Derby:U don't need an appointment to submit yo visa application.Just gather all yo documents and proceed to either the VAC( visa application centre) in Ajose,Victoria Island or in Oregu,Ikeja ,pay the processing fee and then submit. mean yl,u may find useful, a list of all the documents that i submitted when i applied for the student visa weeks back.check it out via wiv the link below https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-159239.0.html suffice it to say that i was issued wiv the student visa only few days ago. i wish u the best of luck in yo application. |
shawamma:Brava, pls exercise patience.I don't think that the delay is cos of an invstigation.I know how it is,anxiety can really cause yo mind to veer off in diverse directions in situations like this but have no fear am sure it's all for good. Meanwhile,do track yo applicatio online rom time to time.It should be ready at least before this week runs out. |
it was indeeed with a mixture of emotions that i proceeded to the VAC(visa application centre ) in VI to learn the outcome of my Student visa application of 21/08/08 and being that i wasn't contacted by the BHC at all during the 15 workin day processing period made the wait a most nervous one.Neither was my dad/sponsor contacted. The only consolation i had was buttressed on the painstaking visa application i was able to put together.Below was the list of documents that i submitted : 1.Tuition fees receipt(I paid i full to the tune of 13,800 pounds) 2.Unconditional offer letter/letter of acceptance 3.Conditional offer letter 4.University cost of living guide 5.Arrival letter/Enrolment notice 6.Accomodation Visa support form(Actualy the university does nt lease accomodation unless one is granted visa) 7.Academic transcripts 8.local gov Identification of origin 9.Primary school leaving certificate 10.jamb Notification of results 11.Undergraduate admission letter 12.affidavit of facts(to cover up for the error in my weac certificate) 13.letter of industrial atachment 14.shares certificates of my sponsor/dad(83 copies in all) 15.tax clearance certificate 16.certificate of occupancy 17.Letter of introduction from the bank( of my sponsor 18.certificate of business incorporation 19.evidence of payment of property rates 20.letter of financial guarantee 21.Nysc discharge certificate 22.Birth certificate 23.Affidavit of fact 24.Online accomadation application form These were the documents that i submitted that i submitted almost 3weeks ago and today i was given the visa without any form of intrview.I just want to use this opprtuity to thank nairalanders in this particular section for their constructive criticisms which lagely contributed to my taking time to preparing for this visa aplication and hope that this information helps someone out there. |
metoo:That was quite an impressive detail.i just hope that Nigeria would take a cue from the Asians |
landis:U're very funny.what a clever idea tho. When naija bobos ever gon' stop being uniquely innovative n creative?.If that idea isn't incredilble ingenuity,i wonder what then is? |
emmasweet:i would advise u to get the tax clearance.Since the BHC tries as much as possible to reach a decision on yo visa application wivout a face - to - face interview,it would be neccesary to include all relevant supporting documentations.Ny way, wish u all the best. |
chika98:How exactly do u mean? |
SeanT21:ever wondered if nairaland forum is more popular in the UK than America. It's not enough to say that.Ny way, thanks for expressing yo opinion.Tho i may not provide exact statistics, there ought 2 b a way to ascertain this. |
SeanT21:i will have to differ with u on this.Subtantiate yo claim pls ,Sean |
I have been a keen observer of the trend in this particular section of nairaland forum and have made quite an interesting discovery. Most issues concerning the UK generally get more respondents or feedback than would one peculiar to the USA,Canada and less conspicously.Suffice it to say that The UK has become some what increasingly popular in our country in recent times. The aim of this thread is to examine the reasons behind this.Could it be that there are more Nigerians living in the UK or what?or there more prospective immigrants to the UK or what? Now is the time to clearly define why people would passionately condemn and some others laugh at policies enacted in their countries of interest. I would savour all yo feedback.Let's get on with this |
@ poster What an outrageous way of buttressing yo point.Ny way,u lack depth in the strength of yo ridiculous argument. It's all garbage.stop wasting our time wiv posters such as this.Lol |
Joseph6:I couldn't agree more. Some people are so funny that the word funny itself pales in their comparism. @ poster You would not only denigrate yo yourself in this quest but yo familyand indeed all that they may come to represent .Ny way,we can all surmise here, with your ambitions apparent, why Nigerians in diaspora av been branded with bad names. |
bigkayy:absolutely !!,i couldn't agree more |
This is by far a menace that seriously needs to be curbed if not purged.Travelling abroad tho av been seen in the country by many uninformed people as a shortcut to wealth n enormous affluence. When planning to travel abroad, one has to make sure it is for the right reasons and for legitimate reasons.so much av been said about our bravas and sisters scattered all ova in diaspora barely managing to scrape a living out there and yet cannot come back to their home country cos they will either be the laughing stock of friends and foes alike or worse still, face humiliation upon return at the Airports. The quest to travel out of the country ought not be an obsession if it is for a valid or good reason. I have a friend that has just been refused visa to Europe for the 12th time. After critically examining his situation,i found out that he wants to travel out at all costs.i advised him to think properly and seek out productive opportunities lurking in the country. A lot of people are still caught up in this obsession. It is our duty to counsel them or what do u guys think? |
