Nigeria is a Geographical Contraption of diverse Ethnic Nationalities that are not ready to unite and work as one entity.
Only way forward is Restructuring or Balkanisation.

We need to restructure along ethnic lines so that the use of Tribalism to get to power would be dead

Can tinubu win election if he contest against another Yoruba man?

It's easier for Yorubas to hold their leaders accountable than Nigeria to do so

Restructuring along ethnic lines helped Europe, helped Asia... Why do you think it would not help us
A bottle of Hennessy for you, restructuring work for many countries, and the knew the truth, the parasite from the north are kicking against it and we are cycling around and suffering,

Obasanjo till tomorrow will be the best president we ever had since 1999. So when he is saying this. He knows exactly what he is saying.

Just like telecommunications in the hands of government when David Mark as Minister of telecommunications under Abacha said telephone is not for the poor. They won't make it work lailai until that sector is unbundled patapata.

He came at a period of dire economic problems with foreign sanctions here and there. His cabinet still the best. Not this one that Bulabalu went to bring the same set of people we've always known

His Telecommunications sector revolution was super.

The Banking sector was a total turnaround too .Mega super.

The Nigerian middle class grew under him. His first announcement in 100days was increasing the minimum wage to 3000naira.

A Bag of rice was sold for 1200 then or so. That meant with your minimum wage you could buy two bags of rice

Civil servants started buying cars and properties. People who before now, House agents will say House for rent,Not for civil servants

His only mistake was handing over to a Yaradua who was a socialist after he failed in his 3rd term bid which fortunately his party blocked.

Yaradua cancelled the sale of almost everything. Inclusive of power has obasanjo has set motion for the total unbundling of the power sector just like telecommunications.

The swines that took over especially the ones from 2015 are just beating about the bush.

Even if you want to talk about infrastructure sef,the Lagos Ibadan expressway sef,he was the one that constructed it as Military President
Obasanjo is the single biggest reason Nigeria is still in $16bn Darkness

so Nigeria should be divided into at least 20 zones, or how many ethnic entities do you think we have?

Nepa was sold. Was there any significant change since then?

There was change in NEPA for the few people who are lucky enough to get prepaid meters. I am indeed a witness and I thank my stars.

Does it mean that no government in the world runs its refinery successfully or is it a Nigerian thing because of our corrupt nature? I say this because I know tons of countries who have state-run refineries. If we can't run it then give it to the Chinese or some other investors willing to run it at profit. Even the federal government is corrupt and should be privatized. Nonsense.

Not pessimistic, but realistic statesman.

How much is the contract to Tompolo per month?

Does that mean pipelines are still not vandalized?

Running a refinery is a lot of headache and sabotaging considering the country we are in the lack of rule of law.

Operating cost no be here.. folks hiring there village people and bypassing qualified personnel because they are not indigene..

Receiving bills from this Chief and chief because the refinery is in thier land.. even after paying the community certain percentage yearly.

Just too many headaches.

You are right and that was what he did, before people like you and other Nigerians deceived Yaradua to reverse the says. So that is how we keep going in circles in this country. no forward progress at all.

Nigeria like holding on to failed projects.... The citizens do so for emotional reasons and because they believe in the lies told to them by politicians while the elite do so because they are beneficiaries of the corruption around it.

Those refineries will never be profitable... Know this and know peace

Restructuring is a scam bro! Don’t fall for it! What exactly do we want to restructure? Do you remember Vision 2020 scam?

The best thing we can do is to go back to regionalism! To me, this is the best solution. We were using it before and it worked for us!

SW Governor’s have been calling for the regionalism but other part of the county are still quiet. We should go back to regionalism then things can change. Imagine we go back to regionalism and:

Fashola is to be western leader premier..
Donald duke to be southern leader premier..
Kwankwaso to be northern leader premier..
Dave Umahi to be eastern leader premier..

I believe this is the only significant thing we can do, any other thing aside from that is like fetching water inside basket..
have u forgotten so soo that Nigeria is a country full of ethnic and tribal bigots? regionalism wont work. infact nothing will work in Nigeria

Eternally DOOMED!

That's why those hailing Tinubu make me laugh.

No matter what the man does, if he fails to address the corruption in all key sectors (Oil, Electricity, Defense, etc), there will no true progress.

Unfortunately, a deeply corrupt and morally compromised man has no bearing or standing to address and eliminate corruption.

The blind can never properly lead the blind.

If Buhari who is less corrupt oversaw a far more corrupt regime than his predecessor, how can anyone expect miracles or improvements with Tinubu??!

Pure Delusion!

The end will surely come, but not in our lifetime.

This man is Nigerias biggest problem, the country has given him and his family so much and all he does is find ways to control whomsoever is in power,he said he asked shel to run the refineries, is shell the only oil company in Nigeria? Are there no other investors that he could have liased with? Doesn't he know that with subsidy on ground that nobody would want to invest in the refineries ventures? Did he make any move to sanitize the nnpcl and their agencies then? Obasanjo is an evil man that always thinks that his way is the only way, shameful soul that could not make any of the refineries to be productive during his time while he was president and petroleum minister together, this man is a useless and egoistic man.
Your illiteracy is mind blowing, so in everything that he said, this is the only thing you can think about. Are you a big joke?

sulaak:

If the government is too corrupt to function, then fix the government. The solution is not to sell government assets to private individuals operating within a corrupt government environment but to reform the systems like the Malaysian and Singaporean did in the 1970s.

Why didn't OBJ persecute the corruption within NNPC? Or was he afraid of Danjuma and IBB, two key stakeholders in the corruption within the oil industry? The private sector cannot survive in a corrupt government unless it becomes corrupt.
As how, as an almighty that will just wave a magic wand abi. you guys are a big joke i swear. You want one man to come from nowhere and solve all your problem by waving a magic wand abi.

He has some good points. During the Regional Era the Midwest region emerged even though the Middle Belt region also fought for their own self-determination as well? Now..why were they unjustly denied? This tells you that largely Christian ethnic groups in the central parts of the country have always had a sharp self awareness which was short changed by the colonial government of the time. The closest sense of foundational autonomy they had was in the Benue Plateau State and that because someone who understood the true demographics was at the helms then.

No sane Middle Belter will seek to be part of any monolithic Northern region going forward, So the assertion that so called Northerners will agree to some Buhari-like leader is just pure nonsense. Even the label "Northerner" carries a very negative liability at this point....who wants to be associated with that?

The Central Region should capture the Christian ethnic groups who want to preserve their distinct identities. And yes....whether we like it or not....the Christian faith is the most factor in this regard...equal to their ethnic identification.
