, if you say you will visit someone in the uk, the persons name and no is not sufficient enough to back that up, not when you've never made a return trip to the uk.

I would say read through the refusal letter and if you must reapply, address those issues, plus other probable and imminent issue that may arise, and put in your application.

Yes there's more to deal with in LDR but I'm sure Ppl who do it are also willing to deal with the issues to the best of their abilities and if it doesn't work out at the end, they'll beat their chests that they tried their best, and move on. My experience has shown that while some dude somewhere is doing all the lovey-dovey, I am the one servicing and greasing her engine full time. Yes, sum ntwrks have it but the problem is that for some reasons I still find unanswered, the staff are not usually happy to tell you the "cheapest" plan to get on. They'll rather rope you into the "reigning" plan, ie, the one that is on adverts and jingles today.
