The problem is, the snake poison spreads quickly all over the body, so sucking it out won't have much benefit anyway....which is why rushing to hospital is the preferred alternative.

Also, not all the poison may be broken down like that if you swallow it, and some side effects are still possible.

Finally, the wound could also get infected...mouth bacteria. Another round of problems.

When a snake delivers a deep bite into your body it is practically useless trying to suck any venom out, unless your mouth is the strongest industrial vacuum known to man lol. Your best bet is rushing to a hospital and praying with every fibre in you that they have the antivenom for the snake....

The late Ogah Bercy a Nigerian Airforce Officer dies after she was bitten by a poisonous snake at her residence at NAF Base Bill Clitton Drive in Abuja.
According to her explanations before she died, she went into the toilet and was bitten by a snake. She took her child and her cousin to a neighbour's house and she drove quietly to the NAF hospital for treatment, And was told that the person with the keys of the store where the Anti-venom drug was kept was not around.
The Air woman died on the 19th of November from the complications of the snake bite and because the venom has already spread all over her body before the Anti-venom drug was administered.
Sources revealed that snakes have been seen many times at the NAF Base compound and there was fumigation at the air woman's block, but because she was not around, her room was not fumigated. The snake found its way to her room as the safest place since other blocks where fumigated.

the hospital contributed to her dead. Could you imagine that the doctor said he is waiting for key to open the drug store in a hospital like NAF HOSPITAL abuja? Is the door made up of gold that can't be broken to save life? You are watching somebody dieing but you are stupidly waiting for rubbish key. This girl decided to serve her country as a soldier, and some quack unprofessional doctors and nurses succeeded in killing her. We were together in Maiduguri for how many years and nothing happen to her until she reach abj . the chief of air staff should sanction all the people involved, starting from the hospital commander.

NAF: Nigerian Military have always been incompetent right from time in the discharge of their duties and the incompetence flows down to their medics so it doesn't come as a surprise.
