There is nothing special about skyscrapers. It doesn't always mean economic prosperity. Countries choose how they want to plan their cities according to the history and taste of its citizenry. Europe doesn't have a lot of tall
Buildings because of choice and economy.

Europe doesn't have such because of town planning rules and plain lands. Asian cities have lopsided topography.

However, skyscrapers connote economic prosperity. How come they are only situated in cities rather than towns? How come no skyscraper in Sokoto?

Imagine UAE with only 300? Sky scrapers in Dubai Marina and Business bay alone no pass 200? Let alone other parts of Dubai, then include, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. If UAE is not first in that list then it should be next to China with a very very slim margin if any at all.
