it was indeeed with a mixture of emotions that i proceeded to the VAC(visa application centre ) in VI  to learn the outcome of my Student visa application of 21/08/08 and being that i wasn't contacted by the BHC at all during the 15 workin day processing period made the wait a most nervous one.Neither was my dad/sponsor contacted.
The only consolation  i had was buttressed on the painstaking visa application i was able to put together.Below was the list of documents that i submitted :
1.Tuition fees receipt(I paid i full to the tune of 13,800 pounds)
2.Unconditional offer letter/letter of acceptance
3.Conditional offer letter
4.University cost of living guide
5.Arrival letter/Enrolment notice
6.Accomodation Visa support form(Actualy the university does nt lease accomodation unless one is granted visa)
7.Academic transcripts
8.local gov Identification of origin
9.Primary school leaving certificate
10.jamb Notification of results
11.Undergraduate admission letter
12.affidavit of facts(to cover up for the error in my weac certificate)
13.letter of industrial atachment
14.shares certificates of my sponsor/dad(83 copies in all)
15.tax clearance certificate
16.certificate of occupancy
17.Letter of introduction from the bank( of my sponsor
18.certificate of business incorporation
19.evidence of payment of property rates
20.letter of financial guarantee
21.Nysc discharge certificate
22.Birth certificate
23.Affidavit of fact
24.Online accomadation application form

These were the documents that i submitted that i submitted almost 3weeks ago and today i was given the visa without any form of intrview.I just want to use this opprtuity to thank nairalanders in this particular section for their constructive criticisms which lagely contributed to my taking time to preparing for this visa aplication and hope that this information helps someone out there.

when i arraived this blessed country in the 90's they were struggling to gain their feet at the international standard table, despite the increase in population, they worked very hard, the goverment and the poeple work endlessly to see that their dreams for the country will stand, they engaged in various bids to host various international organized events just to prove to the world that they are capable, in the year 2000 they srtive harder at their pursuit and in 2001 they were given the rights to host one of the most important events in the world 'the olympics' they worked harder, day and night both the goverment officials, the sport administrators, the citizens and the common chinese joined hands to see that the olympics will be the best ever hosted, on the night they anounced that china was to host the olympics tears of joy fell from my eyes and millions of chinese took to the streets with joy. beleive it or not the chinese are one set of people that pratically demontrates cooperation from the top to the least person, they went through series of critics, unforseen incidence and within hours they will be hosting the greatest event ever, please go online, see the olympic stadium they built, see what they have done, their overseas citizens contributed, their goverment work endlessly to see that the dream for one world, one dream will be acheived. my fellow friends, i want to say that these country china is great, great not only for what it's has achived but for they were able to witstand, overcome and conquer. china is an example for other countries like nigeria to emulate, copy and follow suit. the work not only lies in the hands of the goverment but in the hands of the citizens, we need to put our spirit together to achieve one goal. wish one day NIGERIA will go as far as china has gone, hey readers. beleive it or not i see china to be the greatest nation in a matter of years to come and i am proud not only to have visited this great country but to be part of it in many positive ways, i hope those who intend to come will also join me in congatulating the chinese for their efforts and achievements.ONE WORLD ONE DREAM IS THE MOTTO FOR CHINA AND I STRONGLY SUPPORT CHINA'S MOTTO ANYTIME ANYDAY! LONG LIVE THE PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF CHINA, LONG LIVE THE COOPERATION THAT LEIS BETWEEN NIGERIA AND CHINA AND LONG LIVE THE COOPERATION OF BOTH COUNTRIES! LAST NOTE: FOR THOSE OF US AFRICANS WHO COME TO CHINA TO DISGRACE OUR ROOTS, SHAME UNTO YOU,FOR THOSE OF US AFRICANS WHO COME TO BE GOOD AMBASSODORS OF AFRICA , MORE GRACE TO YOUR EFFORTS. CHINA IS A PEACEFUL AND LOVING COUNTRY AND FOREIGNERS LIKE US WOULD LIKE IT TO BE THAT WAY. ONE CHINA! ONE WORLD! ONE DREAM!!!!
That was quite an impressive detail.i just hope that Nigeria would take a cue from the Asians

landis:
technically, you don't need US Visa.

