Fabregas is an attacking midfielder and he will be judged on that basis. On that basis it is appalling that he has scored fewer goals than Vidic. Where were you when Guillem Ballague and other luminaries in the Spanish media were calling him for him to be dropped from a starting place in the national team? Best player his age?You are having a laugh .He is going to be 20 this year.Is he better than Messi,Sergio Aguerro? |
@topic Better alternative indeed, especially if the alternative is actually dead |
Does it mean he can't still play Squash? Sometimes the political class suffer the after effects of their looting. With Hospitals seriously underfunded, ailing pols have to be flown abroad and sometimes that might mean the difference btw life and death |
@Loyika a.k.a Is Carrick A Holding Midfielder? You Arse-anal fans never cease to baffle me with your football illiteracy ![]() Are you still suffering the after effects of McCarthy I remember last season,Arse-anal fans were going crazy over Senderos,I thought then he was overated.I think I have been vindicated |
@Loyika At Spurs he was a holding midfielder.Whether he gets forward or not is irrelevant.Compared to Keane ,he is the quintessential holding MF.Keane was a box to box player that often left the back 4 exposed. Its little things like this that let you know the football afficionados from the rest. |
loyika:@Loyika A holding midfielder plays in front of the back four .That is what Carrick does.He starts from a deep position that means he can't get enough onto the positions that will allow him have a shot at goal What do you think he is?An attacking midfielder No wonder you support Arse-anal.You don't even know what a holding midfielder is? |
@Loyika When Mendez,Drogba and McCarthy scored those goals, you went scurrying like a rat in a cesspit, blaming PC malfunction I wonder whether PSV is going to cause another PC malfunction for you ![]() Tkts are out for Arse-anal End Of Season Party. You all know you are winning nothing this season |
@kitaun Keane,Makelele,Carrick were all holding midfielders. The correct comparison should be with Lampard,Scholes |
mukina2:Na Kitaun Papa.Remember he was crying for Loyika when we were having the beef? ![]() |
kitaun:Same as it is in the English Language |
Abiola wanted to be President,he died.Abacha wanted to continue as President he died It seems at every transition, political heavyweights drop dead |
LoverBwoy:If it is prolonged,it will. The "tumble" seems to be a correction in the markets after stellar growth. It will soon blow over,we had a similar thing last May and it did not affect Nigeria Should be more worried about how political developments might the market. If we have a smooth transition then expect a bullish market. |
Afam:In making decisions on matters of national policy, reality is more important than "ifs".Sure,if corruption was greatly reduced,I would trust the Govt to revamp the power sector but 47 years of betrayal has thought me to accept reality The reality is that the Govt has mismanaged every aspect of the country;education,power,policing,health,e.t.c,.I see no reason to belive that the immediate future is going to be better. While we live in this reality,I would prefer the private sector to take over the running of our power sector with Govt providing subsidies to ensure low tarrifs for private consunmers. The Govt has neither the resources nor the track record to manage the power sector. The money spent over the past without results acts as a tax on Nigerians. |
Seun:This is why you can't win an election in Nigeria.Politicians are giving out firearms to their thugs and you are offering sticks and gongs ![]() Which Ministerial post will you give me? ![]() I would like to be the Minister of Embezzlement and Matters Ancillary To Looting ![]() |
Akolawole:United play more attractive football than Lille If there are 4 English teams in the Q/F,UEFA will see to it that 4 don't make it to the Semis by pairing 2 against each other in the Q/F |
David Beckham is a walking billboard. If people continue to buy merchandise due to him,so be it.He was a great player during his time |
@Donzman Not even China thinks that it is right for N.Korea(a nation where 1 million have died from starvation) to acquire nukes . Given that Iran is the first nation since the end of the 2nd World War to threaten to wipe out another nation, given Iran's record in the region(its support for terrorists groups ),i don't support their attempts to acquire nukes. |
@Christino You can't call the likes of Sheva overated cos they have done their bit,age is simply catching up with them. The fact that a player cannot continue to deliver as he hits 30 years does not make him overated. The most overated ones are the young ones ;Fabregas,Torres e.t.c By the way, what has Owen Hargreaves done that makes him a £17 million target ? |
All these people asking for British teams, are you British? Colonial mentality Why would anyone rather watch Celtic Than AC Milan,Liverpool rather than Barca,Chelsea rather than Porto |
All that is balderdash. It is interesting how elderly people are sceptical about love |
A hopelessly deluded bunch |
The country is so dysfunctional that politicians feel free to brag about their wealth in public. If he is worth $2 billion ,that puts him in the rank of the world's richest people ahead of the likes of Oprah and Malcom Glazer(owner of Man Utd). There must be a lot of patients in Kwara |
Nigerians and their sarcasm @davidylan Don't you know he is a medical doctor?Maybe he runs an extremely succesful medical practise |
I don't think Mikel counts yet .He has not had a full season in which to judge. Fabregas for me fits the bill.He has the potential to be a great player in the future but as things stand today,he does not justify the hype sorrounding him. His future potential has no bearing to his current level of performance. |
@Loverbwoy I suppose if Wenger signs Babel,it will be hailed as another mark of his "genius" in finding youth talent |
