You are called as a follower of Jesus Christ - not of Moses, Abraham, Joel, Hose, or even John the Baptist - not the old Covenant prophets. So when Jesus Christ spoke to you about fruits, you are expected by God to trust and obey His(Jesus Christ's) teachings and commandments.
