The ntel router is not locked. At least for now grin

From what I've been seeing on this thread, you can expect them to change it within the next few days since they always stalk this thread grin grin

Put in any other sim and configure the APN from the dashboard

That person looking for 'Deep flash cable'

My advice to you is to not be silly and lose your device. The so called cable is only for when your device is completely dead and that's even a gamble sef.

If all u need is to get your device into Qualcomm diagnostic mode to flash it then what you need is to boot into EDL from fastboot mode

Boot into fastboot, open cmd.

Verify fastboot mode with

"fastboot devices"

Then type

"Adb reboot edl"

If all of this is over your head, then you better forget this thing.

If that does not work for you (it does on every
Qualcomm device) you can try the easy tool in this thread

http://en.miui.com/thread-290959-1-1.html

Let me repeat again, if any of this is over your head, it's best you forget the idea. Nobody is going to be going back and forth with you if you hard brick your device.

If you want to unlock your device officially, it does not matter how long you wait, the only official way to do it is to flash your phone to CHINESE DEV ROM and setup the device as per normal using your PHONE NUMBER and not email to login to Xiaomi services.

Then activate find me service and make sure you can locate it on a browser to be sure your device has been registered.

Then use the tool to unlock bootloader.

From dev rom you can flash global stock rom with recovery to go back to global rom

BTW, you can actually flash the stock fastboot rom with fastboot by flashing individual partitions e.g

Fastboot flash system system.img

And so on for each partition, thus u don't even need EDL mode sef to flash the device.

They have also introduced "Fair Use Policy"
Which means they now throttle. Unfortunately, no one knows how much is the limit before throttling.

But the example on their fair use page says 2Gb, so maybe that's it.
Anyways, it will be good for them to be transparent and truly disclose their terms on this fair use matter.

anyways, Que Sera Sera. my upper limit for subscription na 10k.
Now They've passed that price point, I can't see find any reason to continue with them. I no fit use am for phone call also so......

I'll split my 10k between Glo and MTN 4G.

if Spectranet wants their old customers back, its time to make the plans from 5k eligible for free Nights.......

Be careful to not allow your plan autorenew

And dont tell them to assist you to renew, do it yourself. In case you are thinking of continuing this suffering.

We made that mistake at my office and they activated another capped plan . Now the data is finished and story don start

Today the experience is that one line has been fluctuating all day.

whilst my personal line has been working fine.

i even swapped the sims in both devices to see if it was a device issue, but thats not the case.

therefore in the same location my own line in my Mifi is working (DNS issues as usual so its intermittent), whilst the other line inside Ntel router has not worked at all today. the data connection keeps going off and on every 5 secs.

make my sub sha finish make i fokoff

ComputersRe: Ubuntu Linux by 4llerbuntu(m): 7:29am On Apr 07, 2017
Except that's not what they are doing.

Read between the lines. They are nuking the entire consumer desktop thing.

They just can't drop it outright because they have support agreements to honour for a few years.

They sacked 3/4 of the desktop team and all of the UX team.
That's not a company focused on "going back to what it used to be"

Just keep enough people to maintain the LTS for it's shelf life and do a basic respin of gnome that can serve as a base for anyone who want to use Ubuntu with a GUI.

Best case scenario is a Red hat type of thing. There's a reason you don't hear anyone talk about redhat outside Enterprise.

The real problem is this is taking the whole Linux consumer land back several steps . There's a reason why most tech companies don't take Linux seriously enough to support it. Ubuntu has been the only one that's gained a bit of traction to get support.

The limited GPU drivers support Linux gets is directed at Ubuntu as a target for instance. Even Skype for Linux is mainly targeted at Ubuntu. It's easy for everyone to have a standard base. But the community and GNU folks decided all out war was the best way to handle Ubuntu.

Who is going to waste time and resources in doing stuff for Community Projects? U think Nvidia and co are going to continue wasting effort producing blobs for Linux?

