peace009: Hello guys, i need your advise. I have been to the UK several times (6 times) and i have been issued 6mnths and 2yrs visa but now expired. I want to renew now and just want to get things rightly. When i applied before i was working in the bank but i have resigned and start my own business which is registered LTD and have recent tax clearance. In one of my visit to the UK i stayed 3mnths and 2wks for the purpose of trying to buy vehicle and used things for export. I have documents bill of ladings for all the vehicles i purchased in the UK and other receipt for the used items and engines i bought. Now, am willing to apply now so as to go for holiday. Can i add my company's acct and personal acct , other properties documents. my personal is like 800k. what other things do i need ? I need help.Read carefully thru the thread for an idea of necessary documents which can be tailored to suit your situation. I would say yes, include both personal and company account and my reason is that if you need to show some trading activities in your company, your company account can show that. And if you need to show how you can take care of your proposed trip plus something to fall back to when you return from the trip, your personal account can show that. But be sure to indicate that the company account is provided to show trading activities OR ELSE, it may be used (in error) to assess your application, and depending on the purpose of your trip, if for tourism for example, you may have to explain to the ECO why you're using company funds for your. Trip |
d2ddayo: nop i wasnt banned cus we requested if i was banned and was told no. officially by an immigration lawyer. You shouldn't have any issue, you see, just as you have "narrated" your experience here, you should be able to summarise the key points on your uk VAF, FRANKLY stating that you were refused previous visa, the country of refusal, the reason for refusal and in the additional section, your appeal to the ECO. You should be fine, putting all docs intact and doing the right thing. |
dove30: Hello guys please my parents submitted visa application to come for my graduation on the 4th of this month.my graduation is next week Thursday.we called the customer service in Lagos but no one picked.we now called Abuja and was told that the application is in Lagos and the confirm it had not been assessed due to back log they are having.i was given an email to email Lagos which have done but my worry is that they sometimes don't answer this email quickly.please can my parents go to the embassy in Lagos on Monday taking along the tickets which is for Wednesday and the vfs papers stating that the graduation is on Thursday and they are living on Wednesday.please i would welcome all ideas and information from you all cheers. They probably wouldn't need to be explaining to the VFS ppl about the urgency of their application, if that's their purpose of going to the vAC without being called. This is because the VFS only act as agencies and can do little or nothing to hasten the visa process. They can however try checking the VAC where they applied, just to double check cos in the recent past, I think there's been a whole lot of backlog. Or they can just hang on a little while. Applicants are advices to apply well in time (especially at thus "peak" period, and also NOT make concrete travel plans before the visa application is processed and sent back to the applicant. |
Buttergrey: No original Kojie san soap retails for NGN500.00 Invest in original products and enjoy amazing results. Can you please don't start!!! I use Kojie San, got it from a veritable dealer in nigeria, it's a whole lot more expensive here cos it's kinda scarce. And it does the work for me. So remind me, what other original Kojie Sam soap do you mean isn't less than 500ngn? Can I remind u that there's the one with a blue lady on it, says its anti ageing. So, helloooo... Let's calm down here before I freely distribute the retailer's contact here. That you won't sell @ NGN 500 doesn't mean another who's more concerned bout quick turnover is selling anything but the original. ![]() Greenfriend: Buttergrey is right, 3sha4lyf is a bit correct in his/her assertions too.Oh thanks!!! Where r u? |
donciccio: Tnx mate. Perhaps I should just build up my acc to abt 1M b4 applying again. I hope that will b ok?You may neither have to "build up" your account nor spend 600k on a trip of just 10 days. The paramount thing is that you do your research very well and cut costs cos even if you build your account to 1m, you may still risk falling for refusal if your budget Is that much for 10 days, making it well over half of your end balance and over 250% of your income. That's a red flag IMO. As for your house rent of about 800k, that is not so strong a tie but yes, it CAN act one depending on how you use it towards ur application, and especially if you have only just paid for it in the recent past. Afterall, if you can pay your annual house rent at a go, one ECO may assume that you have to recover from the expenditure before going another spending spree, while another may assume that you can't pay for a house and abandon it, if you get the picture I'm painting. #JustSaying. So do some serious homework and put your thingy in. |
