Sanchez01: Every OS platform gives you access to contact list, I don't see Apple blocking those apps unless they were doing their own appstore other than that or pornography. But I might be wrong |

Oga things don't work that way.If you're an app developer you'll understand. There's nothing like order, you report then they act after consideration.Order is a misnomer in this case. They,FG, can order our banks to block the channels and links with them. Walkee: |

qtguru:This is not just contact list. We are talking doxxing on a criminal level and invasive privacy. If Apple or Google PlayStore fails to listen to the government, the FG will simply direct Pantami to instruct all telecommunication companies to block access to the app stores. The Nigerian government is not that wise and calculative to understand diplomacy. Apple and Google will listen without a doubt. As useless and incompetent as our government might be, this is a government's request. It is different from "help me unblock this phone, we want to see what is on it." 3 Likes |

This is going to be interesting. Especially after the twitter fiasco This government is actually stupid enough try to chase out Google and apple in a bid to appear tough. Is this how the foolish telecoms minister thinks he will develop the app space And this clown who was copying and pasting warnings about trojan banking apps does not know that android is open source and you can install apps from outside the Google play store? These clowns do not understand that the end users of loan apps know exactly what the apps will do and give permissions to the apps to access contacts? Las Las the govt of dashing out 5k 5k is looking for another way to collect cut from app developers under the guise of regulation. Also, Buhari is doing the exact same thing putin is doing, ensuring no serious foreign investors will come to Nigeria. Rather than address the big elephant in the room - the dishonesty of Nigerians, they are disturbing Google and apple. |

derecho:Google will comply. They have too much to lose disobeying Federal government. Mind you, google can pull down your apps without negative reviews if it violates their policies. And I'm 100% sure, the most savvy developer on earth don't know all Google policies. That said, it's a question of Google linking it with a policy of theirs. Even more likely is the their activities being subjective to the host government. Just like Binance and all the big service providers. |

So annoying there's no consumer protection law in Nigeria. Why would a loan app be demanding you to pay 30% interest back in 30 days for real and bank can't give you up to 15% in 365 days? Why would MTN charge 15% if you wanna lend airtime from them? Imagine you borrowing 1000 naira, you get 850. Is that not too bad and outrageous? So painful this guys just do anything they like |

If I fully understand this press release, I think it does not affect repaying back existing loans to this loan sharks but subject to equitable repayment terms. Please correct me if I am wrong. |

If I understand the press release very well. I think it does not stop the repayment of existing loans to these loan sharks. But repayment should be on equitable terms to both parties. Please correct me if I am wrong. |
