Dialogue.. dialogue... dialogue, very important in every relationship. Finding a way to voice out each person's opinion(s) without getting temperamental always works. When this step is taken and results in no common agreement, then and only then should you go technical by involving third parties. Suffice it to say any man that cannot handle this dialogue stage isn't worth paying a bride price in the first place.

IMHO, he didn't really mean it literally. Maybe it is just a cocky way of venting over your busy schedule, and you misunderstood him. You took it too serious probably because of his previous concerns over the issue. My advise is don't take his word for it until both of you sit down and deliberate over it. And since you already know how uncomfortable he is with your job schedule, keep an open mind when having that discussion, don't make him feel like he's punishing you or something. Weigh every workable option even if it comes with some compromise. Mutual understanding is vital and should be the goal; for the sake of your family not for personal ego.
