I love Real Madrid because of Zidane then because ppl say I play like him.

Prior to 2005, I hate seeing the league being monopolized by Man United and Arsenal FC. So I was praying a club come one day to scares their dominant in the premier League.

Gbam 2004 Mourinho came, and he made my dream came to reality. I was so happy.

Since then the blues for life.

May 19, 2012 we won the champions League where Arsenal are still struggling ....

Here is how it all started.

Around 2005/6, I remember buying complete sports news paper at least once a week (was sold for 30naira then).

I just loved reading at the time and would read anything I laid my hands on; I loved to do so to broaden my horizon about life. I had been very curious since I was a kid.

So, Everytime I go through that newspaper and other newspaper's back page, I always glanced at the Beclays English Premier League Table and one team seems to always remain at the top, week in, week out. They never drop, at most, they slide to the second position and the following week, they back up and the club name is Chelsea (keep in mind, I didn't know nothing about club football outside of the Nigeria national team at the time), so it always fascinated me how one team kept up at the 100% pace and there are always 3 players names that always shows up amongst the highest goal scores namely: Didier Drogba, Hernen Crespo and Frank Lampard.

I took interest in the team, prior to then though — I had always heard of Barca and how skillful Ronaldinho was, but I never watched any of their laliga games. The EPL domination in the Nigeria mainstream media then; actually indulged my knee interest in the EPL hence, the need to follow up on a team in England.

Subsequently, i started seeing weekend match highlights of how Chelsea FC dominated the league, my goodness.... I was thrilled by their "conquer them all spirit", and I figured these guys took advantage of counter attacks superbly, so you better not be sloppy when playing them — I later learnt that the manager was a no nonsense person and very sensitive hence, they nicknamed him "The special one", I just kept falling in love with the Club. I would design my school books with the club name and players names alike.

Suddenly, Chelsea and Barca are to square up in a champion league match and it's time for me to pick whom to pledge my allegiance to.

I picked Chelsea and have remained with them ever since. And shout out to the owner, Owner Roman Abramovic. A machevellian business man who has taught me a lot about business with the way he manages Chelsea.

Arsenal the story is a lil long let me summarize lol.


So I have been a football fan for over 2 decades now my first World Cup was France 98.

Back then in the 90s I use to watch a lot of epl highlights but I just don’t know how to support a football club but then came the 2000s I developed a soft spot for Arsenal Cos of Kanu that one of my uncles nicknamed me Arsenal but I wasn’t a fan then just wanted them to always win,still remember that league cup final loss to Liverpool courtesy of a Micheal Owen brace arsenal were the stronger team then but Liverpool won the game the Likes of Emmanuel Petit were so sad after the game I was sad too but it was a good game of football so we moved.

Fast forward to 2005/06 before then my sister got me a Ryan Giggs Jersey so I kinda liked Man utd at that time especially Cos of Van Nilsterooy and Dwight Yorke But I just don’t know how to commit or pledge my loyalty to a particular football club...couldn’t understand how people do it back then...I do ask bros abeg how do you guys get to support one team now,I once asked one dude who was a Barca fan he said one just gat to pick a team he fancies and stick with them for life.... i said ok.



So this is how I became an Arsenal fan I add a friend around 2005 who was older but a staunch Arsenal fan and due to the fact that I was very knowledgeable bout football as a kid people see me as a football encyclopedia..they ask me historical questions,footballing events etc I was just so knowledgeable..so my friend wanted a football brainy like I’m to support his team as at this period Kanu already left so I wasn’t really for Arsenal anymore..he kept propositioning that I should join his club..so there’s a particular match between Arsenal and Man utd then so I told him I was gonna pick between the two teams..He then said if Arsenal wins you join Us if they lose then you can become a Man utd Fan.Arsenal won and that was it...Thierry Henry also played a huge Role in this Cos he was simply unbelievable at that time he was heads and shoulders above every other player in the Epl then.Plus Arsene’s name rhyming with Arsenal and being the coach was Just absolutely cool.Most importantly Arsenal played beautiful,Free flowing,eye catching football that you don’t get to see anywhere in the Epl even in Europe then it was frank riijkard Barca team around 04/05 who played a similar style.Arsenal played enjoyable and blissful that you just got to love as a football purists.

The signing of Roberto Carlos in 1996 made me notice Madrid but I followed AC Milan, then the Champions League final in 2000 vs Valencia made me call Madrid home. Carlos too me there but Raul and Cassilas made me stay and ever since I have not been disappointed. I have had my share of ups and down but it has been fulfilling.