Forgive me but kojie sans soap, isn't it NGN500? Or is it a different one people are selling NGN1,500 in Nigeria? Just curious. |
victor08: How on earth will you buy shoes online without seeing and even testing it. Nigeria's and their dumb behaviour. That is why you get scammed.Unfair to say "Nigerians... dumb behaviour." It's a global world where markets have gone online and sometimes, you buy things on the internet based on pictures and reviews of the product itself. That doesn't make you dumb neither does it make those naija people that do it dumb. It happens almost (if not) everywhere on the world. Plus you don't really need to test it before you buy it if you have an idea of what it looks like, and can picture how it will feel on you. So I think you should take back that comment or you've just exhibited your dumb behaviour. |
tzetzefly: You will need to convince the CBP officer on why you did not attend the church convention being the first purpose for which the visa was issued. Not really... It's a B1/B2 multiple visa (I'm assuming) and as such can be used for either of them purposes. Omooso: hi good people of nairaland and the gurus in the house please i want you to help in solving my own matter,i got us niv visa last 2 months for church convention but i was on able to go due to some issue.now i want to visit US this October and my port of entry was Washington but now i want to enter true New York as tourist, hope this wont work against me at the port of entry?I don't see any reason why it should. I got mine and didn't use it for more than a year, not even for the conference I was to attend initially. When I eventually traveled, I was asked the normal "what are u here for/how long are u staying for" question and granted leave to remain for 6 months. |
sophiapat: Thank you very much, Plz can u give me the link to the thread dat talks about why applications are refused.. Ill be very gratefulhttps://www.nairaland.com/1181160/comprehensive-list-documents-required-visas That's a flexible list IMO. But in any case, it gives you a head-start idea of what to prep yourself with. |
aibisoye: Hello House,Know of a successful applicant who got a job and about 6 months later, applied for a visa, submitted employment letter which stated that the employment was on a 3-months probation condition. Depends on a lot of factors becos all applications are treated in their own merits and while one issue may be overlooked for one applicant, the same issue might be a reason for refusal for another. Best case, if you think anything might be an issue in your application, focus on building the other supporting document in such a way that that "issue" might become "inconsequential", if you see what I mean. |
spikesC: Even if it was full, you still cant withdraw from a pounds dom account in ukDepends on the bank. If the poster banks with Standard Chartered bank for example, has a foreign account ie. Sterling, Euro or Dollar account in their naija branch, OP can withdraw with the bank card at various cashpoints |
queenlabisi: pls run from dis cream for ur own goodYou can say that again... Hence I asked if the poster read reviews of that cream. It's poison. 3sha4lyf: Have you read thisNo one deserves a damaged skin |
sophiapat: What about the nysc call up letter? Is it not enough to show i will be back? Cos i intend travelling after orientation camp. So somebody must have a job to show before he or she can travel for a short holiday?Chineke. But i thot landed property also helps to show u have strong ties to d country? Also, cant i print call logs to show i and d guy in question has been communicating? So until i have a job before i can travel? Dis is not fair of the embassy ooYour Call up letter can act as an intention to return back to Nigeria after ur trip. Read through this forum very well, u can do a search on the forum as well. Also, be sure to read threads that explain why applications are refused (I think Vicjustice has a thread like that). Then you'll be able to decide how to establish relationship, should you eventually put in your visa application. Your NYSC issue may be the least of the items you need to sort out in your application. |
Too many unnecessary arguments which doesn't solve the problem at hand. Typical of people to focus on the small issues and leave out the big picture. #UnfollowPostPlease |
Folorunso09: hello thereDo some research online to find students review of the course. Also search for and get on their forums to interact with them and find out their experience. You may get very limited info from here cos very few people may have done the Top-Up courses, which I think is delivered differently from the way the taught and research courses are delivered. zerray: sorry what do youTop up degree course could mean a one-yr full-time [conversion] course that you add to your previous qualification or experience to get a full B.sc degree or the equivalent. Some people use it as a pathway course to a new field of career/study. Alternatively, you can ask Google for a better description if this is too vague. |
