Some people believe marriage brings financial breakthrough. Poor people that have more than 2 kids need to be sterilized and the children taken away from them. Bunch of irresponsible idiots. Even if you have money you can still go broke one day so have a reasonable amount of children. You are not into farming like our ancestors but you don born 4 to 5. Haba

The OP post is not fair to those people that have business challenges or job termination the moment they get married. Secondly, getting married is a divine mandate upon man to multiply and subdue the earth. Thirdly, getting married and having kids are good omen that will bring to biological equilibrium. Fourthly the main characteristics of living organisms is reproduction. So it is not out of place to marry and to have kids. those kids would bring continuity of life, fortunes and wealth to society in general and their parents in particular.

Marriage is not actually compulsory.

The reason most humans throughout history traditionally see marriage as a necessity is simply psychological and basic instinct, it's one of the traits we evolved along the way to encourage reproduction and ensure the continuation of our specie.

Did you know that many other mammals out there also practice "marriage" ?? (They may not walk down the isle holding their father hand in the traditional human sense) But they sure understand the assignment.

With all that being said.

DO YOU REALLY "NEED" TO GET MARRIED?

Well... marriage can be a beautiful,wonderful and fulfilling experience with many advantages(and also disadvantages) for many people, but it is not right for everyone.
Individuals should think with clear head, bypass any basic instinct, any traditional-cultural pressure... other people's opinion. consider your own need and circumstances fully well before deciding marriage is right for you.

The major factor of poverty is self induced poverty.
Even if you are poor, sticking to just 1 kid while you and your wife hustle will go along way in alleviating poverty.
Personal induced poverty is 60% why people are poor and government policies takes the remaining 40%.
I have family members am paying their kids school fees why they hardly do anything for the kids.
One has been staying with us since her JSS 1 up till now that she is about to enter nursing school.
Her dad knows nothing about her feeding, clothing or surviving till now and when it is time for her to marry, he will now put on a useless agbada claiming bride's father.
Father that knows virtually nothing how his daughter survived.
He still has 2 that they don't even know what the future owes them because I doubt those ones will go to tertiary university.
Poverty is bad and kills the dream of kids.
It causes low self esteem and many other things.
People should plan before taking critical actions and not just born like dogs and goats and wish the society will train the kids for them. Time has changed
