Why would the private sector come in when the sector is not deregulated? |
@Cabali I heard he will be fit for the weekend. |
@kitaun You don dey sound bonkers You never recover from that Mendez shot.I told you that Drogba will add to the misery ![]() Its all the refs fault. Is it the ref that put you in 4th place? We won comfortably in normal time. For most of the game we were leading 3-1 and it was only when Lita scored in the 85th minute that I was worried. When una win Bolton in extra time,u no congratulate Bolton |
We all know you will be coasting to the title in 4 years time .Untill then allow others to take all the available trophies |
@debosky By not sending off Diop for 2 clear yellow card offences? I didn't hear you complaining after the game against Wigan Tonite the ref gave Bikey 2 yellows and still he remained on the pitch. |
Thanks for the congrats. ![]() You are one of the few Arsenal fans who has not lost his mind The match was similar to our league match with Reading .3-0 up and then pegged back to 3-2 |
It was comfy for me.After the 6 th minute I was convinced we will be in the Q F Why are you hanging on desperately to what could have happened? Yeah ,u could have been on top of the league but you are 4th,could have beaten PSV but you lost. Ref cheated Fulham? That is rich coming from a team that has been awarded more pens than any of the top 4 teams |
@debosky You obviously didn't see Saha's shot that hit the post in the 9th minute What could have happened is not important, what is important is what happened |
debosky:it could have been 4-0 after 9 mins when Saha hit the post. The fact is the match ended 3-2 at the end of 90 mins We effectively scored the winning goal in the 6th minute You won 3-1 in extra time Did Bikey not get 2 yellow cards and still stayed on the pitch? |
@mukina2 we won relatively comfortably.I remember you guys played to extra time during your time. The game was over after 6 mins |
kitaun:this guy is sounding more deranged by the week.I knew Arsenal drives its fans nuts but I never knew it was up to this extent |
debosky:you wish |
Omo Eko is Spanish . |
Seun:They will say they can't grow products since the markets for them have been closed due to "trade restrictions".They will always have something to say so I thought I chip in this excuse for them b4 they say it |
Generation of electricity is part of our power problem but it is not the only one. Up to the Babangida adminstration, power generation in Nigeria surpassed power demand. We have a huge problem with distribution of electricity. This problem can be solved with Govt deregulating the electricity sector and allowing private investors to generate and supply electricity. The problem of costly power supply can be dealth with by the Govt subsidising the power companies in respect of residential users.Commercial users can be made to pay the full price. There is the suggestion that allowing privatisation will hit Nigerians in the pocket. The current system hits Nigerians in the pockets even more.47 years of Govt mismanagement of the power sector should teach us that the Govt is incapable of running the sector. |
There is an underlying premise on which some of the argument on this thread has been based. That Zimbabwe is under some form of trade trade ban, embargo or other trade restrictions from the West. This is nothing but a blatant lie There is no ban, embargo or other trade restriction on Zimbabwe at the moment. The sanctions against Zimbabwe include ban on arms sales, travel ban on prominent members of the Govt, suspension of development aid, suspension of IMF/World Bank programmes, freezing of private bank accounts of members of the Govt None of these restrict the ability of Zimbabwe to trade and should not be used as an excuse by apologists of the regime Zimbabwe was in economic crisis way before the land programme and the programme only served to accelerate the decline.Living standards had been falling since Mugabe attained power and inflation was always a major problem.-See this article from 1998-http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/special_report/1998/12/98/zimbabwe/226990.stm |
justkunmi:Wenger has never won a match against Mourinho, even with his best players. With the players he fielded,he could sustain yet another defeat in the hands of Mourinho and escape embarrassment. The youth players were a saving grace It seems the FA plans to punish Arsenal players more than Chelsea for the fracas-http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2007090372,00.html |
You know funny enough,a girl told me that most Nigerian men are famous for trying agressive sexual ploys on women. At first I was angry but with time I came to realise that there might be some truth to this. I don't know,I guess the women are in the best position to answer you.Expect this thread to descend into a farce with nationalist sentiments running wild ![]() |
@kITAUN What about your predictions of a 3-1 ,2-0 victory on Sunday |
kitaun:Exactly! Why do you think your boys will be any different? I remember back in 99/2000 when we won the league by 16 points. In that season, fergie used to play some matches and win comfortably with youth players(Greening,Chadwick,Higginbotham,Stewart e.t.c)We all thought they would make it,they have all disappeared. There are numerous examples like that. That is why it is ignorant to think that because some players are shining at youth ,they will simply make that step up.That is far from the case and the reason why I think it is not a given that these Arsenal youngsters will make it. Many won't and some will leave . NB:Pique is on loan and a regular at Zaragoza in LA LIGA while Rossi is at Parma on loan(he scored at the weekend).Jones and Spector have been transfered |