taiwo3: you are silly. apologise for what? wasting my time and call units before I got the product. was it not becos ds post made the front page u attended to me promptly. EwuHey T, easy pls. . I feel u. Btw, you haven't given us update yet o. Any further correspondence (apart from this)? #AprokoDotCom #TafiaOnDuty |
mamamor: This time I was thinking to leave my aunt of it dunno if it's a good idea bus I stated she is a family friend on my previous application, this time I was thinking to say I had intended to do shopping for my fashion shop why in the uk and also show my daughter around places of interest.1) How come your savings/personal account is not on the list? 2) You can include your company account to show transactions and business activities BUT be sure to note it down in the "other information to consider your application" section that the statement is included to show business activities in the past 6 months. Don't ignore this. While It can act as one of your ties back home, it can be mistaken for, and assessed as your sponsoring account which in their opinion, you need to prove why ur company will spend money on you for tourism, and perhaps the direct benefit of your trip to them. So it's important to include that it's just to show business activities. 3) Rather than including pictures of places to show your daughter, why not draw up an itinerary (which is what they want in any case) of these places, per date/day and include instead? Do some research bout these places and put up a plan, eg day 1. Alton Tower, Day 2 Old Bond Street, etcetera. Alternatively, if you'll rather pay for the services, seek help from PROFESSIONAL tour agents home and abroad. 4) You don't really need to include flight reservations, except of course you will be transiting for some days through uk, and then on to another country and so,you have to show a full trip booking from your local place of departure eg Owerri, you your final destination eg Addis Ababa, CLEARLY INDICATING entry AND EXIT dates from the UK, Plus a visa for this destination country, and then it MAY be taken into consideration. In any case, you are strongly advised not to make any firm travel plans until your visa has been approved and/or issued. 5) You may wish to get or not get an invitation letter from your aunt for the trip. The point is if you do, she has to state in the letter the extent to which she'll be sponsoring the trip eg accommodation at hers or a paid hotel, feeding, transportation, etc, for which she will also need to include supporting documents like account statement, let agreement or mortgages if any, payslips etc. But whether you chose to get an IV from her or not, remain consistent with info you put in your last application; she ur aunt or ur friend. Lastly, if you claim you wanna do fashion shopping, remember to show an account statement that reflects this intention (don't go now dumping money into ur account cos u wanna show this. You may be refused for lodgement to deceive ECO). If your company is in that field, your company statement can suffice, but be sure to do as suggested in 2 above, PLUS a letter from another authority in the company stating the extent to which you can have access to funds eg. XYZ amounts for the purpose of the shopping. Remember, your personal account also gives an idea of your financial ties back home. Don't omit it. HTHs |
Daveicing: The Difference in the Visa feess for 5 and 10yrs is just 50k my broda.... within the past 2 yrs, I have visited the UK for up to 4 times, and trust me i do frequent Paris every 2 months.... and I just feel it's wise to have a longer duration visa to put the issue of visa renewals to rest jare....When I said its possible to get 2yrs visit visa from naught, and even get 5 yrs visit visa after getting a first time visa to the uk and it's Tier 4 visa, some people on NL argued with me saying you have to go thru a sequence of 6mnths-2yrs-5yrs-10yrs routine. I'm glad ur boss showed u can get 10yrs even after 2 yrs. The logic is that you should be able to prove that you will have very frequent travels in the nearest future and as such, it will be unreasonable and unfair for you to make another application pretty soon. Also, you should have an account, and/or a sort of business, as well as a travel history that can support that. While travel history is important, it's also notable that some people's travel changes as time goes on, due to increase in income, new business ventures, etc. So assess urself and put your document right to support this. ONLY two things are possible if they decide to approve your application for [up to 10yrs] visa. ONE, they give you your full 10 yrs permit as requested, or TWO they give you a lower permit. And that's as long as you don't fall under general grounds for refusal. You can only know if you try. There's nothing wrong with applying for 10yrs visa after ur 2yrs. If you can afford it, why not?! Cheers. |
curiobling: my insticnt told me that VFS is the brain behind late release of visa processed information as treatment for those of us that too smart to pay NGN400 sms fee. Am i making senseNot really true. Lol. Has nothing to do with your 400 bucks. It's even annoying if you paid 400 bucks and you get a free email from the embassy that ur stuff has been approved, but u r yet to receive SMS from vfs. Why pay for it then ? ![]() Keep keeping faith. They better come out fair to u. |
