Redmi Note 3 SE
Or
Redmi Note 4 MTK
Which in your view would be a better purchase at this point in time.
I'm asking because I don't see how much of an upgrade the 4 is over the 3 and most reviewers think so too... |

purplekayc: Guys am in a fix !!! I recently installed NTFS 3g to help mount an additional drive I wanted to add To my PC Since then my OS refused to boot
It gives an output like this each time I turn it on
"Well com e to emergency mode" After logging in type "journancl -xb" To view system logs "Systemctl reboot " to reboot "Systemctl default " to try again To boot into default mode Give root pass word for maintenance (Or press control -D to continue)
Need info on what to do next Just to be clear, what OS is this? NTFS 3G comes installed on Ubuntu by default so why did you install? And is it a dual boot? If it is a dual boot, boot windows, turn off fast startup. Then open elevated CMD and use this to shut down. shutdown /s /t 5Ideally you should use a live USB or CD to run fsck /dev/sd* on all partitions on the hard drive. For the windows ntfs partitions use sudo ntfsfix /dev/sda*
* = drive number. Check drive partitions with Sudo - i fdisk -lTry booting Ubuntu again and this time do systemctl default if there's still error. |

Around 10pm last nite they briefly removed the throttling on the network, and it lasted till about 12 noon today.
It has since been reinstated.
Yes, I can confidently assert that the slow speeds u are getting are deliberate.
Anyways, it's too slow for comfort. MTN is performing well. |

Dsdada: That will make my machine boot automatically to Windows. I need a repair that will enable me to be able to choose the OS I want without having to use the boot menu in F12 or F2 It's obvious the answer is to reinstall Ubuntu in UEFI..... Wipe the Ubuntu partition in Windows. Reclaim the space. Make sure Windows is working fine as a sole boot in UEFI Then try Install Ubuntu in UEFI PS: u need to disable fast startup and properly shutdown windows before installing Ubuntu... |

Try removing your account and adding it again after a reboot too Access issues on ntel are due to DNS and ip issues |

jimihendrix: Thank you. I bought the modem today. Since then the signal bar has been blinking. The guy at the store told me it's gonna change from red to blue which it has. But it's not working still? Could it be there's no signal in my area? Cuz the signal bar just keeps blinking connect to it with your phone or pc and go to the browser. enter into the address bar 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.8.1 not sure which one is the gateway on Mifi . it will open the settings of the Mifi. there u will see the info you need, including signal level if any.. |

Only problem is it's been difficult finding a 4g phone compatible with the 4g services GLO offers. GLO have a cheaper data rate and they're very good in my area. So good people please recommend 4g phones that'll work with GLO network. Thank you as you help. Check this list here: http://ashipaek0.xyz/universal4g/ |

December i'm definitely spending the 10k on MTN. AT least i'll watch football in peace
Thing is that because the service is so poor, it ends up crappy. yesternite i couldn't even watch 240kbps and 360 kbps streams football. and this is becoming a regular thing
Even if they were throttling to 600KBps it shouldn't struggle with that quality, after all i use 3G for those before now....
and this happens more or less all the time these days especially when its time for football
I turned on the meter on my MiFi this month and still haven't crossed 70Gb with just 1 week left..........
This unlimited talk is fast losing its appeal. |

greenhulk: Ntel has been slow lately. It gets the job done though but not close to the speed of LTE. From Ikeja to Agege to OGba, the highest i ever get is 4mbps. Most of the times 2.5mbps. Anyone experiencing this? Story of my life. its been like that for me for 2 months+ now... Guess the honeymoon is over. Its not even as fast as 3G on MTN and ETI anymore, its buffering Mobdro that works fine on MTN 3G, which means its probably time to seriously consider porting somewhere else. Unlimited is very unattractive, if too slow to be useful. Otherwise we'd all be using Glo |

