HisSexcellency: Everything sold by baab Iyabo still remained stagnant and with zero progress. Whatever they have a stake in, whatever they have a percentage in, will neve work. Nigeria is a contraption. These people have a grand network that scuttle the achievement of the government of the day using their foot soldiers through diverse of options, sadly, they have their agents that they have planted in all sectors of the economy. There are 2 options available for any leader in power. Beat them, or join them. If you beat them, they will kill you like Yar 'a' dua, or almost kill you like Buhari was almost killed during his first term. Join them, drop your good intentions, let it be chop make i chop, allow everybody steal as they like, if you get tired, drop power like Jonathan. The public sectors, parastatals are more corrupt than any political office holder. These people understand the nitty-gritty of every sector, they understand how to pad and steal from the system, they have been in the office or sector for far too long. If you ever have any one in public service sector that reach level 14 or 15, you will understand what i am saying. The Minister can do nothing, cos, he really does not understand how their system works...there is a director, permanent secretaries etc they are the real IDANS. These people are stupendously rich, most of their kids school abroad, and we all know their salaries cannot afford them such luxurious lifestyle. |

gabicon:It's people like you, I really like to hear from, people that have REAL knowledge of what they are talking about. Based on what you've said, it seems the best option is to sell off the 4 refineries to anyone that may buy them, else scrap them. We must NOT continue to waste money every year on so called 'Maintenance' projects which is nothing more than legal stealing. The first proof of this will be when the PH refinery does not produce a drop of refined products next year, despite what the minister has boasted Hopefully then people will accept the truth. |

gbengene1234:I know. What I'm disputing is that because shell said it won't work means it won't work. Shell don't even operate refineries as they rightly said. They have only one that they operate. The rest are partnerships. The one they gave is just 240k barrels per day. So i don't know why the cry over Shell rejecting to take refineries. It simply does not fit into their business model. 1 Like |

bjdon: I think we have the same points. The citizens are as good as their leaders. Terrible people, terrible leaders. However power is an instrument of change. If leadership cannot use power to cause society to be better, then there is a deep rooted problem. In all leadership must be strong. Look at present great nations. They had strong leaders. When leaders are strong. |

HisSexcellency:Just imagine the nonsense this old thief is saying, you sold them, only for the one you use all your veto power to impose on us to reverse it because you failed to lay a solid foundation and reasons why the sells is paramount for continuity. Obasanjo is not a good leader, he failed to leave a good legacies hence the reversal of what you have done, same thing goes to Power, your failures are still felt all around. 1 Like |

EyeCumInPiss: Tinubu people know this. Refineries can't work in Nigeria because of corruption. Corruption in Nigeria is because everyone is working for the good of himself and ethnic group in Nigeria. Europeans don't tolerate country of multiple ethnic and religious groups in Europe. Since the fall of Berlin Wall, Europeans have systematically dismantled all multi ethnic and religious groups that once existed in Europe, because such countries never worked. |
Re: Why Nigeria’s Refineries Will Never Work – Obasanjo by fxexperts: 1:35pm On Sep 05, 2023 |
meum:No they do not need to s[ponsor thugs to destroy it, the people employed to run the refinery will be the ones to loot it dry. Nigerians are now very much fantastically corrupt, they are only looking for what to gain to satisfy their selfish interest they no longer care the damage been done to the economy, that is the adverse effect of corruption. I did my IT many years ago in one of these Electricity generation company and what i saw the staffs do there, how they inflate budget for Maintenace and how the loot the infrastructure of this said company and how they feed fat from it, and they always quote the slogan, na government property na for everybody nor be my papa get am. Neddstark:This idiot is sick in the head. he will not go and look for the root cause of his problem, but he is busy diverting attention to someone else, waiting for one messiah to come and save his generation. Zombie what is the color of your problem. EWU gambia.. |

Kukutente23: Shell that has paid many Ogoni communities time and time again for oil spillages over the past decades are the one you are accusing here of not paying them. Go and ask the Ogoni people leaders what happened to their oil spillage compensation money. |
Re: Why Nigeria’s Refineries Will Never Work – Obasanjo by Kukutente23: 1:39pm On Sep 05, 2023 |
membranus:What about the clean up. ExxonMobil is still paying till today for the oil spillage that occurred in the early 90s. |
Re: Why Nigeria’s Refineries Will Never Work – Obasanjo by membranus: 1:50pm On Sep 05, 2023 |
Kukutente23: The international arbitrage courts have compelled the oil companies to clean up the affected communities. If they have not done so, they should be sued again for disobedience to the court injunction. As for paying successively for oil spillage, Shell cannot do so unless there is a new incidence of the spillage. The old ones have been settled for. |
Re: Why Nigeria’s Refineries Will Never Work – Obasanjo by Kukutente23: 2:03pm On Sep 05, 2023 |
membranus:Are you sure about that? All been settled for? I'm not asking for successive payments but payments that's due ALL affected |
