not in a land owned by zulus... How can there be racism in a comtry in Africa, when the whites there are not aborigines..
Racist attitudes have nothing to do with ownership of anything. I can have a strong dislike of Chinese people but end up getting a job in China. Use your brain please

What I meant in that context was, 30years ago, China was one of the poverty-stricken nation in the world and has managed to change that narrative in just 10years
They are currently NOT ordinary, so that label is not suitable anymore

We don't have these kind of streets in nigeria because we are not ready to pay the kind of taxes that would fund and maintain those kind of streets.

In the UK, if you are living in the city, you pay council tax which ranges from 60000 to 100000 naira monthly depending on the city. That money goes into making the cities look nice

That's why uk cities have great streets.

If we charged that kind of tax in Nigeria, Nigerians would scream.

So we pay scanty taxes and get scanty and bad roads

The bad roads we have in Nigeria are what we can afford. The sad thing is that looting still happens on top

Bross you made a valid point but you cant compare apples with oranges.
The council tax you quoted is about 7.5% of the living wage in UK. If you want to compare like for like then you should expect council tax in Nigeria to be less than 3k per household since 30k is the living wage in Nigeria.
Tax in Nigeria, especially in the big cities is comparatively higher than in the west.
Let's be pragmatic economists and not 1+1 economists.

Start with building a house that connects to a drainage...

So what has APC done to develop nigeria? If PDP "stole almost everything", can u tell us what was left that they didn't steal? Is it what was left that buhari was using to fly to UK for medical treatment?

According to u:

PDP is "doing nothing to develop the country". Kindly explain

It also has a rooftop pool, which offers one of most of the most iconic views in the world. Nigerians leaders loot the country blind to enjoy this kind of luxuries. Former Governor of Bauchi and former National Chairman of PDP, Muazu moved to Singapore to enjoy his loot when Goodluck Jonathan lost the election.

How many times do you want to be reminded that Abuja is a glorified village but a city by Aboki standard?

Where is the downtown in Abuja? The Central district which should be a beehive of activities (as depicted in your pictures) is a ghost town and looks haunted at night.

You are Contemplating the abominable, joining politics and becoming a governor would effect no change.... Even budha and gandhi as president Na wash...
The system is corrupt and lacks accountability,we need a total overhaul in our three arms of government, restructuring and change in constitution to make everything workable, you talk as if it's just becoming a governor and making fine roads, lol before fine and maintained roads was a working goverment.
We need to review everything, goverment wages and salaries, armed Forces entry requirements, training type, allocations, industrialisation etc
It so unfortunate that at this level, the only way to achieve this is through the chaos of revolution seeing that the senate/house of assembly would never agree to it,you can say we are doomed....... France,us etc had revolution to triumph evil before becoming great

Restructure or burst...
True. 10 years and people are yet to come to terms with Nigeria's 'it is what it is' syndrome and think there's magic wand policy somewhere.

In as much as our leaders are very corrupt, we have been made to examine and judge the situation of our country one-sidedly.
Corruption is a two way thing. If Nigerians leaders are corrupt then UK leaders(Western leaders) are also corrupt for continuing to collect loots decades after decades from the so called "third world" countries of people living below poverty line.
All these buildings and roads are built and maintained from exploiting the resources across Africa, if not how did these countries look like before interactions with Africans and the colonisation of Africa?
Nigerian leaders don't act indepently if they do why do the so called advanced and civilised people that preach human right, good governance, NGO, sustainable development continue to open their doors to the corrupt leaders from the "underdeveloped" country? Won't that seem contrary to what they preach?

Until we realize that our undevelopment is not only due to bad leadership and that we need to find it root cause and profer indigenous solutions, we will keep comparing.

I hate people who fail to accept responsibility for their failure

You sound like an APC member because they always look for who to blame.

For your information, some of the pictures in this thread are locations in Africa.

Stop that blame game and admit that the man in the mirror is a monumental failure.

I agree with you to an extent on unwillingness of our part to pay huge taxes.
But don't you think if you are paying huge taxes and you see RESULT ,somehow that will calm your anger .
But even as of now, what result so you see for the ones being paid in Nigeria?

There is a great difference .
One country is putting resources to use
Another is embezzling hers

If we charged that kind of tax in Nigeria, Nigerians would scream.

Even Ancient Benin is even more organized than some cities we have today, and our people, I included, are not organized.

I found what appears to be the ancient city of Benin. Their street was ordered, we can see maths in their design.