7sperovs:Very well on point!!! MOBBDEEP: See yourself !!!Can I ask what phd you're referring to that's just 5yrs? Have u forgotten that there's usually some 4yrs of study plus about a year masters prior to phd? You call phd purely research and thesis, forgetting that this research is very intense so that it's the foundation of the new findings we enjoy today, even the new knowledge doctors know today. Pls correct me if I'm wrong on this. My dear, no profession is lesser than the other. The debate has been on since my secondary school days and no one ever agreed that one degree is superior to another. Instead it's the degree holder that makes the difference. |
7sperovs:Very well on point!!! |
Utonne: Thank you.My honest opinion? Forget those ranking b/s. While they have their own significance, you have to be very sure you are okay with the modules. Doesn't make sense if you go to a highly rated uni, lose interest in the course somewhere along the line cos you don't like the modules and then u find urself struggling just to finish and come out with any grade at all, cos of the huge monies you paid for fees (and trust me, towards the end of the course can make you go nuts with all the essays n dissertation and exams seeking ur undivided attention howbeit you did good time planning) . Be comfortable with the modules and guess what, uni ranking are reviewed yearly based on certain criteria like pass rate, school life etc. All of which are relative. You can also like up with past and present students on Facebook, Twitter for example, or even their graduate students association (dunno if they have one. Mine did) and ask them what the experience in uni and the county feels like. Leave no stones unturned in your survey about ur choice of study becos those fees are enormous and deserve value for their spending. |
preshuzpearl: she works in a bank where as a beginner in operations she earns 75k. she read engineering in school. now she gets an offer to be a project supervisor in a real estate firm (the firm builds simple houses and sell to the public). she has never really worked as a construction project manager so she lacks experience to accurately supervise. they will pay her 60k monthly. what should she do? leave the bank for estate development or remain in the more secure jobTo add to what ernie4life has written, you need to also consider if you are after a career or just money. Some jobs are tickets to a career path in that you use them to build urself in that field. So say you read accounting and u wanna practice in the long run, but ur working as a PR in a big firm, if you get another job as an accountant in another coy, you can take a paycut knowing that you're working there for experience in ur field so you can comfortably join ur dream/ ideal coy in the future and bargain higher salaries. That time your mouth will strong well well cos ur coming fully loaded. And don't worry, no experience is a waste, the previous one will also add to ur advantage. So think bout it. Job security, money, career, flexibility, fair working conditions, esteem. Etc. The reasons to consider are inexhaustible. Good luck in the choice and may God help the decision. |
zerray: public administrationCheck www.prospects.ac.uk. You'll find a whole bank of info to help you with a good head-start. |
Utonne: Hey people. Please i need ur help. I need to make a choice on offers from UWE, Bradford & Coventry. Im going in for HRM. All CIPD accredited. But I'm more concerned about the rankings of the school.Firstly, What are u going in for? M.sc or B.sc? I'll speak like you were going in for M.SC If I was keen about the rankings, I would go to UWE. Heard the rate at which students come out with distinction is relatively high. One arguably thing is that people do not really make good grades in most of the highly rank unis, compared to the ones in "ordinary" Unis. Say for example, you go to Manchester uni will really have to put in more effort to make a distinction, whereas, someone in a uni like Anglia Ruskin or Glamorgan uni may not struggle so much to make a distinction. And that is not to say that Manchy deliberately makes it difficult to excel or that ARU easily makes students pass unnecessarily. People might argue about the content of what both Unis teach but I think at the end of the day, it's about the people who graduate from the uni that makes the final proof of the what a uni gives. Sometimes, your cv sells when you say "Master degree in XYC with Distinction from Salford university" than when you say "Master degree I XYC from Manchester University". However, some uni names flag quickly regardless of if you put the grades on ur cv or not. Eg "Master degree in XYC from Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, Kings College, Cranfield, Edinbburgh, etc", if you get the picture I'm tryna paint. So It's up to you. IF yoU are looking for where to pass all easiLy, of course with support from uni, try UWE, Bristol. Coventry is my second choice and then Bradford. Coventry has nice after-class community life so you can blend studies with leisure, if you can manage it. Bradford, I think I'm partial because of the terrain... Feels more like Cambridge ancient environment and if you believe in the "man and his environment" school of thought, like me, I'm not sure I can study well in Bradford, regardless of how good the lecturers deliver. This is just my opinion, I may have the wrong perception of these things but then, at some point, perception becomes somewhat reality... But I guess it gives you an idea what to look out for when you're making the final choice of uni. One can't help but consider the fees you are willing to pay and for what you are actually chasing after... A paper or a career. Hope this helps... |
