Its normal for a child at the age to be active, if they don't definitely something is not too right.... Maybe you should check yourself has a parent loosing your cool on a 3year old child..seeing the child already has a problem at such age....
Re: How Do I Handle My Hyper-active Daughter, She's Barely 3years by Jydo2000: 2:38pm On Jul 02, 2023
You have to be thankful first for her being active.
You can get her engaged by getting a kid tab for her to divert her attention into learnings meanwhile, you have also monitor her screen time too cos by the time she starts you'd always want to be her tab as per smart kid.
In the meantime, you'd have to always monitor her by taking hazardous objects away from her environment. And if need be for you to caution her, please do oh, every kid wants freedom at every given time 't'.

There is little or nothing you can do, it seems its the norm for kids of this era cos I have a 3yrs plus son and I am as tired as you are. Even our baby minders don tire. Only his personal Nanny (an aged woman) that took care of him from birth can calm him down, and she seems to be the only person he listens to temporarily and its because the woman pampers him a lot and he sees the woman as his grandma cos that's what he calls her grin

I have bought virtually all toys in the world; from drivable cars he can enter and drive to drivable powerbike to tricycle to bicycle and uncountable number of toy cars and toys.

He started using adult tablet at 1yr and started accessing internet with it from 1yrplus which he uses to watch cartoons like Baby Shack, Wheels in the bus, Coco Melon Rhymes and other nursery rhyme videos yet this tablet that is constantly connected to the internet hasn't helped to stop his hyper active behavior

Hello guys. Greetings to you. Please don't mind muy grammar, I'm not here for English classes lol.
My first child's almost 3years, trust me that girl can be playing and roaming about 24/7. As long as she's not asleep, her mum and I are always talking, don't do this, don't do that. Sometimes I lose my cool you know. I'm planing to enroll her into a conventional school by September because she seems really smart. My question here is, how do I handle her, she can't just stay in one place and our apartment is not really safe for her to be playing outside.
Parents and expert in the house please assist a brother with an idea of what to do.
Thank you
Buy play dough. Cut down screen time. Remove all electronic gadgets.

You made a mistake, you should have enrolled her when she was 1year 6months old,by now she would get used to school activities and she would be extra active in schooling things.mind is just 1year 2month very hyper active, she's times 2 of her age, very smart,I intent to enroll her by September,so she can get used to school activities, she does not talk yet but with time she will

Allow the child to have fun pls. Children have boundless energy.
My kids as they are going into teen are still very hyperactive. Fuzzy drinks are not allowed in their school. I started pinning them down for siesta from birth. It's a tradition still maintained in my house. As for the hyperactivity, it doesn’t bother me. I grew up around kids with so much energy, I was hyperactive too.
Be hyperactive with him and show her the evidence as he gets older. It's fun.
Don't miss out on this bondng time.
Lol, my son's own can be annoying oh lol. He even beat his little sis that's just 1yr, and fights our adopted daughter that's 11yrs, like no minute without him crying to you about one thing his baby sis did or the bigger sis did or something.

I am praying to God seriously to please help me make the boy no grow with this kind behavior cos it may turn to being too stubborn and God knows I wasn't stubborn as a child to my parents.

I love active kids but his own can be frustrating

My son will be 2 in two months time, he will make you talk to the extend that you will almost beat hell out of him. He fears me because I don't tolerate his sturburness but can do what ever he wants around his mum. I had to enrol him into school

There's nothing to do about that . Just make sure your eyes is alws on her everywhere she goes to prevent injuring herself and ensure that she sleeps at least 1hr. Although, children like that will alws fight the sleep even they're feeling sleepy because they want to remain engaging in doing something

its normal, my daughter that is almost 3 like yours is super-hyper active like you are describing. I do not see it as an issue, I am even happy with that as it means she wil be a strong girl. I play football with her which she enjoys a lot and generally do activities that makes her use her energy.
She will be fine later and be more calm when she gets older.

Don't discourage her hyper activeness. Rather, buy a lot of toys for her (not children's android gadget yet), I'm sure she will have a short span of attention for TV but still show more educational kiddies programs for her on TV. Dont forget the toy aspect I mentioned, especially toys that develop creativity such as those construction boxes and simple puzzles for children. It will channel her energy into creativity and help in developing her skills later as she is growing. As others have said, always watch her and keep harmful objects in safe places. My regards to her and the family.

Hi.

If you feel concerned about your child, I'd advise you take her to see a paediatrician. The specialist will evaluate her and determine if things are normal, or not.

Good luck.