You need to have the Baby in the US airspace.

So get VISA to Honduras/colombia/cuba etc, take any European airline.

Stimulate the baby to come mid-air.

The pilot needs to submit the baby info when you land.

Place of Birth = United State since you in their airspace.

I have been a keen observer of the trend in this particular section of nairaland forum and have made quite an interesting discovery. Most issues concerning the UK generally get more respondents or feedback than would one peculiar to the USA,Canada and less conspicously.Suffice it to say that The UK has become some what increasingly popular in our country in recent times.
The aim of this thread is to examine the reasons behind this.Could it be that there are more Nigerians living in the UK or what?or there more prospective immigrants to the UK or what? Now is the time to clearly define why people would passionately condemn and some others laugh at policies enacted in their countries of interest.

I would savour all yo feedback.Let's get on with this

absolutely !!,i couldn't agree more
TravelWhen The Quest To Travel Abroad Becomes An Obsession by 8ball(op): 9:10pm On Jul 29, 2008
This is by far a menace that seriously needs to be curbed if not purged.Travelling abroad tho av been seen in the country by many uninformed people as a shortcut to wealth n enormous affluence. When planning to travel abroad, one has to make sure it is for the right reasons and for legitimate reasons.so much av been said about our bravas and sisters scattered all ova in diaspora barely managing to scrape a living out there and yet cannot come back to their home country cos they will either be the laughing stock of friends and foes alike or worse still, face humiliation upon return at the Airports. The quest to travel out of the country ought not be an obsession if it is for a valid or good reason.

I have a friend that has just been refused visa to Europe for the 12th time. After critically examining his situation,i found out that he wants to travel out at all costs.i advised him to think properly and seek out productive opportunities lurking in the country.

A lot of people are still caught up in this obsession. It is our duty to counsel them or what do u guys think?

Tho i gave u the benefit of doubt,i still find it rather difficult to believe that u could actually obtain Uk student visa without holding an unconditional offer from any varsity.Mind you, most of us are well versed in the standard procedures involved in these visa applications.i don't think u can pull ova my eyes.

If indeed u av the visa then i suggest u make good the opportunity and avoid messing up yo life by entangling with unnecessary and somewhat dangerous social vices prevalent in the society.

One of the major problems with Nigerians scrambling to go abroad is because of the situation back home and as far as it remains the way it is, Nigerians will still be emigrating and as some have stated here, some people also go back home living a false life giving those there the impression that the UK is a bed of roses where money comes easily. Even if you tell the average Nigerian back there the situation in the UK, believe me he wont listen to you and he probably will hate you labeling you an enemy to his progress or that you don't like him to be successful like you are. Some of us probably must have felt this way at one point too after being told same thing (life in the UK) by either our UK based relation or friends before leaving the country too except of course if you were born in the UK. The answer lies in how well we're able to make our own country a comfortable place for us to live.
well said brava,no one has said it all better than U.Just hope people out there would harken to the voice of reason.

EloSela:
I am scared of going to Nigeria. My family are from the Delta region and the last time I touched down there was in 2006. It is ironic that the richest part of Nigeria hardly had any electricity and as soon as it was dark (around 9pm) criminals and other non-entities took over the street.

I find it really funny that people will suggest that if you want to go to Nigeria that one should stay away from the places like Ketu and the like which to me are places that are very real to most Nigerians in that 70% of the populous live like that. To advise one to just stay in places like VGC and Lekki which to me are areas in Lagos that are trying so desperately hard to be westernised and only a minimal amount of Nigerians live that way is quite pretentious in my book. What every happened to sampling the real Nigeria?
I guess the problems in Naija has been overtly blown out of proportion.I guess the way we're being seen by the international community has more than played a significant role to this end.In any case, the truth of the fact is that as long as u maintain the basic safety rules,u'r very much safe.Just that the utter dearth of many social basic ammenities in the country makes it an unattractive destination for naijas abroad but HOME as they say is HOME.4get the media hype,we're not as bad we've painted to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
