Lol you are pretty dense. The aren't in Lagos because of the building inept clown. Again did Exxon say they would relocate because of the building? This is same way you claimed the oil companies were ordered by NASS to relocate. Go back to making charms in your village with the other destitutes.

I really appreciate the efforts of your governor to attract the relocation. however, the main issue that those companies left have not been address. the issue of security. can a white man walk on the street of uyo to shoprite without the locals seeing him as a ransom tickets.

and also the excessive bickering by the youth that demands the impossibility. like telling them on quotas of people they can employed from other region

are you guys willing to see the influx of other tribe like ibo Yoruba hausas and host of others buying land and engaging in development activities.without telling them that they're strangers. Will you feel comfortable with this arrangement.
so, you are indirectly saying that security can never be achieved in akwa ibom but only in Lagos why are you people so deluded like this? The popular badoo crap where are they?

When the akwa ibom youths are gainfully employed, do you think they'd still have time for kidnapping? Think and stop spewing thrash while trying to defend rubbish.

The only safe state in Nigeria is Lagos therefore everything should be located there, what a complete rubbish thing to say. angry

Akwa Ibom state Government have began the construction of a 21 storey building for offices.

Speaking on efforts so far to ensure relocation of offices of International Oil Companies to the state, Commissioner of information Udoh said the ongoing 21-storey building embarked upon by Governor Udom Emmanuel would have state-of –the art facilities for offices.

"We know how much ExxonMobil is paying as tax to Lagos State government. Now we are constructing a 21 storey building with the intention to gradually increase it to about 30. This is a smart building with standard facilities for a modern office. So ExxonMobil would no longer have any excuse for not relocating to the state”. he said

This is not true, except to you, site clearing means the same thing as commencement of building. But to me,except a block is put on a block,or at least foundation is layed or concrete casting of the structure is done, building can not be said to have commenced. In this case, building has not commenced.Lets not promote lies and deceits, they are people who may innocently rely on this information.

Kidnappers Cut Off Hand Of Mobil Ex-staff After Collecting N5 Million Ransom

The kidnappers had demanded a sum of N500 million from his family as ransom but later reduced it to N70 million after two weeks of negotiation.

According to reports reaching Concise News, the desperate kidnappers advised his family to sell the polytechnic in order to raise the ransom.

Udom’s abductors took him from his place in Akwa Ibom to Aba in Abia state, where he was released from, after he was amputated, a close source revealed.

“The kidnappers were angry when N5 million was paid to them. They told the family contact that the N5 million was for the victim’s welfare. Maybe because they could not get more money, they decided to chop off one of his hands.

“However, the family is happy that he is alive. He is currently receiving treatment in a hospital after being in the kidnappers’ custody for one month.”

This happened less than a year ago, they kidnapped this Exon Mobile worker for ransom and later amputated him. Their own fellow Nigerian.

And this is what they want Exon Mobile to subject their workers to in Akwa Ibom?

Don't you get?
The payments being transferred to the government does not occur at QIT.
Finance is in the Administrative HQ.
The revenue generated from crude oil sales are remitted to the FG by the oil companies.
Meaning, the oil companies do in fact get the funds first from exports.

We have heard countless times about NNPC battling with oil companies that refuse to remit oil royalties to the government.

Guy, your comments are still not valid. sad The exploration joint venture between Mobil (40 percent) and NNPC (60 percent), is located in shallow water off the coast of Akwa Ibom state. The revenue from crude sales are remitted to FG, by the oil companies and jointly supervised by NNPC. Such revenue still goes directly to Fed Govt accounts, and not to the state govt's purse, even if the Finance/Admin depts are located in Lagos. So what is your point? Kindly stop misleading people, please. undecided Do you think that because the the Finance/Admin depts are in Lagos, automatically they will pay everything they have collected from crude sales, to the Lagos state govt? So why are you peddling this untrue account?

Mobil's operational base and housing estate, is located on vast acres of land in Eket in Akwa Ibom state. Are you saying the state govt does not earn any revenue from the property taxes of that estate, annually? Or the goods and services purchased by the families who live and work in that housing estate, do not contribute any sales tax or VAT to the purse of the Akwa Ibom govt? sad

Please name the oil companies that refuse to remit oil royalties to state govt. I can bet that Mobil is definitely NOT one of them, neither are the oil majors.

Statoil is the world's largest offshore operator, with 20,500 employees and operations in over 30 countries worldwide. sad In Norway, Statoil operates more than 40 assets in the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea, in addition to holding a significant number of exploration licences elsewhere, as well as operating one of the largest oil fields on the Norwegian continental shelf, producing more than 400,000 barrels a day. Yet, its offices are in Fornebu, just a few metres outside Oslo where its' unique head office is built, with a spectacular view over adjacent park areas and the fjord of Oslo - while its' group activities take place within Oslo (the Norwegian capital) and Bergen.

Did you even read through all the posts on this thread from the beginning, to understand the reason why that post was made? Nobody is comparing staff strength of major oil companies. ...but you are ignoring the Nigerian context in favor of a foreign entity with different geographical, safety and security issues.

You have just contradicted yourself with this post you made here. sad Were you not the first person who stated that the "The revenue is created at the operations location but transferred to HQ/Admin?" You were asked how this was done, so that you could substantiate your statement.

It was pointed out to you that irrespective of where the Finance/Admin dept is located in Lagos, revenue from crude goes to the federal govt, and not the state govt, so the location of the Finance dept is immaterial. undecided

You came back to reply that "We have heard countless times about NNPC battling with oil companies that refuse to remit oil royalties to the government." sad You were asked to provide the names of oil companies who default in remitting such royalties to federal govt. Instead of providing the names of companies that do not remit royalties like you claimed, you came back to declare that VAT is irrelevant. Really?? shocked

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Economic Report for the fourth quarter of 2017 (Q4 2017), revealed that VAT revenue generated by government increased to NGN 968 billion naira in 2017. Why don't you advise Akwa Ibom to reject its share of VAT proceeds, if you feel it is so irrelevant?

Anyway, your responses here have shown that you lack understanding of the subject matter....
