I have 100k,but not bothered,still looking for old note to buy
at cost of #500 to 1k cos I know for sure I will use it when a new regime comes on board or hopefully on 22nd when supreme court will make further pronouncement on the issue

Many of us keep saying we had more than 3 months to change the old currency......I beg remind me again when the New notes were launched and how much was printed Viz a Viz the quantity that was deposited. From the time the new ones were made available till the deadline date was it enough for the New notes to go round?

Never had any instead helping others spend theirs because I was busy shouting 31st December last year to people around me besides I deal with very few cash.

I was lucky to deposit 71500 at access bank yesterday.

Why will you keep such amount at home? I should have like 1k or 2k at home that's if I search home very well

You sound stupid the more you repeat the bolded. Are you not aware that banks were still paying old notes out to customers up until January 25th? What happens when you deposit old notes and banks pay you old notes via ATM? Do you reject it and go hungry or abandon what you wanted to do with the money?

You keep forgetting that Emiefele printed less than 20% of the old notes he was retrieving from circulation, thus making it inevitable that the old notes will continue to be in circulation till the elapse of the deadline since there were no new notes to replace the old.

Protests and riots would have been much worse if everyone had deposited their notes by December ending and then no new notes to run their economic activities and other financial obligations.

Please just shut up if politics has so blinded you from seeing the true picture of what's happening

Hmmm. I stay in remote place. It has not being easy. New note is very scarce. Glad people are resorting into Opay, moniepoint, kuda. But fuel stations still insist on cash(some still collected old noe as at this morning while others insist on new note). I still have 3k with me. Will use it to by fuel tomorrow

Yeah I know CBN doesn't have the capacity to print new notes. I was talking about the old notes deposited at banks. I got info from a source that some of the old deposited bills are still at banks vaults and haven't been taking to CBN.

I still believe APC have a hidden agenda for all these wahala they have put us. How can you inform the masses of the policy over 3 months ago(according to it's supporters), launch in 22nd of November and start releasing it on 15th December and u want it to circulate round over 200million people by 31st January and some people are still supporting the FG and Emefiele.....haba now. We always make reference to SANE CLIMES, how many sane climes has done this? Even those sane climes faulted it and some of us here are praising it

My understanding of the current cash situation is that most people deposited their old notes (in compliance with the government policy) but are unable to get new currencies from the banks.

I am therefore surprised that some people are still holding on to the old notes.

I have no problem with rejection of old notes but I definitely have issues with non-availability of the new notes.
