'Listen, Sam. I've told you before and I will say it again that whatever madam wants you to do, do it.'

'But what she is saying is out of place and ... '

'Sam, listen to me. Are you listening?'

'Yes, sir.'

'Anything my wife as you to do, just go ahead and do it, but remember you're to keep everything secret. Remember the oath you took.'

There was no need Sam said anything further on the issue. It was obvious the chief and his wife had schemed everything together.

'Okay, sir.'

'Yeah. Good night.'

Chief Kashi disconnected the line. Sam was still puzzled about the whole thing. Well, he shrugged. Why was he bothering himself? Why didn't he just watch and see how the situation would go? What would be his stress in doing the simple thing madam in conivance with her husband had asked him to do? He shrugged again.

'Anything the problem?' Bisi asked.

He tried to grin. 'Oh, no. There's no problem. She remained with him through out the night and only left the next morning. Once again, she and Sam had a frolicking time together.

A day after San had given Jenni money to go for abortion, she was yet to do so. The fact was she did not want to do it. She was scared that the number of times she had done it was many and doing it one more time could pose a great risk.

What after all this, she found it difficult to conceive when she finally married? It had happened to some ladies she knew. What if this unpleasant experience should be her lot?

But Jenni knew it would not be easy for her to make Sam change his mind. For now, the guy was simply not ready to settle down for marital life. For the umpteenth time, she wondered when she would be.

After closing for work today, she would have gone to Sam's house. As a matter of fact, she would have taken an extra cloth with her in the morning before she left her aunty's place. But she did not. Today, she was not keen about going to his place.

She would rather go back home. By few minutes to five, she was opening the door that led to the one-room apartment of her aunty. Her aunty was still a spinster at almost forty. This scared Jenni and she always prayed never to experience spinsterhood for that long.

She changed her clothes from the blouse and skirt to home wears. She had hadly settled down when her phone rang. She checked to see the caller. It was Mr. Babatunde, the principal of the school where she worked.

'Hello, sir,' she greeted.

'Good evening, Jenni. I didn't know when you left.'
'I left as soon as the school closed.'

'I see. I was thinking that you would give me your answer before you left today.'

Jenni chuckled. Mr. Babatunde was close to fifty and had two childre. He told her that he lost his wife about two years ago and would love to marry Jenni. The age gap between them was almost twenty-five, although the man looked strong and young for his age.

Jenni was not comfortable about that yawning age gap. Besides, she had told the man about Sam, but the man said she should think about it and give him her response.

'I'm very serious and I'm ready to marry you in the next three months once you say yes,' Babatunde had said.

'Do you still need more time to consider my proposal to you?'

Jenni was certain she needed time. 'Yes, give me some time.'

'Okay. How is everything?'

'Fine, thanks.'

'Okay, bye.'

Jenni sighed. She imagined leaving Sam for the older man. Would that be an act of desperation on her part or what? Since the man appeared more zealous, would it not be better if she left Sam?

From all indications, Sam was not ready for marital commitment. Why not give Mr. Babatunde a chance?

Few minutes after four in the late afternoon, Madam Dupe Kashi signalled that she was ready to leave her second shop. That meant she had called it a day. She came to sit at her usual position in the car. Sam started the engine immediately.

'Before you drive on, I need to ask you about what we discussed yesterday evening.'

He had long been anticipating this. As a matter of fact, he was quite surprised that she not had broached on the issue since morning.

'What do you say to it?' she asked.

He had decided to play along and damned the consequence.

'There's no problem, mada. I called the chief about this matter yesterday. Just like he said, I will do whatever you ask me to do.'

She beamed in smile. 'Very good. There's one more thing I didn't discuss with you: you will be adequately compensated for it.'

He nodded. 'Thank you, ma'am.'

'Okay, now that you've agreed to play along, there's no need to waste time further. Drive to Ketu.'

He engaged the gear and joined the main road. The traffic was already bad, so it took almost an hour to move from Opebi to Ketu.

