I have had cause to read a lot of informative reviews from this forum and have come to understand that the UK isn't as nice as so many people would put it,the killings in London, the massive emmigration levels, high cost of living in the genera etc etc .It surprises me yet that a lot of naija guys n babes still make this place their number destination in the quest for the proverbial golden fleece,Wouldn't know why sha

Funky baby,Pataki,SeanT21, having been closing in on your posts for quite awhile now and being impressed with them all.I need your opinion on his pertinent issue to informatively address what is gradually degenerating to a UK craze in naija

U're just the only one that has said s/thing very realistic.
How can one begin to change a country that has become monumentally corrupt if not overhaul entirely,it's polity? which in most case is a drastic measure that is REVOLUTION.this i know many of these guys that wants us to believe that they're more patriotic than the rest of us would not dare doand indeed have not the power to achieve.
By and large,it is quite imperative that we understand the collosus status this problem of Nigeria has become. At least am comforted by the fact that Nigerians in diaspora have now begun to show serious concerns about their home country and we must all encouarage that

That is just my own,

@funky baby

U seem quite knowledgeable about immigration laws ,rules n all what not in the UK.av seen your posts in response to other issues raised in the travel section.I must say that's quite commendable but i must differ with u on the pertinent issue at hand.Oil and Gas may not be the only reason why students choose to study in Scotland. It would do u a whole lot of good to use a whole gamut of considerations to arrive at yo conclusion

In conclusion,i believe scotland is better on the strength of student testimonies and reviews, and the sparse population of the country making it easier to find yo way around, manageable crime rate than in Enbland especially London.I have got a lot of friends studying in both places.Their comments are the same, even the ones in England show some sort of preference for scotland.Do u have an answer for that dear?
TravelThe Disparity B/w Uk Home And Overseas Students by 8ball(op): 10:25am On Jun 21, 2008
Any keen observer of the Uk educational system would be quick to notice the tremendous disparity between students classed as overseas for Tuition fee purposes. These class of students into which naija students majorly fall into, pay in some cases, three times what Uk students pay for the same course. But really what i don't really get is,after paying these huge monies, these overseas students are often not guaranteed accomodation for the entire lenghth of their programme.Considering a One yr M.sc programme 4 instance, overseas students are liable to enter into accomodation contract  that runs for 48wks or 36wks instead of the 52wks.At the end of this license period, the student is expected to move out of this accomodation and look for some other acccomodation that they would yet pay for.Guys, with all these in mind, how do these schools expect us to believe that they could indeed cater to the needs of these students so far away from home when they cannot even  house them for the entire period of their study.

why is this so?guys, the floor is all open 4 your views,

I think scotland is a smaller country not so densely populated like England and quite visitor friendly too.And with the current fresh talent hunt Initiative by the scottish Executives,It has more than become a hub of some sort for graduates looking to consolidate on relavant work experience before proceeding back for home country

Well, I must commend your efforts for taking steps to make your applications. Your case of forgery allegations is not the first and it wont be the last. We had a client last year who was alleged of bank statement forgery. His Aunt in the UK works with Mark & Spencer and she holds an account with Barclay's Bank, UK. This bank statement was alleged to be forged and he was giving a right of appeal. We treated the appeal with utmost care and eventually the appleal was allowed and was given the visa.

One should always wonder, as I have written in one of my posts, that if truly an applicant is found wanting especially in the area of forged documents, there shouldnt be a second chance that is, a the right of appeal. Therefore, I suggest you appeal against the ECo's decision and prove all allegations levelled against you otherwise. You do not need to re-apply. Sometimes these ECO's are turned off due to numerous applications before them, their mood often times determine their decisions on applications. Sometimes, they may not like the face of an applicant, these are things that happen in reality especially in interviews. I have had the opportunity to be in a panel of interviewers and I learnt that various factors are measured and scores depends on the individual interviewers. You wouldnt believe a case of an applicant having the same birthday as that of the ECO's, (a coincidence!) that can earn such a person a visa, though that case is like a one in a million applications. That is why you need prayer support when you make your applications even when your documents are genuine and okay.

Am impressed with the quality of this your advice,i hope other visa applicants may learn from this.At least, now we know that it isn't just okay to submit genuine documents. The mood of the ECO's sometimes come into play.

It depends on the course that u're studying but on the overall,i think the University of manchester has quite an impressive statistics wiv graduate employments. It appears quite imperative that u're looking at these factors before making your choice,i think that is very commendable cos wiv the whole horde of schools in the Uk,u never can tell.So brava,a degree from the Manchester University is quite decent to get a good job tho not an automatic guarantee.

Guys,is this some war of atrition or something. What's all this stuff about u guys denigrating the excellent employment prospects of RGU.by way of Uk rankings, they currently rank 55th but have been consistently ranked one of the best in the Uk by the Times university guide as the destination for most student for higher learning n for graduate employment. And now from a strict Engrg. perspective, the corporate arm of the UNi,called UNIVATION has initiated commendable customized training for so many oil coys ranging from SHELL SITP,Vetco UK.Subsea UK.Lukoil,Venezuela,Sonatrah,Algeria,PTDF overseas scholarship scheme,PDVSAVIAH project,Chevron global. The aim of this forum is to advise people who are infomatively deficient n help them make a good choice in their pursiut of higher learning. But as much as we have this in mind,we must be quite constructive of all our views knowing that one made out of error could mislead another.About my brother that said that many RGU pg students work in the banks,am yet to hear of something like that though this is not an outright guarantee that an Oil n gas degree from Rgu will give one outright job i the oil coys. It's just that it better places their graduates than others given their outsatnding business links with a very good number of national oil companies. So brava, pls stop discouraging prospective students that would think that all those yo comments about RGU not being so impressive in terms of Graduate employment is true cos it isn't one bit.I will advise n assure anyone with an interest in the oil and gas sector in the light of all these evidence that an RGU degree is most favoured by his/her prospective employers. If still in doubt,u guys are not dumb, use the web, after all why is there if not provide info for all.

be better informed before u ever make a comment,

well,it is very important that one has to be thorough in his/her application for the british student visa otherwise the ECO'S will really find it easy to throw out yo application on the groungs of inconsistencies if u don't.Basically,u shd know why u're going to the school, that is the benefit this will be to you and most importantly if yo sponsor is capable of financing yo studies whilst u're there wivout u recoursing to public funnds to see yourself thru. But all in all,if u're able to pay up to half of the tution fees and show a credbible r/ship b/w u and yo sposor ,then u need not b afraid.I hope this helps
