Wats d make n model of dt laptop? sounds like a sensible piece of hardware if oda specs r tight which it probly is considering. d noise abt ubuntu? u hav 2 look beyond d gnome gui. inspite of d above am pretty impressed. unda d hood its gr8. kde is prettie

ikeja. slot sells nokia 3g modem 4 25k. elswhere, probly a lot cheaper. @weaver, d settings r preset in netwrk mgr. ur cnctn shows automatically under mobile broadband. will probly wrk 4 u since it wrks 4 lynx. ok 25k 4 modem, jeez. dt gets a new 3g SE

i tried d kde ystrdy, d network mgr was far more sensible bt am not even sure abt d result. @ lynx wat do u use 4 mtn3g? am willin 2 try any distro. i use cable. d bluetooth mgr in ubuntu is too stupid 2 use 4 dialup unless u get blueman. kde looks beta

hey my problem does not even begin with the codecs issue, i can sudo apt get the restricted repos and get them naw abi. but the damn thing is asking me 4 some kind of pin to connect my fone to mtn which is my choice for internet access. im not about to go and buy some fancy internet connection because of ubuntu now am i?

the fone is a Samsung D900i, and am not sure the stupid thing wont do the same thing if i go and get anor fone,

hi, i was wondering if by any chance any 1 here knws how to find out a FONE MODEMS PUK/PIN NO. yeah not sim pin or puk. the modem. see am tryingto use my D900I on a linux distro and its requesting the puk code, 4 digits by the way,b4 it connects the modem. av tried the obvious 0000, 1234, etc. so maybe som1 knws hw to get dt. id be grateful

This is discouraging. where is bigbrova n a dem folks? wat is usb modem puk code or pin? av tried all my mtn codes nil. n it does d same thing wit zain! d system is useless as it is, i want 2 subscribe 2 get it up now dis. som1 shld help. tseew.

Pls hw do i START a dial up connection in ubuntu pls? I used d network mgr and as far as i knw d connectn is there but 2 start it or connect or dial lyk winblows wuld say. Then if i install yf will it automatically use d vpn in ubuntu. I also need 2 start opressing u back wit screenshots. pls of wat use is dat edge thing. i just got an edge capable fone and there is'nt any difference in speed to my old, trustworthy k700i. the edge icon is always there but no improvement bo! dt 3g usb make sense sha. i tried it on zain and it was very ok for dialup internet speed.

hey it seems som1 knw wats up here. abeg o i was trying to install a linux distro on my desktop @ home for my younger 1's only for accidental phcn to interfere midway o. upon redemption, i tried booting the system only 4 the thing not to respond o! it just shows the 1st boot up screen and keeps on winking that useless dos thing. ok o i no vex, i put in my xp cd e no boot, the drive spin o, stop, i still no vex, i put the distro same thing, haha, na im i put my smart boot cd, e still no boot, infact every bootable wey i get i tried, nothing. ok i tried to enter bios setup, no way HA!!!!!! na im i vex leave the thing. few hrs later, i tried it, it booted. but was behaving like we was close to a crash. i restarted, back to the old music. na him i pray oooo! put my xp cd, format am e format. i install fresh o, only for the same thing to happen o, e still no boot, PLS WHAT IS WRONG O, AND WETIN I FIT DO ooooOOOOOOOoooo

help o! @ all. just bought myself a samsung d900i n wanted 2 give it a spin on jaunty. i hooked it up wit cable n used d network manager wit d conviniently peconfig settings only 4 d thing 2 ask me 4 -samsung d900i modem puk number! wat is dt?
