I have read all the comments on this thread and I'm surprised that nobody seems to remember that BH once threatened to kill the President. Well, I suspect they believe GEJ will meet them alone to receive a suicide bomber's hug as it happened in Pakistan. If Boko boys are tired, let them go and hang. After all, "Die na Die"

How could Boko Haram say western education is sacriledge when Prophet Mohammed PBUH said “The ink of a scholar is more sacred than the blood of a martyr.”

Jonathan is a lame duck president. If it isn't national insecurity it is devastating corruption. nigeria needs a revolution, either through protests or war. How long can the country keep going like this? There was an article I read about the next emerging economic powers, and to my dismay nigeria was listed as one of them (http://blog.euromonitor.com/2008/02/the-next-11-emerging-economies.html)

To all the nincompoops who belittle we, who are tired of the nigeria of today who long for something better by reciting the Biafran National Anthem, you can go to hell. I would say that Biafra was unsuccessful because the british supported the nigerian forces. If you will remember your history lesson, it took the british one year to defeat the Arochukwu confederacy from 1901-1902. They probably theorized that the nigerian forces could not defeat Biafra on its own. So they resorted to seige mentality and starved women and children like cowards instead of fighting like men!

LBT: People easily forgot the yoruba reprisals of mushin, mile 12,ikorodu,agege,kwara state and shagamu were thousands of hausa people got killed, if lagos is bombed by any group; thousands of their kins will get killed in reprisals the kind that has never been witnessed by Nigeria before. We yorubas have never been cowards and to keep the record straight the Ibos betrayed us during the civil war by attacking Ore ondo state which made the yoruba people take sides with the federal govt. You say you are ourv friend and you attacked us. Check you history before us talk but I pray that lagos or south west, mid west, south south or south east is not bombed because it might mean the end of Nigeria.

1. Nigeria should train and enlist all those jobless youths into a military program, pay them very well (plus benefits and free housing) and put them in the North to fight against Boko Horam and to secure peace, by fire by force.

2. All the equipments (bombs andguns) Boko Horam are using NOW were brought into Nigeria during the election period but were never used.

3. Nigeria needs western support to build a strong intelligence team BUT the average Nigerian does not have any values needed for build a support team. (1) no honesty (2) no integrity

4. The problem of Boko Horam will not just go away. It will only morph into something else even if it does, because there is no eco-support system for change. No good schools, half-baked graduates, no jobs, most women are aristos and sex slaves, then the one percent of people who can create change (1) hand out bottles of perfumes (2) only give bags of rice during christmas (3) make good useful education 1 million naira plus ……. hence there is the next generation of hungry, underdeveloped, and lost youths waiting and will be lost in the system. Many dream of becoming rappers, or travelling out of the country.

Will Boko Horam come to Lagos? Maybe…. was Lagos safe without Boko Horam? No
There are still untold stories of kidnappings, armed robberies, assassinations, rape, and such….so why should people care if they get bombed away….. The likely hood of being alive in Lagos was slim anyway.

Nigerians DO NOT want change yet. When you are ready, you will change. In the midst of the chaos, parties are still going on, people are popping Moet bottles, opening extremely expensive shops, Are Nigerians ready for change? NO!!
Just be careful not to call thieves like Tinubu heroes.

norrisman: All the people sitting behing Mac laptops in houses fenced so high and with abokis as security men claiming the will finish BH if they come to Lagos, Benue e.t.c. are morons. If you had the resources to finish BH, why dont u make a proposal to FGN and give a price.

You are all stupid keyboard warriors and your case is akin to that of a school kid who says "slap me and you,ll see what will happen". When he gets slapped, he simply says "slap me one more time and you'll see". He keeps repeating the later statement after every new slap until he becomes deaf or breaks down in tears.

BH mofos have been killing your Xtian 'brethren' in the north since 2009, why do you need them to attack Lagos to show your anger?

Because most of them are evil bigots that don't even know what it means to actually be Christians.

