It's OP observation and opinion....and there is good deal of truth in what he says....just that he should've coated it a bit and not just put out the bitter truth which so many find hard to swallow. It is a fact that in the Western World qualifications is not everything. Right or wrong... the fact remains that corporations especially do pay much attention to image/looks when hiring. They look to hire attractive and pleasant people. It's not only Nigerians but the same apply to the locals..but like OP said...the Nigerian as a foreigner has to be above the locals to be considered. Most ehmm... bloated people on the jobs...both men and women.... got the extras after being hired.OP...u2harsh!
And another self hating nigga.
Can you guys use your brain for once and make reasonable arguments?

How can you make a blanket statement about the physical appearance of a woman being the determinant of how employabe she is without being specific on the field?

i have not been affected im simply asking for more clarity. A simple pic of her would give us a better understand of the group of women you are talking about. I thought its nothing to be ashamed of from the way you put your view across, so why are you making it a big deal now?
If I were you, I'd give up arguing this any further. Sounds to me like a case of a self hating nigga, it's more psychological.

Old thread regardless, one of the dumbest I've read in a while.

No correlation between the physical appearance and qualifications required for most regular jobs.
I've worked with women of all sizes from different countries, from the whales to the skeletons.

Hello house, tomorrow is my appointment day at the Uk embassy. Pls is it advisable to go much earlier or get there some minutes before my appointment time? Pls those people who have submitted, how was it done? Waiting for your response. Thanks
Earlier of course! Funny questions y'all be asking. This is with any interview, would you rather get there within minutes of your interview and you're all disoriented trying to be mentally prepared within the last minutes or earlier and you're ready to go.

I'm not sure how the islands are connected but I'd imagine one island will be good enough for now.

Fajigirl, how much would you estimate as the cost of this trip for a week?

In that case that is noting else you can do other than to visit and see what happens at the POE.

Take documents that will support your citizenship and explain things at POE if asked. The most important thing is to be as honest as possible when stopped and questioned.
Yeah I've been thinking of doing just that. My only hope is that I don't get rejected after planning for the trip.

@justwise,
Thanks a lot for the response. This may sound strange but I've been unable to find a number to call to make this inquiry. Is there a way to get a number for the visa office? I called the Washington and New York office, they don't do visa or take question on such
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by 6packdude: 2:17am On Jun 10, 2015
Hi all, can someone tell me what my chances are with the UK if any. I attended school in England between 2003/2004 then some problems back home and voluntarily went back to Nigeria without withdrawing from school (I was quite young then). I tried to come back later after while school semester was in session and I was denied entry at port of entry and visa cancelled.

Now i'm planning on visiting friends and family and as a US citizen, i know i can just get up and leave but my situation is a lil different. Even though it's more than 10 years, I still worry and feel i need to apply for a visa. I went online and started the application but there's a portion in the online application asking if you ever departed the UK on your own which i did.

Or am i worrying too much and can just buy my ticket and head out there? I don't wanna take a chance because i'd be really upset with myself if I'm denied entry at the airport and then the humiliation, the time, and the money wasted.

Y
Masturbation:
The home based Nigerians who have never been to the airport or flew in an airplane will think America is a paradise on earth.
I lived in San Diego California for 16 years.
Do you think i'm a fool to coming back to Nigeria finally.
I got my American citizenship within my 5th year.

Davido was born in Atlanta,Georgia Usa.
Emma Nyra lived in America for 19 years.
M.I lived in America for some years
Banky W lived in America for 10 years.
What brought them back to Nigeria ?? Are you wiser than them ??
America is living in it's lost glory.
I would pick any european country over Usa.
Sorry this don't count. Oh how about meek mill or rae sremmurd or big Sean. Or the Australian rapper? How about him? How about her how? How about them? There are rag to stardom cases everywhere in the damn world and it doesn't mean jack.

You know why? Not everyone is gonna have that freaking story and these are 1% or less of the population. We're talking the majority here, we are talking your everyday man. We're talking the man you see on the street earning a living and having his basic rights protected.

Until the basic things of live is offered to EVERY Nigerian with no special privilege required just like any sane country out, then your story will start to make sense.

Until then, go figure why every feels normal watching a human get burned in public or why millions still scramble for government jobs. Don't give the few isolated stories bullsh1t
TravelRe: Urgent! by 6packdude: 2:32pm On Feb 15, 2015
It depends on your status. If you're an international student, you'll need an employment verification before you can get one.

Legal resident or citizen, you can simply go to a local SS office and apply with proper ID

Y'all who have no clue about what's going on in America need to shut the f up and face the shithole called Nigeria and let them run you down.

You have no clue what's going on in America, you don't live the life and have no understanding of the life of an average black man in America.

AutosBay:
Take your ignition key and have another one cut.
It will not start the car, but it will open the door.
Then take one screw out of the license plate and put the key under it.
Put the screw back in with it going through the hole in the key, securing the license plate.
The key is out of sight.
If this happens again, you might have to borrow a dime from someone so you can unscrew the screw and get at your key.

(Been there and learned this from the rescue guy from Samaria)
Nice tip sire but some car keys, like mine, are huge and certainly wouldn't fit between the car and the tag

I've had a similar experience. Stopped to check the mailbox right at the apartment building entrance. When I returned to my car, it was locked and I have the habit of keeping all my keys together. Luckily, I had my phone with me and I kept the spare key with a friend. Gave him a ring but it was cold and I had to wait for close to an hour in the cold before he arrived. Ever since, I always make sure I leave the door partly closed when it's running even tho I drive a more advanced car now which doesn't engage the central lock until it's in 'D" and I've moved some feet.

The only thing I'm interested in about your story is the Nairalander you had a date with. And I'm here trying my best to get a date with you cry
