Buhari just dey follow Tinubu to campaign, just to fulfill all righteousness.

Buhari has exonerated Emefiele. So If this APC criminals have balls, the should call out Buhari

That will not stop Tinubu from winning the election because the same Buhari is an ingrate. Why didn’t he win election since almost a decade until Tinubu put him in power . Why now . Why biting fingers that fed him . Is he now that he knows Tinubu is corrupt and don’t want him in power, is he now that he knows their will be vote buying the same vote buying that brought Buhari to power by the same corrupt Tinubu. Just because he has served his own 8 years others can go to hell right. Hmmm Only a man who has performed while in power can tell the masses what to do with their vote .

I am from south west and mind you even most of us from south west don’t want Tinubu in power only few of Tinubu benefactors are making the whole noise everywhere and most of them are politicians whom he has helped , kingmakers, touts and their followers ! Same thing when obasanjo contested we never vote for him. we only want someone who is willing to make a significant difference by reducing poverty rate and make nigeria a better place for everyone.

Mind you the reason why I said Tinubu is winning the election is because of the percentage vote . A winner can only be declared if he or she wins 25% votes from 2/3 of the 36 states which means the percentage has to come from 24 states . Now name a candidate among the aspirants who can beat Tinubu. Peter obi can never win such percentage across those states because of north and south west . Also note that Majority of atiku’s vote is only coming from the north .

Exactly.

I questioned your thinking level and your level of understanding. Do u expect the president of a nation to tell the citizen to vote a particular party when not in a political campaign ground.
Now i know that many youths are just senseless and have zero understanding of critical issues

All i know is that we should expect more suffering till after election. That new notes will not be available bcuz it also take time for cbn to print the new notes as the materials to do so is not readily available. The few new notes are with politicians and they are not releasing it anymore. Both old and new 200 naira notes will also be scares. If u know u know! The resolution by the president doesn't ease the pain. Let it be known now

This information is ambiguous. It needs supreme Court interpretation. Old 500 and 1000 naira note remaining redeemable at CBN and other points. Where are the other points? This Man has no solution to any problem.

I wonder what he meant by other points. Shouldn't he have mentioned it plainly?

It’s the point of the Buhari administration that pushing Nigerians into poverty will curb inflation.

Again, the implementation of the policy is political and not economically grounded.

Monetary policies can address inflation, but even monetary policies grounded in economics knows that such monetary policy must be informed by the character that has caused the inflation.

We are going to be plunged into stagflation by this. The policy will not address the inflation, it will affect the country’s production and cause unemployment to further increase.

The CBN fiscal and monetary policies are naive. Economists in our higher education don’t give a damn, they are yet to settle their debt. Nigerians didn’t stand by ASUU, and that intellectual defense line, has no incentive to coherently give a comment. ICAN is spent as well. The current leadership of the institute wants ICAN to be like ANAN , and they are all about giving the certificate for money. They currently have a proposal to allow those GL 14 and above in the civil service accounting roles to pay #1.4 Million, to skip over 90% of the institutes exams and get the certificate. Rather, than maintain rigorous and integrity and hope for a competent administration, they’d prefer to impair the quality of the institute so they can be here and there in a public sector that currently don’t serve Nigerians. The public sector should defend us against the private sector and against international economic adversaries. It should require success in the most rigorous and intellectually exerting experience to hold such position, but it’s not so here. There is perhaps none, not already infected, to provide coherent advise to the clueless administration.

To become an economic adviser to the CBN governor, it’s not even a question of competence. It’s all, a question of interest.

The CBN must be a government institution for the people. All through the Buhari administration, it wasn’t.

The CBN made billionaires out of bureau de change operators. It may have been the naive viewpoint that the Naira falling extremely hard against the dollar would incentivize folks to produce more for export and so improve the country’s GDP, but then again as Friedman said, we don’t judge such policies by their intentions but by their results. Nigeria and Nigerians has gained nothing and has lost now and also lost in the long run.

It’s the same with these monetary policies, it’s naive. It looks like someone making national economic decision just by reading an introductory economic text.

The corrupt politicians have access to dollars. CBN don’t think dollars can be used to engineer electoral malpractice?? Tinubu or Atiku or Obi will emerge. The lots have an interest in the continuation of the old currency. Emefiele’s is assured there will be a reversal, but political intents drives him, to make an impact in the short term.

Am glad there's at least one person on this platform whose education is a waste. Am particularly impressed by how you debunked the lies that this policy will reduce inflation. I had argued that case but some nigerians are bent on believing lies without question. Kudos

Yes. I watched it(somebody had to do it). In effect, old 500 naira and 1000 naira remain illegal tenders. Old 200 naira notes will be pushed back into circulation until April 10th.

I used to doubt that politics was behind this currency redesign. The president this morning, cleared that doubt. He actually is doing this to prevent politicians from buying votes. No politician has bundles of 200 naira notes stored up. They certainly didn't see this coming.

Sadly though, it appears he is not willing to respect any judgement of the supreme court concerning this matter.
guess what the few new naira note they released into circulation are already in the hands of the politicians

Hmmm. This government is confused. Where are the new notes? You wanna push back the old 200naira notes into the economy and mop them out again within sixty days. The CBN Governor ought to have been sacked for this mumbo jumbo policy, though good intention but not well executed. Smh

A smart way of dealing with the Supreme Court who wants the old notes to remain in circulation till after the elections.

Vote-buying is usually done with ₦500 and ₦1000 denominations.

The aim of the redesign remains largely undefeated.

Is it by putting millions of nigerians in untold hardship that he should stop vote buying?

Are you not surprised that buh6made no mention of when nigerians will have access to new notes? Is this not a scam?

What is the guarantee that the old 200naira will be accessible?