"Those attributing the Boko Haram phenomenon to politics and economics are ignorant; they don’t know what they are talking about.  There is nothing political about Boko Haram whose sole mission is the use of violent means to Islamize Nigeria. It is fueled by frustrations that Nigeria's illegal membership of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) has not produced the desired result after many years. Adding to this frustration is the fact that the Sharia crusade of the Northern Muslim Hausa-Fulani States failed to record the anticipated success. The only political dimension to Boko Haram is the thinking that if Nigeria is completely Islamized, power will always reside with the Northern Muslim Hausa-Fulani. And so, the chances of an "infidel" like Jonathan coming to power when Nigeria is under Islamic rule would never exist.

Boko Haram is not a recent phenomenon in Northern Nigeria; it has always been there, vigorously pursuing the Islamization of Nigeria. The only new development is that they have upped the level of violence deployed to achieve their objectives. Their motivation for raising the level of violence is not related to domestic economic and political matters; rather, it is motivated by the recent and on-going escalation of world-wide Islamic terrorism".

Re: Boko Haram To Bomb Lagos And Abuja In 72 Hours Unless: (Called AIT Editor) by Nobody: 5:26pm On May 05, 2012
The surge in violence by Islamists in the North after GEJ won may have been encouraged by Northern politicians, but these murderers are now obviously out of control. They got in touch with Al Qaida and discarded the politicians. The genie is out of the bag and can't be contained.

GEJ can't fix the BH menace, no one can. How do u stop bombs from going off in a vast region like the North? Is it this Police that has been useless for years even before GEJ came to power that will overnight function like the FBI? Which country has successfully stopped homegrown Islamist suicide bombers? Iraq? Pakistan? Or Afghanistan?

GEJ should ignore the call for negotiation on AIT. It doesn't even deserve an answer.

FG should continue with the security crackdown. Some bombs will go off, some will be stopped.

The best solution is an orderly dissolution of the entity called Nigeria OR
True federalism where each state/region is fully independent and with 100% resource control, with only the central armed forces and a ceremonial president funded by tax payers.

Feel free to continue burying your head under the sand. The sect has openly said (in fluent Hausa language videos and interviews) what they want and why they are doing it, but some people would rather believe fancy conspiracy theories.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/jan/27/boko-haram-nigeria-sharia-law

{The Islamist group Boko Haram, which has killed almost 1,000 people in Nigeria, will continue its campaign of violence until the country is ruled by sharia law, a senior member has told the Guardian.

"We will consider negotiation only when we have brought the government to their knees," the spokesman, Abu Qaqa, said in the group's first major interview with a western newspaper. "Once we see that things are being done according to the dictates of Allah, and our members are released [from prison], we will only put aside our arms – but we will not lay them down. You don't put down your arms in Islam, you only put them aside."

Qaqa said Shekau and others had travelled to Saudi Arabia for training and funding. "Al-Qaida are our elder brothers. During the lesser Hajj [last August], our leader travelled to Saudi Arabia and met al-Qaida there. We enjoy financial and technical support from them. Anything we want from them we ask them."

"People were singing songs in [northern cities] Kano and Kaduna saying: 'We want Boko Haram'," Qaqa said, describing how the group can blend into the communities in which it operates. "If the masses don't like us they would have exposed us by now. When Islam comes everyone would be happy," he said.}

Good. Now tell me, what reasons did MEND give for their own attacks? Did they not say they were fighting for the DEVELOPMENT of the Niger Delta? Why did they then agree to cease fire when offered the amnesty program? Oh! So amnesty is now developing ND states abi? Can't u see that the reason given by boko haram is only a cover up?? Can't u see the political undertones? What was a top member doing in a GOVERNMENT LODGE? Oh! He was saying his jumat prayers there!!!!!

^^^do you believe the western government's reporting? why aren't the south muslims asking for the same thing...... Look, Boko boys are largely political. They bomb and kill anyone that speaks up against them. this has nothing to do with support but comes from FEAR.

Boko Horam is the Northern political agenda to destroy Goodluck Jonathan's reign. They can't try this rubbish during Obansanjo's time. Why? Obasanjo will tame the murrerfunkers. Jonathan is weak.
