Yes ikwere is a major tribe in Rivers state with 3 local governments 1 Like 1 Share |

Wike and Amaechi: sad story in reality. Wike wanted to attract Fulani support by showing that he is tough on Igbos, he went to massacre Obigbo, the Fulanis sat back cheered and laughed! Amaechi, the railway boy, was busy building railway lines into any Fulani country that otherwise would never have qualified for it, except that Amaechi so much wanted to be accepted, loved, and even turbaned by Fulanis. Meanwhile, Amaechi forgot the PH railway lines. Once again, the Fulanis sat back and laughed at a couple of treacherous Igbo men pretending not to be Igbos, because they thought the Fulanis are stupid. Do you ever learn? 2 Likes |

AlexBells:there re 3 brother bini tribes, that arrived there b4 ibo encroachment go red ur history. We did invade d places, we was first occupants, not invaders. Just like d indigenous & first occupants of Australia re Africans hence their pure black people of Australia which re d original owners (,aboriginal) na oyibo come meet them there. Same as igbos come meet ibani people for opubo ( opobo) & bony islands |

D history isn't up to 200yrs old sef. Simply trace genealogy & take ancestral arochukwu & any other person who which to join their in d exodus back to ur igbo lands. Ur lands re big enough. |

I can see that nairaland is full of youths with myopic knowledge about the history of the country where they live. One said that lgbos were sold as slaves by the ikwerres that is why they call them isuoma. He also forget that owerri people calls those from nkwerre and isu 'isuama. I can see that nairaland is full of youths with myopic knowledge about the history of the country where they live. One said that lgbos were sold as slaves by the ikwerres that is why they call them isuoma. He also forget that owerri people calls those from nkwerre and isu 'isuama. Which was a common name for peasants in the olden days, because most peasants comes from isu area. And people from there were mostly the victims of slave trade, because ARO slave machants do captured them from the farm and march them to port Harcourt where they will eventually be shipped to Europe. Port Harcourt itself was a originally owned by owerri people. So because of the density of slave trade, owerri people shifted inward to their present location. So port Harcourt became a slave deport. When slave trade was abolished. The regiment of slaves there which were predominantly igbos and some minor tribes from edo axis and ijaw inhabited the land and became the present ikwerre. IKWERE should stop bully the Igbos. Because the are obviously harming themselves. I am not an Igbo. I'm Effik but I'm not ignorant of our history. If any ikwerre want to know who they really are they should ask go an ask an okirika elderly man. Ijaw that you people are Aligning your self with are even look for a way to move u out of port harcourt. Its the fear of Igbo that is prevent them. When ikwerre people didn't have power brokers like they do today, it was the Igbo that they were looking up to. WHERE WAS WIKE AND AMEACHI WHEN ZIK AND UKIWE MASTERMINDED THE CREATION OF BAYELSA STATE IN OTHER THAT IKWERRE AND OTHER IGBO GROUPS WOULD DOMINATE THE NEW RIVERS STATE.?? 2 Likes |
