Not really a good idea. Yoruba language is now prerequisite for admission into Lagos State owned tertiary institution. So someone not from Yoruba State is not expected to take Yoruba language in waec. So in the case he chooses LASU or any other State higher institution of learning, that make him/her automatically disqualified.

LOL... You wish. Anyways it's good to have you helping the State with tax payments.
That's a given, tax will always be paid even if its in Zaria, the bill seems to be weak attempt by Yorubas to get non-yoruba to speak the language, but its pointless because Majority of the non-yoruba people are found in comnerce & also dominating the commerce sector and doesn't give a hoot about waec subject, their problem is their business

Both the Yoruba & Non-Yoruba folks frothing all over the mouth because of this law are entirely stupid.

Abia & Anambra states passed similar laws during Peter Obi’s time and we did not bother you lot. Lagos is a Yoruba state, it will implement laws to protect the interests of its own indigenes first and guess what, they are Yoruba.

Whoever has a problem with the law can move back to their hamlet, it is that simple.

I wonder why Igbos are generally emotional & have a knee-jerk victim mentality reaction to everything in Lagos & Southwest that concerns Yoruba & for Yoruba.

I see the abokis are beginning to get stupid too. It is public knowledge that Hausa & Arabic are un-official language of the North & non-speakers can hardly thrive. So why cross the Niger river to hold comments on what we fo in these parts?

E be like una don forget say there is no ‘Nigerian identity’ & that Nigeria is a mere geographical expression.

You no know Aboki again, i'll love to see it implemented, Hausa/Fulani & Igbo dominate all the markets in Lagos wetin concern them with waec subjects, so Ambode should put foward a Yoruba market bill, if not all this effort was useless
Something concerns the children of these market people with WAEC.

You don't need to force your language on anyone. Speak and take the language all through activities of your state, like in the market, and see how it will develop. The policy won't make pple learn Yoruba.
You still don't get it.

This is a baseless claim.

You must have confused loaded trucks of almajiri & loaded buses of Ifesinachi bringing troops of useless individuals who line up as ‘apprentice’ under a ‘Dede’ with 2 by 2 shop with domination. A whole lineage monitoring just one business does not mean ‘domination’.

I don’t know what you regard as ‘commerce’ but if it is within the context of market trade then your claim is still false.

For every business populated by certain ethnic groups in Lagos, you’ll find Yoruba in it. Meanwhile, in all the trades populated by Yoruba in Lagos, you won’t find others doing it.

Relatable examples:

Igbos sell spare parts, electronics & 2 by 2 boutique clothes. Yoruba, even if in low percentage do these things.

Hausa sell meat, animals, tomatoes, onions. Yoruba engage in these trades, may be at low percentage. Shoemaking cobbler business is even organized at shop level by Yoruba why Hausa do it at minor itinerant level.

Yoruba cornered and have large sections of markets for elewe omo, leku leja, agbo. You can never find Igbo or Hausa engaged in this type of commerce.

How then are the non-Yoruba dominating the commerce sector?

the idiotic pigs of Biafra claimed to own Lagos, can they claim osun state, or is osun not part of Nigeria.
Can you from the north, claim anambra state, or is anambra state not part of Nigeria?
Or can a bini like me claim kano state, or is kano state part of Nigeria?

We are one but domesticate your language.
Let idiotic pigs of Biafra know that Lagos is now Yoruba land but inside Nigeria like anambra state and kano state.

So it is because of Igbo rants you make it compulsory? If Igbo will claim Kano, non of the Kano people will even give them attension. What's yours is yours, no need to drag it if really it is yours. You're just depriving others of admission.

At the end of the day someone can get A in the language without understanding it anything in it.

In your boxed mind non-yoruba are not dominting commerce in Lagos, be sincere to yourself lets see how Yorubas can actually get back Lagos economy from Non yoruba, its definitely not through waec subject
