Mnuchin himself is not qualified for his position. He’s only there because he knows Trump. What about the tax evasion speculations against him? He’s hands are not clean either. He should focus on restoring US economy instead of quickly installing a stooge he can use to milk AFDB dry after his tenure is over. If Nigeria pull out of AFDB the organization will crash.

You see?
The poster is one of the reasons Africans cant ever be independent and will always be slave to the West.
Let us not even dabble into whether Adesina was guilty or exonerated, let me ask: Can any African Treasury Secretary or Minister intervene or interfere in thwat goes on in America? Can an American Minister disagree with the Probe that exonerated Trump and his cronies of interfering in the 2015 election? Canan African President disgaree and reverse Trump's sacking of those "Five Inspector Generals' whose job is to ensure that the Executive Arm (Trump) does not violate ethics or play according to the rules?

Yet here is an American Treasury Secretary trying to reverse the decision of an "Afrcian DEVELOPMENT Bank" that has no connection whatsoever to America?
And you are jubilating like the ignorant slave with the I.Q of a dolt, over what your 'master thinks'?
Why are some Africans so slow, like this
?

Does it not occur to you or anyone for that matter that this INTERFERENCE is just another attempt for the bullying Trump Govt to muzzle Afrcians and their post-covid developments into submission?
AFDB is an independent and wholly african bank, it is not funded by the U.S treasury so what is their business, if a properly constituted panel investigated and found their President NOT GUILTY as alleged?
To America, he MUST be guilty, by hook or crook and prevented from winning a second term.

This shows any sensible African that these Americans are as much our enemies and any percieved Chinese negative influence in Africa.

America has identified this man, Adesina as one of the prodigies driving African renaissance and they would do anything, just anything to destroy him, like they did to Ghadaffi, when he was champeioning the need for Africa to unite and stop using the Dollar to to trade, among other things.

I am not suprised we have people like this poster as Nigerians, people who look down on themselves and will lick any smelly hole, as far as it is that of a white man.
Shame on you Bro.

Shame on your for wasting your time typing all this tripe. Mumu, China is not America's competition; it's the EU. Stop trading with dollars and trade in Yuan? Hate will blind you. Even Asian countries are not trading in Yuan.

When you take time off typing rubbish online, review some of China's loan contracts across the continent; you'd see who your real enemy is.

Well there are so many ways to look at it.

It is all part of international politics
Exert pressure here extract a concession there.
America is not happy with Nigerian position on Israel/Jerusalem
Even if Adeshina is reappointed he would be compromised.
America would likely be pushing other African countries to throw their hat into the fray.

That is why Nigeria needs to be more forceful in controlling its backyard

Correct. Adeshina is a clean fine gentleman. We all should rally round him and protect him. This is how it should be.

But we know if it were an Igbo man,we know how you and your people would've condemned him already! We know how you people will call for him to go clear himself!

We know how you people condemned air peace boss,Onyeama, when he had a fathom allegation laid against him!

You in particular,I know how vocal you were against that Igbo official that had issues with his PhD Cotonou University program!!!!

Same thing you would have done if Adeshina was Igbo,God knows.

May God see him thru.
\

You iGBOS and this your "Victim Mentality" sef!
No one is asking you to support Adesina if he is actually guilty, Yourba or no Yoruba or Nigerian.
ADESINA HAS CLEARED HIMSELF BEYOND DOUBT.
Yorubas rallied round Air Peace CEO, and even chided the Fulani, Nigerian Govt for not using him to repatriate Nigerians from the Middle East, USA and China.
Yorubas still remember his "good deeds" when he freely evacuated Nigerians (mostly Igbos, notwithstanding), from South Africa.
But if Onyeama or Adesina gets involved in any financial fraud, Yorubas wont stand by either of them, even if his father was Awolowo.

Yourbas are the greatest critques of themselves and they are noted for not shielding a criminal of their own, so why would you expect them to shield an Igbo criminal?
It is ony Igbos that do this CATALYTIC, ETHNIC PARAPOISM and since criminality is not always far from them, it is understandable that they would be seeking the blind support of Yorubas and wail a lot, if they dont get it.
It is also understandable that Yorubas, noted for not acquiescing to such banal and premordial sentiments, will not oblige them, NOR OBLIGE ONE OF THEIR OWN.

My advice, stay out of criminality, if you want the support of Yorubas, be you Yoruba or Igbo.

