Few months ago, i opened a thread on how we both found out we were both of AS genotype and how we couldn't stop having sex. Well as against some advices here, we didn't stop having sex until this past weekend wen we found out that she's pregnant.

I remember the month after we found out about the genotype, she told me she told her parents that she's gon get married to me no matter what, they practically begged her not to, telling her different stories of SS children they know

We haven't told anybody about the pregnancy yet . We are scared every single one of them will blame us and think we did it intentionally just to get married.

I love her and I'm sure she loves me too buh this pregnancy, the tot of it alone being SS is scaring the shit out of us.

We don't know what to do

As for having Ss or not that shouldn't bother u at all, a friend of mine her parents were Both AS, they gave birth to 7 Children and Non of them were SS (although they didn't know d repercussion then)

Then one day, i started making researches, and through it, i got to know that there are ways ariund it, tho expensive but worth it. I told my babe and we both agreed to go ahead with it.

We have decided to take the expensive way to make sure our dream of spending our lives together come true. Op, you should try and do same IN TIME, to know your fate

One of my last two post before this even clearly stated it is possible to have AS couple having 5 children with all being SS. I stand on the 75% probability , dominant and recessive genes have a negligible effect on that, as it could increase or decrease the probability.

I will try to relate that with Messi playing penalty, if we say the chances that Messi will score a penalty is 75% , it means, it is very likely he scores 3 out 4 times. He might as well play 4 penalties and score all , or even play 4 consecutive penalties and miss all. The likelihood tilts to the former. There are roughly 30% of sickle cell traits and carriers in Nigeria, and several decades there was quite little education, if the likelihood of having sickle cell carriers by AS couples was not 25%, i bet it would have been serious catastrophe than it is now.

The chances that if you step out of your house everyday and come back alive is not 100%, in actual fact the chances are reduced in some geographical areas. Science and technology are there to help us think and get better output. We should not be too fixated and rigid in thinking. The probability that someone will clock 80yrs in Nigeria is not the same for another individual in UK. I am sure you know which one has a higher probability. It is not logical to try and belittle that fact by stating someone died young in UK and another lived long in Nigeria, hence the probability is false.