Chinzzy: hi dear,Amazingly, you're unknowingly showing that Jumai's organization and processes are weak. Rather than put up a good image of your company, you are canvassing for clients to boycott the already existing structures of call centre and pas through you for better services. I find that disturbing. I think you have better ideas and so you might wanna share with your management on how to improve services, rather than this. By the way, does Jumai know you are the contacts person apart from the customer service contacts they have, that customers should contact for better services? Or customer service as a team isn't supposed to offer these better services and discounts you are advertising here. I'm just curious and I don't mean this in a bad way. You alone can't change the perception of over 100 customers. It's called team work. Don't tell people to call you for better services. Tell your company to make better services available to everyone so you guys don't get such bad reviews from customers meting out their dissatisfaction on social media. How many forums outside NL can you go to ask them to contact you? Your post really makes me wonder about Jumai's management cos I think what you've just done is unethical. Tx |
Depends on what specifics u want and ur target market. For young adults and Chics, (lol) here are a few. H & M - Great choice of clothes to select from; lots of mix n match things. Online and in-shop. (Online delivery really isn't prompt and could take up to 14 days depending in stock levels. You need a confirmed address before they deliver to you) 2) Dorothy perkins - fab for affordable smart and casual wears. Online and in store (great delivery service. They even have next day delivery - NDD) 3) New Look- fab for affordable formal and casual wears too. Nice delivery service. NDD available. 4) Oasis- mainly luscious casual tops. 5) Miss Selfridges:- great for party wears (some chics can turn this hot tops to daily casual tops in naija) 6) Zara:- you can find some statement wears in there but some seasons, crase enters their heads and they make some funny wears and shoes. 7) Matalan:- you won't believe they stock nice wears at low prices. Try them for very casual wears like linen, work wears. Wallis:- basically tops and pants. Nice collection, good delivery services. 9) Warehouse:- fabulous wears... 10) marks and Spencer:- people think it's old people's favorite but look within with patience and you'll see classy chics' wears. 11) Jane Norman:- hot hot hot wears for ladies... can't explain. just look in there. 12) Evans:- mainly for plus-sizes. 13) Debenhams. Here you find the following brands:- * Collections by Debenhams for nice formal and smart wears * Redherring for lovely casual tops, pants, skirts, etc. * Julian Mcdonald for average-priced statement clothings * Jasper Conran like Julian, * Ben de lisi for clothes, shoes and bags * Faith for shoes and bags * Nine West for shoes and bags as well 14) River Island, they just stand out with their shoes, bags, their clothes are okay. 15) Quiz:- you gotta enter the shop to search for nice saleable items cos their display doesn't do much justice to them. 16) Office:- as the name implies, formal-to-casual shoes and bags 17) Next: can't fault them if you're searching for work wears and a few smart casuals. 18) Karen Millen:- oh you don't say! If you want statement wears for a fairly priced token, this is the place to shop FOR YOURSELF. 19) Lipsy:- all them girley clothes and bags. 20) primark:- a thorough selection could fetch you nice clothes that last for long. Don't just follow how cheap they are. U could be buying "1-week-use-only" wears. Apart from that, they are relatively cheap. Also, if you want big designer names for small prices, don't miss TKMaxx. You'll be shocked. Most of the stores above also stock lingeries and the likes but specialists are Ann summers, Victoria secrets, La Senna AND BRAVISSIMO For solid bras and matching undies. They also stock for plus sized ladies as well. Make-up, enter Debenhams, house of Fraserburgh, Harrolds, jarrolds Grand Arcade,Andelle, etc. Depending on where u r, you'll see big departmental stores that stock most collections ranging from clinique, ysl, lancomes to mac, urban decay and bobby brown. One other option is to visit outlet stores. You get even more discounts on clothes, shoes, bags, etc. I visit Cheshire Oaks a lot and it's amazing. You just have to be there early in the morning cos it's a day's shopping till you or your wallet drops. There's also Bicester village. Those are the two big outlets I know of (there are others) Phew. Hope this list helps. |
