What is the fate of loan apps who are yet to recover their loan?
Let them use the defamation they have done so far as their repayment

you just want to badmouth Nigeria that's all. Why don't you leave to Cameroon or Ghana?
Tens of thousands of graduates get churned out of schools yearly in Nigeria. Our problem is not education. Nigerians are well educated. Our only problem is the economic system of government which does not align with the psyche of the average Nigerian. An average Nigerian want to be employed by the government, students who leave schools pray for employment the only thing that can solve our problem is socialism. Since everyone wants to be employed by the government why not just hand everything over to the government and let them run it? That will never happen because the West will sabotage it just like they do everywhere else.

The reason Nigeria is in a mess is because Government is handling everything. Anything government touches dies. From Nigerian airways, Nipost to Nitel.

Ghana has steady electricity, the self acclaimed Giant of nowhere is in darkness

They are two different things. That is a breach of the Apple product since privacy issues are big deal to them. What the loan apps do also violates user policy in the worst possible way.

They will be taken off of those stores. Their operations are already barred in the country and it would be worse for them to go after defaulters like they used to, that is if at all they remain adamant.

Every OS platform gives you access to contact list, I don't see Apple blocking those apps unless they were doing their own appstore other than that or pornography. But I might be wrong

Oga things don't work that way.If you're an app developer you'll understand. There's nothing like order, you report then they act after consideration.Order is a misnomer in this case. They,FG, can order our banks to block the channels and links with them.
Walkee:
they will order Google to remove it or restrict its access in Nigeria. Very simple

This is not just contact list. We are talking doxxing on a criminal level and invasive privacy.

If Apple or Google PlayStore fails to listen to the government, the FG will simply direct Pantami to instruct all telecommunication companies to block access to the app stores. The Nigerian government is not that wise and calculative to understand diplomacy. Apple and Google will listen without a doubt. As useless and incompetent as our government might be, this is a government's request. It is different from "help me unblock this phone, we want to see what is on it."

Nigeria is a circus.

Her Leaders, Clowns.

Her People, weak spectators.

As long as Nigeria continues to overlook the demands in critical sectors of the nation such as the educational sector. We will continue to produce presidents/leaders who issue strange orders.

Strange orders that shamelessly define how undemocratic, uncivilized, underdeveloped, retrogressive and uneducated we are.

For the pigdiots saying what happen to unpaid debt, you have to understand their activities are by law illegal and as such there are no debts owed.

This is going to be interesting.

Especially after the twitter fiasco

This government is actually stupid enough try to chase out Google and apple in a bid to appear tough.

Is this how the foolish telecoms minister thinks he will develop the app space

And this clown who was copying and pasting warnings about trojan banking apps does not know that android is open source and you can install apps from outside the Google play store?

These clowns do not understand that the end users of loan apps know exactly what the apps will do and give permissions to the apps to access contacts?

Las Las the govt of dashing out 5k 5k is looking for another way to collect cut from app developers under the guise of regulation.

Also, Buhari is doing the exact same thing putin is doing, ensuring no serious foreign investors will come to Nigeria.

Rather than address the big elephant in the room - the dishonesty of Nigerians, they are disturbing Google and apple.

Google will comply.

They have too much to lose disobeying Federal government.

Mind you, google can pull down your apps without negative reviews if it violates their policies.

And I'm 100% sure, the most savvy developer on earth don't know all Google policies.

That said, it's a question of Google linking it with a policy of theirs.

Even more likely is the their activities being subjective to the host government.

So annoying there's no consumer protection law in Nigeria. Why would a loan app be demanding you to pay 30% interest back in 30 days for real and bank can't give you up to 15% in 365 days?
Why would MTN charge 15% if you wanna lend airtime from them? Imagine you borrowing 1000 naira, you get 850. Is that not too bad and outrageous? So painful this guys just do anything they like

If I fully understand this press release, I think it does not affect repaying back existing loans to this loan sharks but subject to equitable repayment terms. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Good development. If they have to do business here they have to be duly registered. It is because they are operating illegally that they use unconventional methods for debt retrieval. They have to be regulated
So Id*ots are even criticizing the federal government....how do you operate illegally in another mans country. Especially when it has to do with finances.
