Roland17: I'm not sure they successfully arrested him o. I saw on IG videos of the current governor arriving at Bello's residence with his own security and thugs to prevent Bello's arrest by EFCC. |

Itsrm: FPI do not go into the foreign reserves, does it? CBN has not hidden any of their moves, when they are selling $ to BDC at the lowest previous day rate, they publish a circular to that effect. March is the end of the 1st quarter, no one is privy to the debt obligations due in Q1 2024 or forward contracts that has to be settled. |

larride: Yes, FPI inflow form part of the reserve. My point is, CBN is injecting money into the NAFEM window at any price that pleases them. |

Itsrm: Don't mind these folks. I'm truly taken aback by the fierce partisanship introduced into the economic space. Dude kept talking about intentions. Tell us what you are doing, you're yapping about intentions and future. You're not using the reserves to defend the naira but you went to the US to beg for 600m to add to the reserves "between yesterday and today". Yesterday's total volume in the NAFEM is less than 250m. Today is less than 200m. So how are you able to add $600m in two days. Or is there a shadow market besides the official NAFEM window? He should tell us what foreign debt Buhari and Tinubu took last year to drive up our debt service payments that'd make us expend 2B in less than a month. We all know what they're doing, but they've sworn not to be truthful. -Lord 3 Likes |

LordAdam16: You caught that too. Expected him to mention the specific debt repayment that depleted reserves by 2.1bn in 30 days but he just glossed over it saying it happens all over the world. Seeing the joy with which Oasisx shared the video, I expected more 5 Likes |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by OasisX: 9:17pm On Apr 17 |
Itsrm: .....Itsrm-sama, did you actually watch it at all?! He clearly mentioned debt settlements as part of reasons for the depletion. Only intervention that has to do with Naira is his dealings with BDCs. Well, expect to see plus $600m to current foreign reserve. LOL! |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by User09: 9:19pm On Apr 17 |
Itsrm: No he didn't Please watch it again. Infact from the 3:52 minute, he explicitly said " The shift in the reserves has nothing to do with defending the Naira" What else do you want him to say again?. Perhaps he talked about intention which signals to me that they aren't at the moment but may have to if it calls for it But he was very clear that the intention is a liquid, transparent and a willing buyer- seller market determining the price |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Itsrm(m): 9:20pm On Apr 17 |
OasisX: What debt settlement? If he's lying about using 2.1bn to settle debts, what's to say he's not lying about BDCs being his only intervention. 3 Likes |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by User09: 9:22pm On Apr 17 |
Those of us who already understand the market did say that what was driving the reserves was most likely debt servicing which he has confirmed. All I needed to do was look at the DMO website and do some extrapolation instead of just looking at the reserves data. Anybody who thinks cos he was vague means he's defending the Naira should watch from the 3:50 minute and explain exactly what was meant |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by OasisX: 9:23pm On Apr 17 |
Itsrm: .....where is your evidence that he is telling lies?! Lord said he has hurriedly borrowed $600m to boost the foreign reserve and you believe?! LOL! |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Itsrm(m): 9:26pm On Apr 17 |
User09: Lol, here's your bias coming into play. Watch it again. This was what he said. "The shift in the reserves has little or nothing to do with defending the naira" How else do you expect him to spell it out ? Infact, the overall tone is about what he hopes to achieve and not what is currently happening. 1 Like |

‘’We are equally examining what to do with the high degree of unemployment. We must help vulnerable people by providing social security. "We are looking at how to provide allowances for the unemployed, and we are developing ways to boost the purchasing power of citizens with the Consumer Credit Scheme. 'If we remove the cash upfront element to buy a car or a house, we will reduce the propensity for fraud and corruption across the land." - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR |

"Banditry and kidnapping will be defeated. And there is no payment of ransom whatsoever. "We are taking the battle to them. We are getting results more rapidly than before. We are working hard on intelligence gathering. "Those who think they can threaten the sovereignty of Nigeria will have themselves to blame. They have a price to pay. And we are not going to relent.’’ - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by User09: 9:34pm On Apr 17 |
Itsrm: Can anyone else translate the bolded? Or am I reading something else. At the end of the day, we all see what we want to see. But I'll tell you one thing, thinking the CBN governor will tell actual lies to defend something that is already it's core mandate is next level propaganda. The guy knows speculators are like hawks watching the market. Any unbiased person knows what he's saying but again I'll leave you to your convictions 1 Like |

YoshihideSuga: No. Akwa State University main campus is at Ikot Akpaden, Mkpan Enin LGA, while the annex is at Obio Akpa, Oruk Anam LGA. Oruk Anam is the largest LGA so maybe not so much. Like I mentioned, interiors. The neighbouring Ukanafun LGA is a good option. Onna and Esit Eket LGAs might work. Udom urbanised those areas though. Just avoid Eket and Ibeno - oil-producing areas snapped up by the big boys.
Avoid this area. Completely urban. Rivals Uyo, Eket, and Ikot Ekpene for urbanisation somewhat. The refinery is at Ete in Ikot Abasi. The fertilizer facility is close to the Mkpat Enin axis but still in Ikot Abasi LGA. ALSCON and Ferrostal company take up the other expanses. Ibom Power Company takes up the Ibekwe axis after the refinery still in Ikot Abasi LGA. The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) takes up the rest. No available lands for such. Ukanafun LGA might work. ---- Wait a minute... How come you know that axis so well? |

OasisX: I'm quoting him. He is in the US. He said $600m will enter the reserves between yesterday and today. Total volume, and that is the entire volume by everyone in the market in the last two days is less than $500m. So where did the $600m come from if not from a loan? They're expecting $1B loan from AfriExim. Cardoso's statements are not the smoking gun you think they are. -Lord 1 Like |