Even projects like Steam are in a spot of bother now. They now have to fork and maintain a custom Linux from scratch rather than just put add-ons on ubuntu.

Because best case scenario is that Ubuntu itself on the desktop becomes a community project. Mark has decided he has lost enough money supporting a project without traction and a lot of opposition.

Great day for Linux tbh. Nice job everyone

PS: spare a thought for those Linux Mint idiots who used Ubuntu as a base and kept spreading FUD and trying to say they were better than Ubuntu.
Now there's nobody to hold their dicks for them whilst they pee. Wankers

Crazy news today.

Ubuntu is abandoning the Unity desktop and going back to Gnome.

https://insights.ubuntu.com/2017/04/05/growing-ubuntu-for-cloud-and-iot-rather-than-phone-and-convergence/

For me, this is where I definitely part ways with Ubuntu. I am terribly disappointed.

I really dislike the Gnome desktop so .

Guess KDE neon has me now.

I'm so sad. It's weird, I never thought I was attached to it like this.

I can never trust anything Canonical does or promises anymore.

That is what big Companies do, When they produce a new product, They sell it all across there show rooms first before officially lunching it into the market.. Don't be a dumbass by calling me liar!!!

What exact parameter are we looking at? This is mtn ph and last test was 4.5MB/s
The first 2 color bars

Showing the dBm

Lower dBm means stronger service.

In your screenshot it's ok. 101dBm and 17dBm. It's green and yellow.

Will still drain your battery small Sha.

Compare with my shots where it's red and 121dBm and 3dBm

If service is really great you should be between 60 and 70dBm or even less sef.

If you change to GSM only you'd see that you'd be getting that level.

ok teach me - i have never really bothered with understanding the implications of bands

is there any best band for devices?

can this be set on regular routers or would you require fancy firmware [ddrt/tomato]?

right now i am maxed out at 1.3mb/s
I think this is only possible on phones.

I've never had a standalone GSM or LTE modem that could peg bands. And I dont know if there's DDWRT or Tomato for modems .

Besides I think Ntel and Swift are the only Network providers using more than one Band in Nigeria.

So if your phone supports both bands, it's possible to force it to one particular band.

Rule of thumb is the lower the spectrum, the better the signal *Usually*. Not all the time.

That's why band 900Mhz will travel further and be stronger indoors compared with 1800.

Also why Glo 700Mhz is a really good band for them, consistently better signal strength potential.
PhonesRe: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by 4llerbuntu(m): 10:38pm On Mar 30, 2017
At my place.

Both bands.

Obviously a terrible idea to use at my end. Both bands service is fringe, if not non existent

I think everyone should endeavor to try test the network at their ends like this.

If it's red and low signal, best forget about Ntel. Rather than spend your time complaining about 30kbps.

Like I said earlier it seems they are using few masts to serve large areas so what gets to most places is fringe service.

There are days and times when it gets stronger a bit. So you think service improved but not really, especially midnight/early morning when airwaves are a bit clear.

By contrast my workplace is very close to one of their masts so it performs waaay better in that place when they are not on their usual general downtime.

PhonesRe: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by 4llerbuntu(m): 9:59pm On Mar 30, 2017
Around Alagomeji.

Now switched to Band 3 1800Mhz

Performance is MUCH WORSE

PhonesRe: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by 4llerbuntu(m): 8:54pm On Mar 30, 2017
Interesting app......

Seems it's this band 8 900Mhz that is in most places I go.

I think it travels further than that Band 3.

Which explains why their signal is so bleeped. They have low number of masts to serve large areas

The update is for stable rom. 8.2 is a stable rom. If you are one stable rom, you can only get updates for stable rom. Same thing applies to developer rom.

The current rom version of developer rom should be 7.3.30

i think band8 no longer works in that area. my mifi supports only band 8 and it doesn't get signal anymore. only the phone that also supports Band 3 gets signal