If there are now too many Nigerians in leadership positions in the bank, it will make sense.

If there are now too many Yorubas in leadership positions in the bank, then that is clear nepotism, and he must be removed.

Anyway, an independent team will be far better, at determining what has really happened

Are they not at risk of not being "independent" enough? Where several countries are involved will such a team be acceptable to all

One thing I can be sure of is that any team that is directly attached to AfDB is definitely not independent enough.

Africa is something else. Look at how the supreme court of Nigeria now seems to be working hand in hand with the executive, and delivering judgments favourable to the executive.

I saw a video of Chinese expatriates in Zambia been accused of treating Zambian workers Inhumanely just because of covid19, they were asked who is more likely to have the virus between Chinese and zambians and he never answered he even refuted that the virus came from China. This is how they stand up for their own but we are so quick to be happy when our kinsmen are goin down maybe as a result of ethnic bigotry or whatever. What a shame. Dimwit!

U regurgitated an ignorant n baseless statement which I promptly destroyed with facts.
Now u changing the goal post...
During Adesina's tenure as President, Nigeria has the 3rd highest number of employee despite being the largest shareholder...
France has 65 senior staffs working at the bank.....(5% of total staffs), despite insignificant shareholding....

Now a Nigerian is doing the right thing at the bank....
and all u could do is lament about your personal misfortunes......
As if anyone cares....
If u don't have anything meaningful to contribute, abeg carry your lamentation elsewhere....

Below is what is really making the U.S angry at the AFDB and its Nigerian President, they are just trying to use this fake corruption allegation to arm-twist the Nigerian President, to achieve their sinister objective.

https://thehill.com/opinion/international/447703-the-us-should-ask-more-of-the-african-development-bank-before

It does not help that the AfDB has chosen to have its annual meetings in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea on June 11 – June 14. Anyone who has read the classic book “Tropical Gangsters,” would recognize that the government of Equatorial Guinea is probably one of the most corrupt in the world. Other MDBs often choose largely democratic governments and reforming governments for meetings like these, so the timing and selection of Equatorial Guinea is not good.

In addition to a changed Africa and hosting the annual meetings in Malabo, the President of the AfDB, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, is up for reelection next year. One must assume this is on the leadership’s mind and that President Adesina wants to get this increase done before his reelection.

However, shareholders are going to need to ask some serious questions. The U.S., as a major donor, does not have the same vote and influence in the AfDB as in other multilateral development banks (MDBs). The U.S. and other large contributors that are nonregional shareholders do not get as much voice and vote for the money they contribute. At the World Bank, the U.S. has 15.7 percent of voting power and a de facto veto, and the U.S. does not hold a similar veto power in the AfDB. The U.S. has 12.7 percent of voting power at the Asian Development Bank and 30 percent of voting power at the IDB, yet only has 6.649 percent of voting power at the AfDB.
grin grin
Regional development banks operate better when they follow the “golden rule,” which is: Whoever has the gold makes the rules. Unfortunately that is not the case in the AfDB. Instead the institution is largely controlled by regional members (the borrowers) which have 58.89 percent of voting power. This limited accountability of the donors in the AfDB creates structural tensions that will continue to exist as long as the current distribution of voting power is not addressed.

First, holding that AGM in Equatorial Guinea was the handiwork of Buhari, that country contains its best Fulani population and a lot of our forex has been donated by Buhari to his Fulani brothers in that country.
Adesina was under pressure by the Nigerian President to hold the meeting there.

Secondly, America is trying to arm-twist the bank into giving it more control so that it can manipulate the financial ability of the bank to help african countries and as you know, with Donald trump, it is either my way or the Highway.
he loves to bully and arm-twist Govts into submission.

Africans must be wise and not jettisson a good leader/President of their bank, based on decietful and fake allegations sponsored by America. africans must be very wary and should resist any attempt by Trumps Govt to further make them submissive and groan under the white man's influence.
America is not happy with the influence of China in Africa, it wont help yet it wont allow others to help, though the Chinese are criminals.
Enough of the bullying, Mr. Trump

2.Adeshina

3.AfDB"s shareholders

Why is this so important to Munchin? Mind you Munchin is a man who doesn't care about middle class or poor here in the US..... talk much Africans.

He has openly countered them many times.

It dosent take a genius to see that this is an hostile take over by colonial nefarious powers.
Any attempt to remove him should be resisted.