'Drive to Demurin Road,' she instructed. Close to Alapere was a small hotel located at a discrete place. That was where Sam was asked to stop. He parked on the parking lot and they got out.

She must have been there before, for she behaved like the place was familiar. They went to the reception hall.

'I'll like to book a room for the night,' she told the receptionist.

The lady behind the desk told her how much it would cost. Madam Kashi paid promptly. The receptionist brought a pair keys from among the bunches that were on the key rack.

'Room 12. First room by your right on the first floor.'

'Thank you.' Madam Kashi and Sam went to the room on the first floor.

She undressed slowly before him while he feasted on her curvy body.

'Thank you.' Madam Kashi and Sam went to the room on the first floor.

She undressed slowly before him while he feasted on her curvy body. When she was stripped to only bra and pantie, she climbed on the bed.

‘Well, what are you waiting for?’ she asked.

It was as if he was still in doubt over if he could take her offer or not. But, was it not late for him to back out now? Had he not crossed the Rubicon and there was no turning back?

He sighed and got to UnCloth. Now, she lay on the bed and it was her turn to watch him as he undressed. He went on to fully unclad himself.

He could see her staring at his half erect prick. She was wondering what a big organ he was gifted with.

He moved to her on the bed. There was no need to show any inhibition again. Gently, he kissed her soft lips. At the same time, his hands went to her bust. She was well-endowed too, just like Jenni. He unstrapped her bra and caressed the boobs.

From all indications, she seemed to be enjoying what he was doing. He kissed the nipples and nibbled at them. Moments later, when he removed her pant, he saw that she was dripping.

Wow, she was as much ready for the action as he was. By now, his dick was fully erect. He parted her legs, leaned over her and inserted his dick. It was a slow and steady entry. Her cunt was ready for him. In a slow, steady rhythm, he beeped her.

‘Oh, Sam. Uhn … oh…’ she moaned.

He felt on top of the world. Somehow, he felt he had accomplished something great. Pinning the wife of your boss down and making love to her in that domineering way gave him the thrills of a life.

Five days after taking treatments from the traditional doctor, Guba was feeling much better. His recovery, he believed was divine.

He also owed a lot to the herbal doctor who had given efficacious drugs that led to his recovery. Guba was indeed glad to be alive. If not for the timely consultation he had made and the timely treatment, going by what the native doctor had said, he would have been a dead man by now.

But he had survived and he had learnt his lesson.

Or so, it seemed.

Three days after Sam gave Jenni the money for abortion, she finally decided to terminate the fetus. What was the point of keeping it when the man responsible was not ready to accept paternal responsibility?

Her biggest challenge now was the overtures from Mr. Babatunde. Should she give in to the man? Since the day Sam had given her money for abortion, she had not been to his place. The truth was she had no zeal about going to his place again.

That his last action had in a big way dampened the affection she had for him. Something came to her mind. Maybe she should tell her aunty the dilemma she had found herself. Later that evening, when her aunty returned from her hair dressing saloon, Jenni decided to tell her.

Rhoda listened to the story very attentively. After Jenni had finished, Rhoda mused over what she had said for some seconds.

Later that evening, when her aunty returned from her hair dressing saloon, Jenni decided to tell her. Rhoda listened to the story she had to say very attentively. After Jenni had finished, Rhoda mused over what she had said for some seconds.

'Among the two men,' Rhoda said. 'Who will you say is showing more commitment than the other?'

Jenni didn't have to think much. 'I'll say Mr. Babatunde.'

'Who is showing more keenness about marrying you?'

'Mr. Babatunde.'

'Then go for him.'

'Really?'

Rhoda gave a chuckle. 'You're asking me. Is it not obvious? Is it not better that between the one that is ready and the one that hasn't even made up his mind, the one that is ready is better?'

Jenni got her aunt's logic. The woman was right. That very moment, Jenni decided that she would accede to Babatunde's proposition.

* * *

Guba was glad that he was recovering.

