by far the dumbest post on military matters so far. even your comrade that's in the military disproves this your imagination.

well the longer the range the harder the shot, but snipers are more than a good shot that is a marksman.

Nigerian army snipers are also expert at hitting targets at long range and can handle long range rifles. that is a special skill for our special forces and yours as well.

but the ordinary soldiers are trained to be snipers. it's a normal training for the army

I was puting it in cotects. And how long are a hinds rotor blades, how much room for a misstake is there. Basicaly you can't land a hind there. No pilot would take the chance. Just one mistake, one swell and you could loose the ship and choper. It is funny that some one who has never seen NNS thunder up close and has zero martime training wants to argue with some one who has both.

are you south africans all a nation of mathematical fools ? no wonder pretoria is begging nigeria to send you more and more nigerian mathematics and science teachers to open your blind eyes and improve your 33% brain in mandela's rainbow nation.

instead of you to use mathematical data to determine how an helicopter will land on a ships flight deck, you are using your ordinary eye sight....fool grin

Mi-35 Hind helicopter is even shorter than the 18m i said, its FULL length from tail rotor end to overhead rotor end and gun pod in the nose all together is 17.5 m and that is 6.5m smaller than the NNS Thunder flight deck and that means if the Hind lands on the Thunder there is still extra free space of a whole 21 feet free space between the helicopter and the ships structures and only at the front of the helicopter do you have a structure 21 feet far away, on all two sides and backside of the helicopter is open free always empty air space you fool grin

21 feet is more than enough space to park a 16 feet long Honda Accord car and leave extra space. you are a foolish navy cook in south africa, the whole of mandela's navy does not know applied mathematical geometry....rainbow nation of fools grin

19.76m long american jayhawk helicopters have been landing of NNS Thunder Hamiliton class ships at random without any accident or mistake, and the american helicopter is over 6 feet longer than Mi-35 Hind....you fool grin

Once again, spare us the sermon about your decommissioned rust-bucket. It doesn't matter if you can land a space-ship on it. The thing is on it's last legs.

Here's a US Coast Guard Commandant explaining what it is that you inherited:

_____

MOAA: You refer to an alarming number of patrol days lost because of ship breakdowns. What’s the condition of your fleet of cutters?

Papp: We had 12 Hamilton-class high-endurance cutters and were getting only seven ship-years of use because of breakdowns. We decommissioned two in 2011.

Where do we take the shortfall? In Alaskan fisheries patrol or Western Pacific drift-net enforcement, in drug enforcement or migrant interdiction? My area and district commanders confront those choices daily.

We also have an artificially imposed cut to our finite resources because our ships are so unreliable, and the cost to make them more reliable is astronomical. We have obsolete equipment and engines so long out of general production that parts need to be handmade.

Three years ago, when I was Atlantic Area commander, I had a high-endurance cutter, Gallatin [WHEC-721], off the coast of Colombia. Those ships have four engines — two gas turbines and two diesels — and three electrical generators. On the day I called on the commanding officer, they were down to one diesel for propulsion and one generator for electrical power. They literally had to turn off refrigerators and other systems to have power to launch a boat. I ordered the ship back to port. We shut them down for close to two years for repairs.

After Gallatin, we looked at Dallas [WHEC-716], which shared its homeport of Charleston [S.C.]. Dallas was in even worse structural condition. She had just returned from deployment with the Navy in the Mediterranean and Black Sea and had done phenomenally. But it was at a cost.

It’s not just engineering challenges we face. These cutters were designed in the ’60s when we didn’t put much consideration into crew comfort. Crews are still in 40-person berthing areas, stacked three high. The age of ships makes them smelly, cold, and uncomfortable. We ought not to treat young patriot volunteers that way.

About your rust-bucket, I quote:

.

Is that why you aren't telling us when they were built?

Yes, don't waste our time. You even voluntarily told us England received a second-hand aircraft from the US.

Therefore, that's not the issue.

The issue is taking a dead, decommissioned vessel and presenting it as something worth looking at. It was dead when you got it.

I quote, once again, about your dead vessel.

"Because there are 12 ships and their life expectancy is 40 years, they're all kind of coming due at the same time. It's kind of like when you pay off your car, the maintenance problems start after that," says Wisener. "Well, our maintenance problems are about triple what we have budgeted for."

Another quote:

"Commander Gregory Wisener is the executive officer aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Morgenthau, and he's helping out with this training. He says that there are a couple of options the United States has when it is ready to retire military equipment of this size. For example, it can convert a cutter like the Chase into a National Wildlife Refuge grin by turning it into an ocean reef, at a cost of $10 million. It can also sell the equipment to a friendly nation, like Nigeria."

_________

A dead lady brought back to life by your rag-tag navy. Received after it had looooong exceeded its life expectancy. And to think that reports say that you bought it. What kind of procurement people do you have? Do you have idïots for procurement people?

Yes, don't waste our time.

Thing is I know persnaly how big a hind is and how big the flight deck is. I know how much room a pilot needs to land. I all so know the hind is a poor hover. So unless you can show me proove that the hind has landed on a flight deck of that set up and size the case is not closed.

6.5m leaves close to no room to manover. Not to menstion the hind is all so wid and tall(top heavy).
What about the telscoping hanger it right there. And 21 feet can be coverd really fast

Firstly that quote does not back up what you said. Do you thing the hamlton class is the only cutter in the USCG? That they have not built any thing new since the 1960s? And the jayhawk is a purpos built martime choper, it can over far better than a hind for one thing

Sorry you do know that every country has accdints. More so with low flying. Even the dutch did it with a apachy.

Sorry it is a brlian in over all comand and our forces are still being commanded by a south african. And by your own statment the UN would rather put a rwandan (a country they have publicy accused of supporting rebels) in charge of a mission than the nigerias.

I think that The Nigerian Police and Nigerian army are becoming increasingly useless.
I was on my way to Enugu and on getting to Awka, I saw a soldier on uniform sleeping, just after Aroma junction. Though, there was a sign of military check point there but they were somewhere sleeping.
On getting to Enugu, just in front of Holy Ghost Catheral, I saw a team of soldiers and police arresting okada riders indiscriminately.
And so I started to wonder, what are these people really paid for? To sleep on duty? To arrest okada men, who are legitimately looking for their daily bread?
Again, in the north, where they are needed, they have failed woefully. They are attacked and killed, even in their stations.
Do these people still worth their pay with taxpayers’ money including mine?
What are they doing in the south and what have they achieved in the north?
Your contributions.

5 american Dakota aircrafts were transferred second hand by USA to south africa in 1966 plus all the rust and still being flown today....though started to crash one by one from 2012 due to rust....tins of sardine with metal rust peeling off...falling out of the skies....making widows of south african air force officers wives.

we are well awar the turbo daks are old, but second hand rust buckets? firsly when we got them most were new builds and they were top of the line, second they are in exltend condistion and non have crashed due to maintance issues. and we have a funded program called project sauce pan to replace them.
