i weep for this nation cry. Nigerians will remain under the siege of corruption, tribalism, bad leadership, under development and poverty until we are ready for positive change. there's a need for depature from the way things are now . from the views and opinions shared here we are not ready for a change. make no mistake GEJ is not a messiah but a continuation of the norm. it's going to be 4yrs or more of corruption and business as usual.
God save and help us through these years . Fresh air indeed

@carreytommy. I had an interesting chit chat with an okada man who carried me this afternoon.
Jimmy boy : Are u voting tomorrow?
Okada: Yes o.
Jimmy boy: Whom are u voting for tomorrow?
Okada: That one dey my mind.
Jimmy boy: I know , but just tell me.
Okada: Jonathan now, who else?
Jimmy Boy: But why?
Okada: aha, yoruba don do their own and fail, Hausa don do their own and fail, now it is Niger-Delta turn to their own an fail too.
Jimmy Boy: Are you from Niger-delta ?
Okada: Yes na.
Jimmy Boy: But how did you know he will fail?
Okada?Aha, how he no go fail with all those people around am?
I paused at this juncture, I knew he was talking from a very wrong perspective, but I could not fault his logic. I just hoped there are not too many of his likes out there. If every tribe or region has to fill is quota of failure then our generation will be lost too. THINK my people.

One day, a corrupt Senator was tragically hit by a car and died. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance. "Welcome” says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, you have to spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you choose wher, e to spend eternity.” St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course, a clubhouse in front of it are all his friends, politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy. They run to greet him, shake hands, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They played a friendly game of golf and then dined on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises, the elevator goes up, up, and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him. "Now it's time to visit heaven.” So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They had a good time. St. Peter returns. "Well, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.” The Senator reflects for a minute, and then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down to hell. Now the doors of the elevator opens and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage, all his friends dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders. "I don't understand,“ stammers the Senator."Yesterday I was here, what happened?" The devil winks at him, smiles and says, “YESTERDAY WE WERE CAMPAIGNING.TODAY, YOU VOTED, ” Hey everyone, I hope you found this as amusing as I did. But don't miss the point, LOOK BEYOND THE SWEET TALK AND VOTE RIGHT. (AS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY IT IS BB FOR LIVE !)

Eleven Reasons Why You Should Waste Your Vote On Jonathan
April 15, 2011 - 14:36 — siteadmin
By Safiya Musa

One, he’s the kind of president that will vote N10bn for 6 federal universities but will give N30bn for the entertainment industry. They say it is a loan but is the the entertainment industry the most endangered? What about the health and education sectors?

Two, he’s the type of president that will vote N1.3bn for furniture in less than a year after his house was renovated for him and a similar amount spent by the deceased president on the same house? Insensitive? Selfish?

Three, he’s the kind of president that will provide intervention fund for the textile industry and less than one week later lift the ban on the importation of textile!

Four, he’s the kind of president that will increase the age of cars allowed into the country from 10 to 15 years when governments all over the world are spending billions to eliminate high carbon based carbon from the society because of
negative impact on the environment.

Five, he’s the kind of president that will set up six universities premised on a silly reason that every state should have one, created additional three when all the existing ones are in a state of uselessness due to huge under-funding?

Six, he’s the kind of president that will waive and allow duty free importation of rice into the country, denying our local farmers the revenue, the support and the patronage needed for growth; all in the name of politics. Even Baba Iyabo was unhappy and could not believe that we import rice with so much local production going on.

Seven, he’s the kind of president that will consider creating an airport in each state of the federation when the existing international and local ones are in ruins and taken over by goats and cows. Please visit Kano International Airport at night and see whether you won't have to read psalm 23 for safe landing.

Eight, he’s the kind of president that will spend an entire $4.5bn in excess crude oil account in less than eight months; arguing that the account is illegal but the people have not seen anything he did with the money. Na wa oh!

Nine, he’s the kind of president that will spend N10bn or N17bn on an anniversary with nothing to write home about. Ghana spent less than N200m and the impact is still on 2 years later – I still dey vex for this one!

Ten, he’s the kind of president who under the guise of raising money for election keeps the price of kerosene and AGO at over N130. Well, it’s good for the masses. Na only no queues at the filling station una dey see?

Eleven, he’s the kind of president who will spend so much money on a carnival like campaign around the country without spending time to reflect on the number of children without shoes, without books and without food. Or are poverty stricken people no more in Nigeria?
In sum, the guy does not have the capacity to lead us. Many say he’s nice. That’s true but so are children; but if we allow them to lead even our houses, we can only harvest destruction.
Besides, who wants a nice president? Nice neighbour, yes; nice wife, yes; nice friend, yes. But a nice president?

WEEP NOT: THE PEOPLES GENERAL

Candidate of the CPC in tomorrow’s Presidential elections was addressing a world press conference and mid way into his moving speech he broke into tears, the crowd erupted into wailing and tears.
Images of weeping General is not a news in the Nigeria media ( e.g Gen.Diya cried for his life after the infamous coup to overthrow Abacha, Gen. Obasanjo and Gen. IBB wept publicly at the loss of their wives). What makes General Buhari’s case different is that while the other GENERALS wept for their Lives and that of their loved ones; the Peoples General is crying for the Nigerian state. He wept for a nation wallowing in hopelessness in the midst of resourcefulness and poverty amidst plenty. He wept for a nation whose endowment and natural opportunity for greatness has been squandered by the reckless opportunism of the political class. Buhari wept at the irony of the Nigerian state: ocean of gas but no power, 5th largest oil deposit yet world largest importer of refined petroleum,80 % arable land but the world largest market for imported rice, toothpick etc
Buhari by his tears has joined the list of the nation’s foremost statesmen driven by emotions on their campaign trail. Sadly, this is the path our greatest minds have engaged in the course of a great and arduous struggle for our national liberty: Awolowo wept for the nation, Abiola wept and more recently Gani Fawehinmi wept for Nigeria in the 2003 elections. When Jesus wept, he raised up the dead (Lazarus). When Nigeria’s statesmen weep, they ask the question: when and who will save the national flag? Will Nigeria allow another generation to be on the WASTED GENERATIONS LIST?
I personally have high respect for the cause and patriotism; as well as the abilities based on past records of the worthy BB gentlemen. Tomorrow’s presidential election is an awful decision moment to our dear country, Nigeria. I consider it as a decision on the continuity of the status quo or CHANGE. Buhari/Bakare has only one lamp that is swaying my vote for them and that is the lamp of experience and integrity. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. Does the PDP have anything new to offer after 12 years in office? Association of looters can never produce saints; no matter how meek or humble they look. TRUST THEM NOT,DEAR FRIENDS…they have resorted to religious and tribal entreaties and humble supplication to cover up their corrupt and blood sucking fangs that they have used to snare our feet and collective wealth in the last 12 years.
If we wish to be free. If we really mean as a nation to get those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending…for wish our great statesmen both living and dead have been so long engaged and wept for publicly. WE MUST VOTE THE PDP OUT! We must vote for a leadership that will make just and efficient use of the resources which GOD has placed at our disposal. There is no retreat but in continuation of the status quo. The battle is for the vigilant, the active and the informed to spread the message across to others. I know not what course the others might take but for me and my family: BUHARI/BAKARE IS THE BEST CHOICE FOR THE MOMENT!