I understand you, and I think you could be right to an extent. He started using tablet too early, and I have been wondering if that could be the issue. Because of that, I don't want to buy tablet for my daughter that's 1yr, and I am not planning to buy her any toy too, though my wife has been complaining that it's unfair to the girl lol, but I am trying to trace where the mistake of my son's super hyperactive behavior came from.

Though he has small kiddies magnetic board for writing, also have this automatic erasing handheld writing tablet for learning to write or draw, these ones don't need electricity. He has balls too cos I love football. Honestly he has virtually all play stuff for kids. He is my first biological child, so I was just buying virtually anything I came across online, on Facebook, Instagram or TV thinking they would keep him busy and make him develop smart brain faster lol, maybe I was wrong

Every parent with a child of her age faces same, nothing is strange. If she doesn't act like that at this age, then there is something wrong. You did same to your parent. Just calm down, as time goes by, she will gain sense (understanding) and she will adjust herself. At this age, you will get frustrated, but your eyes cannot go off her for a sec, that a sec can be like days in what can happen. Endure for a little while, and never ever vent your anger on her, she is just an innocent girl growing and developing.

Safety precautions:
Remove every electrical appliances from her reach or guard them well.
Do not place any breakable object at her reach.

The solution is in your statement, look for a better place where she can freely play around and you will be glad you do. That a child is active should be a joyful thing to the parents not the other way round. My daughter is also very active and have sharp brain, we are happy about it and supporting her with prayers.

Hi there. I was hyperactive as a child. I showed my family and nanny shege too, and always running to major roads.

I'd say you should enroll your daughter in a conventional school. You say she's smart right?

You can engage her in educational games, such as Lego building blocks, allow her watch educational kids programs that will develop her brains, allow for reading and writing.

Play time is also essential for her development. Don't deprive her of playtime.

If you're a sports person, it is not bad to inculcate basic sports such as swimming, cycling, taekwando for kids (self defence classes), football or whatever sports that are age appropriate.

Lastly, get closer to that child. Hear her thoughts, input good values into her that will stick even till she reach adulthood.

Most times hyperactiveness fizzle out as children age. If you see me now in reality, I don calm. cheesy

#My opinion though.
Let kids be kids. The only thing they need from you at that age is the right food and enabling environment to play. Let them play away. They will settle with time. We start this so called training so early yet here we are.
Children need confidence at that age than grades. A big mistake we Nigerians make everyday.
Trust me, if like 50% of Nigerians built self confidence as kids, we won't be were we are in the community of nations at all.
So let them enjoy life and have fun at tender age. That is building character.
Unconventional and the most important part of training.

You know, I have learnt a lot when I go to parents meeting. The teacher and psychologists are always there and of course as a Nigerian parent, I started worrying why grades were not the way I want them when I was in naija bla bla bla. (Fast forward, these kids just set their own rules and I see them outdo themselves in this same grades I was initially worried about.)
That was when I was schooled that the method we use in naija to train kids is what breeds low self esteem we have all over. The teachers and psychologists insisted that I Allow kids to play and have fun
A they age, they sort out their lives. That is development going on there on how to build their future. When we force them to study this and that, become geniuses at tender age so we can gloat( we don't know their personality yet) we are subduing and bullying them. Kids need freedom.

It's even better when we act their age with them. Loads of self confident children.
Kids need confidence not grades is a mantra we should learn to use in Nigeria so Nigeria can turn around as our problem is purely psychological.
(An average Nigerian think that oyibo is superior.
That's lack of confidence. And then as they grow, low self esteem. Our men have the biggest low self esteem in this world
Check out how it started)
They teach their kids confidence while we concentrate on grades. Look at where we are today. Grades don't build a society. Confidence do.

Get her good quality educational toys so while she is playing she can be learning also at the same time.

Her activeness and smartness is very good but you have to take advantage of it by providing educative toys for her

Look out for other developmental milestones.
How many words can she say at 3.
Does she maintain eye contact when you look at her?
Does she play just in a certain way?
You might want to see a paediatrician .

That is controlling behaviour not hyperactivity and you should set the rule and maintain it that if he crosses boundaries again, there should be consequences. No beating but withdraw privileges.
Kids are the easiest to deal with in this world. As you lead them, they will follow you like zombie.

I tried adopting a child in Nigeria before I travelled out and was scammed a huge sum of money and these people want to give me stolen child. Gosh. Very bitter experience and a pastor I cherish so much did this. Assuming I was desperately looking for a child, I will be with stolen child. Adoption is what I had wanted since I came of age but naija being what it is, it's well.
I envy you. Wish I was the one that adopted that gal.
