Eratosthenes learned the distance between the two citied were 5,000 stadia apart, that is about 800km.

Then, using simple proportion,

Since 7.2degrees is 1/50 of 360 degrees,

800 ✖ 50 = 40,000 km

Therefore, the KM.Tic scientist made use of a stick and their brains to invent a clock whilst using it to prove that the Earth is spherical.
