Of course it's too small to relocate that distance if you are a family man, but not bad for a single guy though. It's like starting all over again. You gat to find a new house to rent etc. If the pay is like 80k and above , I would definitely risk it. For similar role here they pay 79k and above. But I learn cost of living over their in Arkansas is cheaper though

Arkansas is a lot cheaper to live than Massachusetts. If you’re surviving in Massachusetts with your family, you should in Arkansas.

Well, wifey is making above that here, so if I have to accept it, I will be the only one going and maybe coming back to visit every weekend. So, it does not really worth it for me. There should be better options somewhere, though it would have been a very good point to Kickstart my career here.

All the best bro. I know Boston has numerous start ups especially pharma but I guess your discipline - radiology is more inclined to hospitals.

Not radiology, but related. It has to do with the use of radiations and safety..something like radiation safety officer etc And one could work in the laboratory, hospitals, government institutions, and so on depending on your specific experience

I actually don't have those issues with winter. Winter is actually my favorite season and I look forward to the snow/cold. I hate heat and love cold..lol

In your case, take your Vitamin D/ C /Fish oil/ Collagen supplements, keep a great medicinal candle burning for great respiration, take enough liquids, great skincare and get a good humidifier - invest in warm clothings, gloves, hats, boots too.

As for jobs, keep pushing and applying - people have dropped enough resources here on that. Came here 2 years ago for my masters, got a job before graduation of over $150k and just had my company/business registered this January. It will all work out for you. All the best.

Hello everyone,

Does anyone live in Virginia, please I have some questions to ask.

It's not been easy, got two interviews same week for same role, health physicist/radiological health specialist.

The first interview went well as they only asked non-technical questions such as tell us about yourself as someone rightly suggested. I got the offer. But it's in another State, which means I will have to relocate to accept the offer. The pay is a little below 50k/annum. So, I feels it does not worth relocating for so I declined it.

The second interview included technical and non technical questions. I did not prepare for the technical questions even though I managed to answer 2 questions correctly out of 5. For the non technical questions I answered all correctly.

So, right now I don't know if they will offer me the job 'cos obviously I failed the technical questions aspect. I will just give them 2 weeks, if I did not hear from them I move on.

I am also considering teaching in the high school, so already I have rewritten the license exam which I passed and I have like two interviews in the weeks to come.

This is my 7th month here it has not been easy looking for job at all. I can't even count the number of applications I have sent out already with plenty regret emails.

I am only working remotely with a non profit organization for now, and they only give me 20 hours per week of work. You can imagine how small the pay is. If nothing sup by next month, I might just get a small car to use as Uber in addition to my part time job.
Hello,
Is your remote work related to what you studied?