Religiously, he had been taking the concoction the native doctor gave him. It was now he was very certain that the native doctor was indeed a powerful one. It was not that he had doubts before, but this latest episode removed any reservation about the fact that the medicine of the man was efficacious.

He had started getting better, although he still needed some rest. After he had fully recovered, he must not forget his vow to stay clear of married women. He had learnt his lesson.

By the following week, Guba was strong enough to return to work. He had many work waiting for him at the workshop and he had to do extra work to cope with it and to finish the work on time. But he decided to do things at his own pace. He would not be rushed, no matter the urgency the customer attached to the work.

He was working on a Mazda car when Bose, the bread seller came around. Guba found it difficult to believe that this pretty woman was the source of his illness. How could it be that he contracted a strong ailment from a pretty woman as this? The whole thing was a mystery, from the ailment to the recovery.

'Oga Guba, good morning,' she greeted.

'Good morning, Bose. How're you?'

'Fine.'

He still bought a big loaf of bread from her, but he would henceforth limit the relationship with her. Bose lingered with him, probably hoping he would invite her to his home for another time out, but he did not.

* * *

Sam called Jenni.

'Hello, baby. You've not come around for days. Hope no problem,' he said.

'No problem.'

'So, why have I not been seeing you?'

'I need to think my life over.'

He laughed over the line. 'Jenni, dear, what are you thinking about your life?'

She was crossed that he found that funny, so she didn't say anything.

'Any way, how're you?'

'Fine.'

'Think fast and come around, baby. I'm missing you,' he urged.

He should have noticed that she was cool in her responses; that indeed, he was giving her the cold shoulders, but Sam in his nonchalant attitude didn't notice.

He sighed and grinned. That meant tonight he could have Bisi again. He had been having a jolly time with her since Jenni had stayed off. Bisi was wild about sex and he could not have wished to have a wilder partner.

But he knew what existed between them was that mutual desire to satisfy lust and that it would not go beyond that. He also hoped Bisi perfectly understood that. This evening, he had just parted from Madam Kashi after being holed in the hotel room with her for about two hours.

The woman was not a bad lay, and he always felt excited whenever he slept with her. She was his boss' wife and there was an inexplicable triumph anytime he slept with her.

Besides, the woman was good in goading him on, moaning his name and jerking her body in pleasure.

'Baby, what's happening?' he asked. 'I hope you're okay.'

'I'm okay.'

'So, why didn't you pick my call? And why didn't you come around?'

'Our relationship is over, Sam,' she blurted out. 'Bye.'

She cut the line. He was astonished. What was she talking about? What had come over there Jenni? He called her line again, but she did not pick it. Wait a minute, was Jenni really saying it was all over between them? Did she really mean it?

When she refused to pick her call, he decided to send a text message to her. Baby, tell me you're joking, he wrote. He also sent a WhatsApp message to her. She did not reply any of the messages. He became angry. If she thought he would go to her and beg on his knees, then she was making a big mistake. Sam would beg no lady, no matter how beautiful she might be. Didn't he have ladies at his beck and call? What arrogance was Jenni now displaying? Nonsense!

Four weeks after he had recovered from his ailment, Guba was full of life. At his mechanic workshop, he really must face the streams of mechanical work that were coming his way. He had not heard from Sam for some time and neither had any special assignment come from him.

He was however getting good and steady income from his workshop.

A Honda car was driven inside the workshop. A woman neatly dressed in office wears came down. Guba quickly left the vehicle he was working on to attend to her.

'Good morning, madam.'

'Yeah, good morning. My gear box has a problem and you should fix it.'

Guba nodded. 'Is that all.'

'Yeah, I think that's all.'

He nodded. 'That is no problem, madam.'

The woman had brought her car around before, but she was not a regular customer.

'I'm going to work. By evening, I'll be back. Do the work well, please.'

'No problem. Your car will be in perfect condition by the time you come back.'

She handed the car key to him and was off. In his mind, he decided he would bill her high and get the best from the deal. Though Guba's charges were always high, he was good in his job and always gave customers satisfaction.