I wonder how you can suggest Henry (£11 million), Pires(£6 million),Viera(£2 million) are Arsenal's youth products By that measure Robben(£11 million) or Ronaldo(£12 million) are youth products of their respective teams. When these people where there,Arsenal was winning trophies and was always in the top 2.Things are different now |
Donzman:So explain to us how Zimbabwe ended up in this state? You talked about trade bans and restrictions which don't exist.I have asked you to explain these alleged trade bans and restrictions. |
Donzman:@Donzman Eziokwu? I don't know of any trade bans on Zimbabwe(perhaps there aren't any). The sanctions involve ban on travel, freezing of personal bank accounts, freezing of IMF/World Bank programmes(a good thing from your perspective knowing how much you criticise them),freezing of arms sales(another good thing) No where have I heard of such trade bans or restrictions.Could it be that there are none? Please enlighten us |
debosky:32? debosky:We will see indeed Just like we saw on Sunday,a game you guys predicted you will win.If you are wrong about recent events, highly unlikely you will be right about events few years from nowdebosky:The FA Cup and League Cup(which you couldn't win) rather. Where we building? No. Many of our players are experienced pros(apart from Rooney and Ronaldo) some of them dating back to the 95/96 era(Scholes,Giggs,Neville) .Our experience offers the best guide to a truly enduring and successful youth policy. You better learn from us ![]() debosky:Sure,Anelka was presumably not young enough.A group of foreigners(some can barely speak English) will show loyalty to a N.London club even if they are not winning trophies.Oh boy,I admire your optimism ![]() I suppose everytime we knock Arsenal's performance,we have to expect to be told to wait for the future. At some point the facade will vanish and reality will emerge. This as someone pointed out is like one of those IBB's transitions. You can keep waiting while others set about the important tasks of winning trophies and making their club a more attractive prospect for young aspiring footballers |
@Donzman Is there an export ban on Zimbabwe? |
loyika:This is the refuge of the disconsolate Arsenal fan. They dismiss the mediocrity of today on the basis of a purportedly bright future. This is the same thing Wenger did at Monaco and ended up getting sacked. I have a strong feeling that the youthful experiment at Arsenal has been overhyped. When Fergie carried out a similar experiment in the 95/96 season, his youth team won the double.Far from winning the double,Arsenal's youth team has contributed to their current 4th position The expectation is that in the next few years, these young players will make the neccesary progress as to displace Liverpool,Chelsea and Man Utd.To do this requires to 2 essential things- 1)Maturity into top class players 2)Loyalty to the club It is one thing if they mature,it is quite another to convince them to stay on.Some players will go the way of Henry and stay and some will go the way of Anelka and leave. Most I suspect will go the way of Kiabe Diawara(who remembers him),Francis Jeffers e.t.c and never make the grade One integral aspect of Man Utd's youth success was that the players were brought up through the club academy.A factor absent in Arsenal's case.Contrast Ronaldo's eagerness to leave with Beckham's determination to stay.Would Denilson still be at Arsenal if they don't start winning trophies? I suspect this is not Man Utd of 95/96 this is Leeds Utd of David O'Leary(remember them?Average age was 22). |
@Uche Mo ran into the field and Whinger ran after him ![]() Adebayor brought out a gun from his hair and was quiclky disarmed by Abramovich Toure had a hand grenade which he threw at the Chelsea fans but it was a dud You should have seen it ,it was total mayhem |
Afam:Iran is a signatory to the NPT,Isreal is not and was never a signatory. Isreal is a small nation(pop.7 million) sorrounded by bigger nations whose leaders at various times in history have threatened to "drive them into the sea" Iran is a big nation (pop.70 million) that does not share any boundaries with Isreal, they have no territorial disputes with Isreal and Isreal has never made any claims to Iranian territory. Strange thing is,Iran's Arab minority is severly persecuted and is involved in a small scale insurgency. While Iran is busy championing the rights of Sunni Arab Palestinians in public, their local Sunni Arab minority is rebelling back home |
@atiku07 a.k.a olodo This na the third thread you dey start on the same topic.Do you want to drive Arsenal fans to the point of suicide? |
I predicted earlier on this forum after the PSV game that the next 2 weeks were going to be traumatic for Arsenal fans. They face being knocked out from all the Cup competitions. Arsenal fans don't appreciate how far behind they have fallen. They have bought into the flawed idea that they don't have to win anything yet since they are bulding a new team . By the time most of those young talents fail to mature and the best leave for bigger clubs where they can actually win trophies, they will realise that they have made a huge error |

You never recover from that Mendez shot.I told you that Drogba will add to the misery
) and it took them 4 years to get back the groove. So i have no problem with my team, as long as Wenger is the Manager, we will rise up
