It is in the write up as well; just chill, take a break like Biden and face your family, not only the child.

When a child is that sick, it is actually the whole family that is sick and need their father.

Even praying together helps a lot and that requires his presence but political meetings won't permit that. As the head, he even carries more grace to get healing for his child like the govt official in the bible who travelled several miles to see Jesus for the healing of his son.

You can always start from where you stopped in politics but if your child dies or you lose your family, you will struggle for life to forgive yourself even to the grave.

OK. You have responded as to how you would have handled it, differently. But if you'd be honest to yourself, you'll know it wouldn't be as direct as you put it, i.e. leaving every of your engagement to attend to sick child. Without defending Ekweremadu, I can assume he did and felt he had everything under control, hence arranging for the donor, travels and made himself available during the procedure, else, he would have still being in Nigeria when Umoh the donor started the drama. If he wasn't there to give support, he couldn't have been caught up in London.
You have been active voice here on Nairaland, almost every hour of every day, you know how tedious it's been for you..,how much more one who had immersed himself in politics and governance spanning 2 consecutive decades?
I think without bias one can see that as a father Ekweremadu found himself in an unfortunate situation, but as a Nigerian leader who has been close to the top seat he got served bitter pill courtesy his failure and those of his associates like all past, present and some aspiring leaders.

You guys are just saying and commenting trash….the case is not about the boy and ekweremadu anymore rather he is being tried for breaking the law regarding to organ transplant all over the world which is that organs are not on sold rather giving willing by close family Member or relations…now Ike went into buying and selling with the boy that’s why UK insisted on the case to proceed in their country because he broke the law in UK…I hope he Ekweremadu have a safe landing if not he is looking at least 10 years in jail.

No need to keep trying to educate these fools, some of them are adamantly dumb. While some just hate the young boy for being able to make his case with a nigerian politician and might end up a UK citizen through asylum, they wished they were the boy.

Most of the mentions are based on the dislike of the ruling class which is understandable. I dislike the ruling class but we can't overlook the facts. Documents in the public space show he is not a minor and willingly accepted to donate his kidney in return for cash and a live in UK but when it didn't match and the stay in UK wasn't going to work out he raised alarm before the medic who called in the police that a trafficked minor's organ was to be harvested. Now any consent from a minor is null and void so he claimed that and we all went for the Senator's head but facts are beginning to emerge that he is not a minor neither was his consent not gotten. So what is wrong if an inquiry is made substantiate his claims?

How do you know he willingly accepted to donate his kidney?
How do you know his consent was gotten?
