Rugaria:
At the rundown airport in Kano, food items destined for the south are being stopped
and confiscated by supposedly accredited government officials of the airport! This happens openly and in the full glare of the watching public! It obviously means that the evil, devilish and wicked scorched earth policies of this evil regime to cow the south and force folks to allow killer herdsmen run amock down south has the tarcit support of the rogues at Aso rock! This country is in a major crises, instigated intentionally by the Buhari regime, a regime that will go down in history as the most vile and the most inept on the face of the earth..

Moving forward,. It is now time to open the borders and allow folks to buy foodstuffs from neighboring african states! The government can not close the borders, invest massively in dams and irrigation in the North, then turn around to help northern farmers impose sanctions on the south. We are not going to starve because the fulanis don't want to sell! It's now time to make the importation of beef an open venture. Many countries have beef of better quality and at cheaper prices too! Folks need to protest to be allowed to import the food they need and stop talking about the boycott of beef! Beef is an essential part of a complete diet! And luckily for all humanity, it's not the fulanis that only produces this..?

It seems u not getting it,the Northerners have joined dem cause dey have conquered dem a long time ago,do u see any Northerner not supporting fulanis

Northerners are our problem

@ emboldened for a staple food with more than one substitute

Pork, Turkey, Guniea fowl, Chicken, Fish, Egg, Bush meat, Goat etc.

Note: Fish is imported into Nigeria and quality can easily increase

I ask again. Where has this your economics realistically played out.

You can't take beef out of the market. The market can't boycott it and action will continue nly continue to take a toll on price.

Think you have to get an estimate of cattles slaughtered a day in Nigeria, then from there, you can start thinking about what happens to all the consumer's.

I unwarranted boycott is foolish, baseless and stupid. Rather, stakeholders should be on the table storming about a resolution.

The Lagos State Government has advised residents not to panic over reports that trucks conveying food from the North are stuck on the way.

In a statement, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, assured Lagosians of food security despite the crisis.

According to him, there is no need for anxiety.

He was quoted as saying this while appearing as a guest on “Daily Digest with Jimi Disu”, a programme on Nigerian Info 99.3FM, on Tuesday.

Omotoso said the government was not ignorant of the food supply situation and assured citizens that it would not be allowed to become a crisis.

Asked what the government was doing about the matter, he replied, “The government is aware of the situation and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is on top of it. He has initiated steps to ensure the matter is resolved by the weekend.

“I assure you Governor Sanwo-Olu is on top of the matter. There will be a meeting. He will tell both sides to embrace peace in the interest of all.’’

Someone was trying to compare $1 and NGN500

The reason food is cheap in naija is simply due to cost of production

By the time you start importing it, if it's high quality you'll pay a premium or else you get those artificially made GMOs that cause cancer. So we better solve insecurity, injustice and corruption to live together as a strong nation

I don't understand the point of your argument anymore bruv

The suppliers decided to pull out supply from the market and create artificial scarcity for a political reason.

The suppliers should be informed that the market doesn't work like that as the market will eventually move on after the initial shock.( if you have their Number)

It's the suppliers that will lose opportunity to earn money in the process.

Especially when there's enough substitute to their products.

Those selling the substitutes will also make a fortune in the process because the demand for their products and price of their commodity will increase.

If the cattle cartel are on strike because the cattle cartel were accused of responsibility for deaths caused by herders, and the price of meat has rocketed, is there now a corresponding crash in average farmer deaths caused by herders from peak period ? In short, have deaths by hearders stoped?

Whether someone lied or not, it's none of my business. When Seriki Fulani Yewa and his family were chased out, it was done in broad daylight, not in the night. If fulani wants to ever be courageous, let them attacks during the day and not in the cover of darkness. Until they can face the people one on one without running into the bush like a blind rat.

Tell him once again, what happened to those cowards when they couldn't escape into the bush..

Move-on from beef grin. Where has this happened?

Suppliers will lose while consumer's pay through their nose. It's a lose-lose

Like I said, price will only continue to go higher and consumer's will keep paying.
