people who feel a military govt is better clearly were not alive or too young to understand life during the military era. Anyone who was around during the mmilitary era knows, the worst democracy is better than a military regime. entitled naive youth, i remmember in the Abacha days when we had to speak in whispers, not knowing whose phone or house is bugged. You don’t give your opinion on issues because you don’t know who has become a govt agent. The person who gave info on Olu Onagoruwa’s son’s whereabouts before he was shot by Abacha was his childhood friend who had dbeen compromised by the secret police. You are in a democracy and you are complaining!!! Complaining, abusing the govtand govt officials freely , in a military govt you complain or criticize..... you disappear!!! Worse still your friends and family journalists etc will not be able to fight for you or protest out of fear of disappearing ir being on the receiving g end of a bullet themselves. The ability to criticise freely is one of the benefits of democracy. 4 Likes 1 Share |

To argue for military rule because of a single lost election is to betray that one's supposed commitment to democracy and the rule of law was never more than skin deep. If you only believe in democracy when it goes your way, then you don't really believe in democracy at all. Many of us have been saying since the beginning of Obi's campaign that his "movement" was nothing but a vehicle for authoritarian tribalists, but apologists would always come forward to excuse the blatant intolerance and contempt for differing opinions shown by "Obidients" as merely a matter of moral outrage and a zeal for more accountable government. How does one reconcile such excuses with the current open appeals for the military to violently overthrow Nigerian democracy? Let's face facts, this is what most of the "Obidients" (other than a few deluded idealists in Lagos) have always been about - strongman rule in service of an ethnic-supremacist agenda. For all the flaws of old-school politicians like Atiku and Tinubu, at least they are able to tolerate dissent and mockery without retaliating, which is more than could ever be said for Peter Obi's movement even now, when they are far from the levers of power, let alone if they should ever manage to seize power through violence. We would probably be facing the an African version of fascism if that scary day were ever to come about, complete with a "master race" whose views and well-being would be the only ones which counted. 3 Likes 1 Share |

This is the scam that they've always preached when ever they commit their electoral fraud. There's no democracy in Nigerian, let's be frank. What we have is confused and fraudulent system of government. Since we the people don't appreciate democracy, its better we experience military rule once again. Maybe, then we'll appreciate actual demand. 1 Like 1 Share |

APC operatives heard the devilish plots of Kashim Shettima against the Igbo in a conversation with one Kunle. That must have made APC operatives choose Shettima as next president of Nigeria using aged Tinubu as front. The resistance to APC now by saner Nigerians is more on the prospect of Shettima ontop of affairs of Nigeria, not just against Bola Tinubu's fraudulent emergence as president -elect. How can a crude person like Shettima be made to steer Nigeria? 1 Share

Because the western countries are practicing democracy and are enjoying the benefits does not mean that is the best type of government for us in Nigeria too. Can someone name the benefits we have recorded from this our latest so called democracy since 1999 ? Is it debatable that the number 1 problem in Nigeria as we are talking right now is corruption? A country with both corrupt law enforcement agencies and the judiciary no matter any type of government she practices can never be successful. Does this loud mouth guy wants to tell me that the the unending loot of Abacha they're still returning till today is as massive as that of Dieziani during the Jonathan's government? Many of the good bridges and solid structures we still have standing till today were built by the military governments. In the US where I reside, our congress guys are accessible to the public and their activities in their chambers are closely monitored by the electorates and the consistent development we experience here is a testimony to that effect. Even with the insane sums of money our government officials are earning in Nigeria, can we name their achievements as our representatives at least since 1999 ? Can someone wake Omokri up from his sleep and let him realize that especially this current government is just a little different from a military government, the major difference is that this government can not even live up to the basic expectations of a true government . Indiscipline is the order of the day in Nigeria from the leadership to the followers hip and that is one thing that the military will never tolerate. Bandiitry Fulani herdsmen unleashing terror on farmers, idnapping and even agberoism would never have existed with the worst of a military government in Nigeria. Last but not least, the worst of any military government would have conducted a better election than the sham that was conducted under this highly prized democratic government. |

Amotolongbo:Military dictators are old school. The new crop of civilian dictators are worse just maybe less killing but if you oppose them you are lost and your family won't know what happened to you. Presidents of Uganda, China, Russia, Isreal, Tunisia are some examples of civilian dictators hiding under democracy and communism always altering the constitution to keep them in power for decades. From the body language of Tinubu's camp, there will be a heavy crackdown on dissent. Many activist and social media commentators go run to exile. Exciting days ahead! Nigeria go bette |

bjdon: A Tinubu presidency shall make even an unborn child in Nigeria become corrupt and mischievous. Nigeria's lopsided and dysfunctional political structure and governance systems were created by soldiers. Nigeria's Constitution was supervised by soldiers. No civilian government can restructure the political structure and governance system, no civilian government can rewrite the most contested and vexed chapters of Nigeria's Constitution. The constitution was not even subjected to popular referendum. Only military dictatorship can change these for good or for worse. |

Judiciary should be fast to finalize the court case before May-29th or Buhari should continue ruling until case is finalized. We don't want an interim government either, all we want is a true democratic election in our country not a clear selection process quoted as election. It's unheard of a drug dealer will enter into the seat of president through the INEC chairman door against the will of the people of the country. |

The Gen Zs and others calling for military govt are daft and foolish. Those kids born in the 90s and 2000s... They lack wisdom so much.... Democracy allows for change of govt every 4 years but a military man can come and not leave power in 10 years. He ends up oppressing anyone that challenges him... That will never happen in this country again. Tinubu will do this first four years and if he still has move grace he will do another term.... Anyone who doesn't want it can go on exile or jump into the lagoon 1 Like |