italent101: u too much thanks for your reply.... a university in China offered me an admission . n my fees tuition +accommodation n others less Dan 750k... like how much do u suggest I av in my sponsor account for d visa application?https://www.nairaland.com/1261094/travelling-china..make-enquiries-here#up |
joxiri: An invitation letter is much different from a payslipWe are literally saying the same thing dear and I'm not saying you dunno know what ur saying. While we can only make suggestions, every application is dealt with in its own merits. You may say IV letter is not as important as a pay slip, but then what then can you say about a recent successful applicant, self-employed but didn't submit a tax clearance certificate for his business; in fact he didn't have sef. Isn't TCC as important to a s/employed business man applying for general visit visa? Some will argue that it's not possible but then he got his visa for the first time in his life (to leave the shores of naija) and is soon to visit uk for his brother's graduation this July. Last last, it's up to the applicant to put his docs right in such a way that a clearly scanned or faxed payslip will be inconsequential an issue for his application. |
Enjoy... I find that the theft in that country is too crazy. tourists have to be extremely careful. Had an ugly experience in Salou and another at Barcelona airport gongon!!! Very nice city where u have the park with Europe's largest thrill ride Port Aventura. But the pickpockets/room robbery ehhhhh. People say same thing happens in other European countries but I've never experienced such elsewhere in the few European countries Av bin to. Enjoy. But the padlocks should be ur best friend. |
joxiri: @kayeee4321You are correct, but only to the extent that the original documents are for example readily available, etc. I've seen two successful applicants use a scanned copy of invitation letter for graduation from an invitee's university. They stated it categorically in there cover letter that they've included scanned copy of iv letter to support their application. Maybe the embassy requests for original docs because of the high tendency to forge docs in naija. I also think that the "Original documents requirements" is just their disclaimer in case they deny you based on their doubts. I guess if it's something they are in doubt of they can do further checks. This said, I'm of the opinion that if @ kayeee4321 other docs are alright enough to make a decision, the photocopies may be inconsequential. So in other words, clear photocopies or fax may be used if the original is unavailable. Preferable to use originals but if it's unavailable, do u kill ya sef? Noooooooo (lol) |
Vicjustice: What is the difference between your various long epistles and the claimed e-mail attachments?Like I said, I'm done arguing with you. First of all, you call it my "personal tale that probably lacks credibility". I bring out attachments of a mail to show correspondence WITH a Visa Officer at Finnish Embassy, London. It's clearly written out there, and I made that in brackets, where she wrote that she'll put down some notes on my details and if applying to the Finnish Embassy, I explain myself so it won't affect my chances of future visas from them. You say I'm giving people misinformation. I didn't write that mail captioned "N". She did! When people are unclear about a process, who do they ask for further info, especially if it's not in the FAQs? The authorities, right? So if the same Finnish visa authorities mailed me back of a potential problem that may arise in the future, WHICH ACTUALLY DID PLAY ITSELF WHEN I WENT BACK TO THE SAME EMBASSY TWO YEARS LATER, then why trying to diss me like I'm here to push people into a pit? Sometimes, you need to be careful the way you antagonise people, certainly cos you have one level of power above them. People may or may not disagree with you on NL, but doesn't make them any less than u r. What's that?! Poster asked, should I inform the authorities of my change of plans etc? You said "ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO..." And I give an instance why it may be necessary to inform them, hence a "REASON TO...", And you debunk it asking for a section of immigration laws that calls it a crime. I never said it was a crime, I just showed that saying "ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO INFORM THE ISSUING EMBASSY" Is inappropriate here cos of course, there are reasons to inform them. In some other online forum, this type of question was asked and a forum member suggested the poster informs the issuing embassy. He highlighted that unused visas are not taken kindly on next applications from the Schengen embassy. Nobody threw tantrums there. If you still believe that "THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO INFORM THE EMBASSY" if you change your plans and decide not to use the visa anymore, that's you thoughts. I've had an experience that has thought me to do so, when and if I do change my mind. @ kkokoma, I'm sure you know what to do. It's your call and you dint have to agree with me. Other silent readers on NL will just shake their heads and move on cos this is sooo funny. No need to reign insults or offensive words to drive a point. Tx |

Wallis:- basically tops and pants. Nice collection, good delivery services.
