I don't think so.... He's not okay with the advice so he's trying to twist the narrative by opening another profile to ask the same question.

What kind of generalization is this??simply say people can not be trusted..so many bankers have travelled and returned

Bankers are part of the reason why we're in this mess in the first place... do your research and you will understand what I'm talking about... by the way they hardly give any banker not in Management level visa nowadays.

K1 visa is a legit visa for migration to the States ... You should have invited her yourself and state the your wife would be responsible for the expenses (probably because you aren’t working then) instead of having your cousin or wife inviting her.

I’m a citizen and went through K1 too, making good 6 figures in IT field but they still denied my mum visa smiley so I honestly don’t know what those VOs are looking at.

I’d suggest you do what @seyewest suggested you make a copy of your visa page and green card so she can just display it to the VO on that glass even if he/she won’t collect or request documents from her.

I’m re-inviting my mum again in few weeks time and I will come over just to escort her to the embassy (I know I won’t be let in but maybe that would boost my mum’s moral a little bit haha) photocopying my passport page and wife with kid’s own along with tax returns to give to her o. Haha we die put this time oo lolz.

If it doesn’t work out this time around, then I will resort to filling for her.

Guys do you think if she mentioned that I was in Nigeria 4 times last year to visit her will increase her chances?

Yes of course na die there ooo (Give her enough document)... insist on following her inside or get in touch with the embassy before the interview.

Hi everyone,
Please I need help, I am planning on going to USA for a training first week on March (March 10), I want to know my chances of getting a Visa before then. Will I be able to get interview slot before then (I will be applying today), and how long does it take to get the Visa out after interview

Thanks, anticipating a prompt response.

Your parents stand a better chance than your brother. I would advice your parents apply while your brother can wait.

Still a hasty generalization..who told you? Where are your facts and figures?do you work at the embassy ?did the embassy tell
You this?are you a VO? I know so many HMos workers,Telecom workers, media workers, private coy, yahoo boys who have travelled and didn’t returned..stop this baseless assumptions

seyewest:

Let them apply together and you should send them a copy of your letter of admission, school ID Card, graduate list (Something to show you're truly graduating) and they should not spend more than 8 days as trip duration... they will like issue your parent the visa but I'm not sure about your brother... one more thing let your dad talk at the interview.

Hey! Not sure if the VO would look at or rely on those documents. It is inconsequential. Anyway, do as the spirit leads you.

You still don't get it... U.S is really not mad at Nigerians staying behind in U.S but those that will enter U.S and move across the border to Canada (US and Canada shares info about applicant now) If you do your research very well even though I'm not V.O but I'm privy to a lot of these information and I can tell you categorically that between 2015-17 Nigerian bankers crossed U.S border to Canada then any other profession.
Banker don cast... ask around and look around... how many bankers get B1/B2 nowadays.

Bro anybody can get U.S Visa but you must have a very good ties (Havard Invited Conference included) weigh your pros against your cons honestly and work on how to present yourself to the V.O without deceit.
Good luck.

Abuja visa will be out within 2-3 working days while Lagos is between 3-4 days....
No one can tell if you will get visa or not... go through the thread and assess yourself.

I think they will check just for confirmation purpose in his own case because parent going for graduation is normally one of the easiest visa to get.

Yes I agree that visa for a parent attending their Wards graduation is one of the easiest. However, adding a sibling to the application is a tricky one.

Me : Good morning Ma'am

Vo : good morning, can I have your passport please

Vo : What's the purpose of your travel

Me: holiday

VO : Do you have any family or friend in the U.S

Me: Yes , a friend

Vo : what does your friend do in the U.S

Me: He's in the Navy

Vo : how old is your friendship

Me: a little over 6 years

Vo : how did you two meet

Me: we have a mutual friend and later became buddys

Vo : Can I see the passport you used when you were denied visa 5 years ago

Me: I don't have it here but I have a copy of the data page and passed it to her

Vo: can you explain the name change

Me: explained and passed legal documents to back up my claim while talking to her

She started typing very fast and returned the documents

Vo: what do you do

Me: I am so so so

She asked more question on what I do; I explained in just three words

Vo: where will you be staying

Me: with my friend in OK

Vo: what does he do for a living

Me : told her again

Vo: how much is your salary

Me: told her how much I earn monthly

Vo: Your visa has been approved today and you can pick your passport bla bla bla

Me: is that all or is there more?

she laughed and said that's all but don't forget to pick your passport

Me: I laughed and said I won't forget

Everyone in the hall was looking at me like an alien while walking out of the room

Picked up my passport already

Be honest? Those people that maintained in US after obtaining B1/B2 were also honest. If u one advice make una de give better one, honesty doesn't work for US visa just luck and depends on mood of VO

Goodevening I went for an interview today but I was denied I have been to the Usa three times prior to the interview. Before the interview I filled in the form I had no relative in us. A day before the interview my agent said I should say my Mum was in us .This was the question as follows
VO Goodmorning
Me :Goodmorning
VO : where are you going to in the Usa
Me: Virginia Beach
VO: do u have any relatives in us
Me: my mum
VO : how did she go
Me: she divorced my dad so she moved on
VO: how long has she been married
Me :2 years plus
VO: was she married before or after
Me : after
VO:are u a student
Me: yes I am
VO: intended date of graduation
Me:June
VO: sorry you are not eligible hands me the blue paper

I don’t know why I was denied.

When next am filling the form should I indicate that I do t still have any relatives there and when I go for interview the next time I reapply should I still stand my ground I have no relative there. I hope it won’t affect me? Cause of my previous situation?? Will the VO be aware my mom is there if I say no I have no relatives??

Read all kinds of complicated stories here. Isn't a visa application meant to be a straight forward process? At least my applications have always been straight forward with no issues or denials (EU countries, USA, UK, Brazil ). Our people even make the jobs of VOs in nigeria stressful with all these stories.
When I was a student there was this schoolmate of mine from nigeria who was also on F1 and from a good doing family in Nigeria. His mum was always complaining about Nigeria and preaching the american dream. All his siblings were born in america except him. He overstayed his visa as a child but didnt get banned as he was a minor. After secondary school he moved to US on F1 and was living like a US citizen. He never went to nigeria on holidays, his visa stick expired but he never bothered to travel to nigeria and get issued another visa because his I-20 was still valid. HE kept changing his major and having different I-20's issued. His siblings (born in usa) all moved to USA while he was still studying. His nigerian passport expired but he was still living the american dream with no intention of applying for another passport. Then suddenly his uni told him he needed to travel out of usa and get issued another visa as he was out of status and wouldn't be issued another I-20. After utilizing all avenues, he got a passport and returned to nigeria to apply for another F1 visa. Bottomline , he was denied. His issue was just too complicated and I was wondering why people complicate things for themselves.

Haha yes oohhh. Some of them earning well but involve themselves in some kind of hustle that I dont understand. A banker taking home 1.2M a month migrates to usa on B visa to hustle

Lol I worked in a bank 2017/early 2018 and in the department people went to USA and returned very often for vacations, short courses and professional training. I also applied a B visa and was issued with no difficulties. There are different kind of people that work in the bank and the VO's tend to ask bout your day to day task . A highly skilled banker is not likely to cross the border to seek asylum in Canada. A cashier in the bank is more likely to do that