@ Poster Tho i gave u the benefit of doubt,i still find it rather difficult to believe that u could actually obtain Uk student visa without holding an unconditional offer from any varsity.Mind you, most of us are well versed in the standard procedures involved in these visa applications.i don't think u can pull ova my eyes. If indeed u av the visa then i suggest u make good the opportunity and avoid messing up yo life by entangling with unnecessary and somewhat dangerous social vices prevalent in the society. Quit playing games All the best man |
I hope this year's edition lives up to it's billing since the money has been upped Wishing all the contestants the best in the cold Awgu hills |
rurffy:Where exactly did u submit, abuja or Lagos. If lagos,(Ikeja or VI).I'd like to know.So were u asked specifically not 2 submit? As a M.sc student or even as a prospective undergraduate student,u're are to be attended to as u fall into the long term students category. So, be guided accordingly |
beejay1:It should take not more than 15 working days for the BHC to reach a decision on your application. |
chinesedoll:It's Ok,just make sure she applies as soon as those documents are ready .The rush at the visa section of the BHC could sometimes reach crisis proportions.Am sure u don't want yo sis to go thru all that hassles in the name of visa application.would be applying for mine next week tho. All the best |
chinesedoll:Yo sister could actually apply as from tommorrow being the 16th.No need to be scared of the time frame, this timing is well within the time limit set by the BHC.Wish u guys all the best |
realcool:Could u give details of the previous UK application. It may not feasible to acess his/her chances without this. |
@Busy body U could quite be uncouth n unruly.Wiv all that u just said,i av no doubt that u got no regards for people whatsoever. In any case,Won't give u the gratification of another anger vexed.Pls do take yo ill manners else where.Never u undermine what this forum is set out to do in the first place:to informatively educate people.always keep that in mind. Remember this ,I bear u no ill will. would apreciate civil comments from u next time.THANK U Do av a nice week end |
@siena Could You IM me,there's s/thing really urgent that i need to confirm from You.Ok m online now,my addy is jazzykoncept@yahoo.com |
@Elo sela,Busy_Body I can't have the both of u undermine the integrity of my thread. This is a public forum where every one reserves the right to air their opinions wiv out insulting those made by others. If this bitching and dissing continues,u gals might as well loose crediblity on this thread and indeed this forum at large. Be properly guided you two @Siena Pls watch these gals cos i won't take it lightly next time they continue this ill behaviour .How u dey brava? |
dreeldee:well said brava,no one has said it all better than U.Just hope people out there would harken to the voice of reason. |
@incagold what exactly are saying, that the BHC is now selective on the categories of visa to process. What crap!,I din't even buy that hog wash one bit.In any case, let's see if what happens in coming weeks, prospective students go hear am this time i dey tell una |
@poster What a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If indeed true, lots of prospective students will cry blue murder Just hope that ain't true |
EloSela:I guess the problems in Naija has been overtly blown out of proportion.I guess the way we're being seen by the international community has more than played a significant role to this end.In any case, the truth of the fact is that as long as u maintain the basic safety rules,u'r very much safe.Just that the utter dearth of many social basic ammenities in the country makes it an unattractive destination for naijas abroad but HOME as they say is HOME.4get the media hype,we're not as bad we've painted to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 naiaralanders abi i no talk una mind? Could s/one rise up to my defence there? |
@onlineise That's cool,i was given admission by that Leeds too but cos of my career aspirations, had to opt for oil and gas engineering in another institution in Scotland.have paid my tuition fees in full ,just a little above what u paid as yo tuition fees and since gotten the receipted invoice from the varsity.what worries me is that my sponsor doesn't av enough money in the account at the moment,at least not up to a mill to the best of my knowlegde.Tho the tuition of 13,800 pounds av been paid in full .Am due to apply for the entry clearance/visa next week.In any case, what do u think are my chances wiv the BHC.all other documents like tax clearance etc has been provided n satisfactory? |
when the long queue of traffic during those rush hours periods jolt u back to reality,u'd realize that oh yes!,vis is Lagos indeed |
Buzo1984:Just be careful as U undertake yo adventure here.Naija isn't Europe u know.U need to be wary of people u meet sha but most importantly u must have a place to stay throughout yo holiday period.Need i tell u to avoid illicit fun,u should be a big boy so no need for that. This forum is so full of good spirited individuals ,so never hesitate to tell us yo views about yo experience ova here.Wish u all the best |