dustmalik: When it comes to speed test, speedtest.net remains the better option, because it allows you to choose test servers. That way, you can choose the best, nearest server to you. In internet speedtest, the only way to determine your true speed, is to test it on a server nearest to you. Other speed test services default to servers in the U.S. and so on. You can never determine your true speed that way. this is completely false. i'm sure if you think about it a bit, you will see the error in your logic. i don't know why you guys on NL repeat this fallacy all the time the sites you are going to visit, download from, stream from e.t.c, are not located around you, nor are they hosted on those servers. testing them will ALWAYS give you better figures than real life usage will give you. this is like running 10 meters in your sitting room, timing it and then extrapolating to say you are faster than Bolt. you are only testing your connection to ISP. under normal use, your internet traffic is YOU --------> ISP ---------> iNTERNATIONAL GATEWAY ------------> DESTINATION GATEWAY --------> DESTINATION SERVERSo how can you be testing your speed at just the 1st hop? funny thing is all the servers you test in nigeria are owned by ISP's. do you know how ridiculously easy it is to fool a speedtest? that is why you will be doing speedtest of 25MBps, but downloading on IDM (multithreaded) for 1.5Mbps same connection, same time if you are in doubt, change your speedtest.net server to one located abroad and see if your figures don't immediately halve. Even those Local servers, test different ones and see how the results vary wildly. you can't compare mainone server to airtel's server for instance..... PS: i learnt of testmy.net from an network engineer working for an ISP. that is what even they use to troubleshoot their service What makes TestMy.net Different?
TestMy.net will provide you with real-world broadband speed test results in real-world conditions. We stand for the consumer not the ISP so TestMy does not inflate scores to make your provider look better than they are or host our test servers on the edge of ISP networks. Our speed test servers are configured to maintain quality of service for thousands of miles and are hosted in locations where many popular websites are hosted. We believe this is a more accurate representation of your true speed. Most Internet consumers don't think about the Internet service providers responsibility in peering beyond their own network. Many Internet providers send users to their own internally hosted connection test. When you surf the net, how often are you visiting a server within your hosts network?
Read more → When you normally buy something do you trust the seller to inspect it for you? Then why would you trust your ISP to test your Internet...
If you notice the 'TiP' or Test in Progress data on all TestMy.net download test results you'll realize that numbers can easily be altered without lying. It is common practice among other speed tests to calculate the result based on incomplete information. Other speed tests showing the maximum speed or average speeds can be HIGHLY deceiving, even experienced technicians can be tricked. The fact is, if the information used to calculate the result is altered... the result is null. The final score presented to you by TestMy.net takes everything into account, from start to finish. Nothing is altered. The 'TiP' data is also shown so you can interpret the results the way you want. Remember, TestMy.net is a third party and has no vested interest in your test results. Your ISP can't say that.
Routing Distribution
TestMy.net has a network of servers. If you suspect a connection issue use "Servers" at the top of the page to test against other locations. This can help diagnose whether an issue is due to Internet routing or if it has to do with your home network and/or computer itself. |

pheesayor: Finally I'm testing ntel on a swift modem I unlocked, I'm in Yaba and with extra antenna on the modem I'm getting one bar and moderate speed. Speedtest is attached. @4llerbuntu is yours similar to this? I will test for two days before deciding to fully deploy
Who else is using ntel in yaba? speeds average that TBH. But SPeedtest is not showing your real speeds. Its just testing the ISP servers connection to you. If you want to know your real speeds, use testmy.net or fast.comis this a MiFi or router? if MiFi, what does the antenna look like? can i see a picture? where did you get it? |

AjanleKoko: Which device did you root? I don't think the app would have anything to do with whether the device is rooted or not, as long as your APN settings are correct. i've taken it up with Ntel directly and even they are clueless on the matter so i've given that up. the app won't login on the phone no matter what, and they say the app is 'not compatible'. which is BS, but i don't have time to waste on irrelevant shit |

i have an ASUS Zenfone Laser ZE550KL it supports ntel bands. worked fine with LTE on Lollipop firmware. when it received an update to Marshmallow, it stopped working with Ntel. wouldn't hold a signal. i have stumbled on a solution for that on this page: https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-116511-1-1.htmlit involves using fastboot to flash this modem file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5kaWlZcQC-TTnpYMVZ5VGdTaHM/viewjust thought i'd share in the slight chance anyone else has same issue. USUAL CAVEATS APPLY. O.Y.O i am not responsible for anything, neither do i have any solutions for you in the event of a screw up. all i know is, i'm on CM14 and i can now use my ntel sim inside my device. thats all Edit: should probably add that for some reason it works fine in sim 2 and not in sim 1. I have no idea why |
