you need to be rooted and have clockworkmod recovery or xrec installed. its in a flashable .zip file.

i was too, but i have chilled a bit now. havent flashed a rom in a week plus. am on stock GB.

im customising my own rom from stock to my tastes, freezing all those useless apps, removing some.
flashing features and modifying stuff. installing scripts. the kinda stuff that gets aggregated into roms.

when i arrive at a pleasing point i will back up my rom and also upload it as a flashable zip and call it some fancy name


enough of the roms, for now. at a point i was pretty sure at the rate i was going the fone would give up

anyway, @ Azanor, i dunno if same applies to all phones but normally, you cant even update rooted roms, unless you go back to stock.
anyway, yes the update will remove the root access you have. Just chill a bit and ensure that the new update has a root exploit so you can root it, and generally just chill and confirm if there are no issues with the update first. at times all those updates bring regressions.

games not really cos games are usually specifically built to a resolution and orientation. however i have tried to get some that i have already modded to suit the fone or are built for the fone

grap a rar of them from my plunder page too. j7ust 15MB, contains very useful apps and games i assure u, fully compatible with the fone.


to mod an app, try to get a full touch screen version, like maybe for s60v5, or just the A87 itself, its actually well supported.

when u get the .jar, try to grab the .jad too, or just make a jad urself with the jad maker.

open up that .jad with notepad. i uaually prefer notepad++ for this ish, but notepad will do, just dont be too inventive with it, if u know what i mean.

now to make the app or game use landscape mode and touch compatible, add the following lines to the jad. ands save. (not save as o, just save)

MIDlet-Touch-Support: True
MIDlet-ScreenMode: Rotate

then do ur install thingy. voila

to use any MP3 ot .AAC as your ringtone:

the fone has the dumbest restriction known to man, restricting ringtone size to 300kb

u simply remedy that by looking for an mp3 of ur own that fits the 3ookb thingy. choose it as ur ringtone.

now using blueftp or Tkfe. navigate around to the folder u have that mp3 stored. note the name, then delete it.

navigate to the mp3 u wanna use (any size), rename it into the exact same name as the previous one u just deleted, the copy it into the place the old one deleted was. chikena

exit whatever u using, though i presume blueftp by now, i really cant imagine why u shld still be tied to the pc.

buzz ur fone, and the sweet souunds ring out.

to change it anytime, just follow the same proces using any file u want.
