Louis van Gaal has reportedly told United’s money men he wouldn’t stand for another gruelling pre-season itinerary like last year.
Manchester United are negotiating to play summer games in Atlanta, Ohio and New Jersey with boss Louis van Gaal happy with a shortened tour schedule.
Van Gaal reportedly told vice president Ed Woodward he would favour a three match tour built around a training camp on one coast in the USA, which would give United a better chance of challenging for the title.
United are considering several destinations in the states this summer with MLS and other top European teams desperate to play them.
But if they secure contracts to play in Atlanta, Ohio and New Jersey - all on America’s east coast - it’ll significantly reduce the travelling schedule.

Talsima:

I wasn't myself yesterday. Our players were just running around like squirrels and my eyes were seeing stars like I had malaria. The TV was circling around my view as the match wore on. We have big fixtures from March and we needed to win all our matches before then to extend the gap from our rivals contesting for UCL spots. There we were chasing West Ham that has lost form.

We played better than the first half. We kept the heat too late. I think overall we went with a plan to cope with West Ham's agbegi football style rather than playing our own game. Blind's equalizer was a big relief at the end and a well deserved reward for our late pressure. I wondered if that ball would have gone in it if it were our other (forward) players who took that volley. It was well directed by Blind.
that was the confusing part sef cuz if that was the case, Fellaini & Valencia should have been a part of the diamond midfield. that's why i said LvG's selections are very difficult to understand as i feel we have various style of players for proper dynamism in formations & team selections to keep opponents guessing, but the riches seem to be confusing LvG himself so he's just fitting big names anywhere he likes.

Shocking stats for Di Maria in 2015. Playing one of the best passing and crossing players in the world out of position is taking its toll.

Goal 0
Assist 0
Chances created 8
Shooting Accuracy 20%
Crossing accuracy 12%

I saw the above.

asking Rooney where he wants to play is bullshit. the guy is a forward, just play him there or leave him out altogether. so if Rooney decides he wants to man the post, de Gea will go to bench immediately? that talk doesn't make sense to me
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Talsima: 8:54pm On Feb 09, 2015
Dwight Yorke slammed Manchester United's performance for the 1-1 draw at West Ham United.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Yorke said: "I have not seen the ball fizzed around. The movement up front is lackadaisical.
"At the other end, Sakho and Valencia are moving the United defence around, but Man United are stagnant and this is not the United way.
"We like to see movement and space created for other players to get into. Falcao and Van Persie are easy to play against."
[Source: Skysports]

.....................
This is the second person I have read exercising fear that RVP and Falcao partnership will not work. The first guy (an ex-West Ham player) was worried about their lack of pace of our duo, and then this United side is not getting many crosses in from the wing as they did in his playing days when United used real wingers.

lol

Even his statements are sometimes contradictory if not political. Na Fellaini go make us play on the floor?

Gaal: "We need the guts to play football along the floor. That we have done in the second half.
"With him (Fellaini) we have more power. With Adnan (Januzaj) and (Angel) Di Maria, we have more creative players. The second ball you cannot always win with these players.
"But you have to win (the ball), otherwise I have to line-up always (with) players like Fellaini."

SailorXY, honestly, Januzaj should have been the one to give way at West Ham, not Rooney. Had we played Fellaini instead of Januzaj, you wouldnt have felt Rooney's mistakes with passes and Blind would have emerged with over 90% pass accuracy. It was like two people left to do the job of three. We were already having two men lying in our striking position, then Janujaz went to sleep.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Talsima: 9:18pm On Feb 09, 2015
I think I would like to agree with Yorke, those days defenders didn't know where to wait for Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney. Sometimes they even leave the middle empty until someone is taking the ball down the field. Then they all swarm into the aerial like bees exchanging passes. They all dropped deep to run at defenders.

When you re-watch Juventus vs Man United in Turin 1999, you will see Cole and Yorke involved heavily in build up play, running at pace at the Juve defence.

May be playing two poachers is also a problem in our team. One should be enough if at all.

we played really well.
the only thing i didn't like was the slow passing & lack of movement from the attacking four especially in the first half.

asides that, i think we responded well and VP & falcao should be scoring from their chances . we play better against stronger sides so i am not worried about march.

i already said we didn't have enough pawa in the middle (from the line up) to counter West Ham. the movements were ok but it was always going to be a difficult away trip where sheer brutish behavior will immediately put a team on the front foot, & that was why the first half was rubbish.

in the developing years of Rooney & Ronaldo, big talents they were - everyone could see they will become a menace @ some stage; but the initial contests with the brutes & stalwarts of AC Milan & even Chelshit, they were both easily brushed aside.

Januzaj's case is similar, even worse when you see that he doesn't really feature in a comfortable position. LvG may even have even decided to play him as wingback earlier in the season just like the promising Lingard, it is not helping! if he's using a wingless formation then so be it, unless he's going to use Januzaj as a no. 10.

with players we have, LvG can alternate/play a variety of systems to keep his next opponents unsure like a 4-4-2 diamond, a 4-2-3-1, a 4-3-2-1, a 4-1-4-1 flat & a 4-3-3 where every player can be in their best positions easily with even adequate subs. i pray his dilemma improves over-time.

For the new generation of United fans like SailorXY, the highlight below (3.45 mins) shows how we destroyed star studded Juventus team in Turin in 1999. One of my best nights- the battle of Turin. The great come back in difficult Turin. With June lining up Zidane, Edgar Davis, Inzaghi, Conte. They went 2-0 up in just 11 mins via Inzaghi goals, but Cole and Yorke played some beautiful football to help the team to a famous win. The whole team was awesome. Then in the final..... the rest is history.

Good night.

yes on BTsports.

rafael, young, etc featured though but it was perreira & tom thorpe that scored. first goal was a deflected freekick, the second was a well delivered freekick for thorpe to power home. chelsea scored first before we tonked them with 2 late goals.

it will be a shame for LvG to lose Pereira cuz he couldn't give the lad a run out with the first team

he should be promoted to the first team to take anderson's shirt. he's a very good player. his set play delivery is better than anything rooney has done this season.

1 goal & 1 assist against a rampant chelsea side. the solanke lad in chelsea is a beast. he ran our boys ragged in the hsme until parreira's moments of sheer brilliance.

More like more stability to his feet.
He should try and stay on his feet before he will be able to even contemplate taking shots, not to talk of perfectly aimed shots.

Happy Birthday sha!
