One annoying thing I see on Nairaland and indeed all over the world is that when someone prominent dies, it has to be a conspiracy...or inside Job....not an ordinary death.

If the COAS was an ordinary somebody, would there have been speculaiton about his death like this?

Also, it is funny that the people who mocked the Army when the COAS was alive, are now shouting conspiracy when he is dead.

All in all, PDP and APC should stop playing games with us.

There was no inside job. It was an accident. Soldier come, soldier go...plus he was not particularly effective against Boko (and Shekau dying does not mean the end of the insurgency...we have work to do...a lot.)

MTN Unveils 5G Network in Nigeria With Demo in Abuja

Following an announcement made in July last year, MTN Nigeria has kicked off its plans to launch 5G internet connectivity in Nigeria with a live demo that took place today in Abuja.

This demo is following a similar demo by the telco company in South Africa where the company was able to attain a speed of 20 Gigabytes per second with less than 5 minutes latency.

Recently, we announced that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) was making plans to deploy 5G Network in the country, with MTN’s live demonstration in Abuja, the telco company has put itself one step ahead of the NCC.
Benefits and Effects of 5G Network

With the launch of 5G comes faster internet connectivity. Some of the advantages of 5G Network over 4G Network include an increased capacity. 5G Network has 1000 times the capacity of 4G.

With 5G, the number of devices that can be connected is 100 times that of a 4G Network. This does not slow down the speed, rather the speed of a 5G Network is 100 times the speed of a 4G Network.

The latency experienced on a 5G Network is found to be 10 times lower than that on 4G. All of these benefits cumulatively make 5G Network 10 times more reliable than its 4G counterpart.

All of these benefits come at a price of faster data consumption. Reviews from users on MTN’s 4G Network showed that data got exhausted speedily. Concerns have arisen over the prospective 5G Network about the effect it will have on data consumption.

As part of its efforts to alleviate the concerns, the telco company has repeatedly said that it is committed to providing quality data at affordable prices to Nigerians.

Speaking on the benefits of 5G Network to subscribers, CEO of MTN

“5G will make our life better, drive incremental capacity and open up new businesses. MTN as a company is constantly making efforts to break barriers by democratising voice and data connectivity in order to improve subscriber experience, and has invested over N800 billion in infrastructure in Nigeria.”
Ferdi Moolman, CEO of MTN Nigeria

Following MTN’s demo, the telco company will continue with its plans to make 5G Network available in Nigerian cities.

Paying 12% or more interest on treasury bills and then expecting people to establish factories is insanity multiply by insanity.

Why should I invest my 1 billion Naira in agricultural sector when I can get 120 million profits on it by just fixing it in the bank for few months?
Why should I create job when i can get 15% profit with a mere phone call or 100% from forex trade?

Yes Nigeria is going through very tough moments as a country. We have been involved so much more than any other time in our history to change the whole narrative of our country and this is certainly why we are here in Germany because in times of great need, it's only natural that we turn to our strong allies for support in our fight against corruption, our to industrialisation and rebuilding value culture in our political systems.
It's tough not only for my wife but many Nigerians who have voiced their opinions about reforms we are engaging in now. Do we have a better time than now to implement this reforms ? YES!!! When? 30 or 56 years ago. We are behind time, our future is been eaten away and any delay after now will spell dom for Nigeria. But the truth is that anybody that is out to do this work must only believe in God, be ready to work alone and in the instance, lay his down for the nation. This what leadership of Nigeria deserves at this point in our history.

Osun govt says CAN being misled over school reforms

Christian secondary school students in Osun State on Tuesday wore church garments to their schools, in a dramatic but defiant protest against the use of Hijab by female Muslim students.
Students attended Baptist High School, Adeeke in Iwo town of Osun State and Salvation Army Middle School, Alekuwodo, in the church robes.
The state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria has been up against the state government allowing Hijab in schools.
Last week, CAN warned that Christian students in public schools will start wearing church garments to school if Governor Rauf Aregbesola goes ahead to implement a judgment by the state High Court legalizing the use of hijab by Muslim students.
A statement released Friday by CAN chairman, Elisha Ogundiya, said the decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the association’s executive committee, and heads of Churches held in Osogbo on June 7.
“Where the Osun State Government is inclined to implementing the judgment Christian students in all public schools founded by Christians with the toil and sweat of our forefathers in the faith will have no choice but to start wearing Christian garments and vestments as part of their school uniform for the propagation of our own faith given the Justice Saka Oyejide Falola declared right of Muslim Female Students to do same as what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander as well,” the statement read.
“Adherents of other faiths who have their choice to make in this matter can wear theirs as well.”
The association appealed the court ruling, which amongst many things, it said implied that hijab was a means of propagation of Islam which it stated was a fundamental right of Muslim girls and ladies.

“This declaration violates the religious right of the original owners of the missionary schools as agreed upon when the schools were taken over by the then government of Oyo State in 1975,” it said.
The association also accused the governor, Rauf Aregbesola, of masterminding the judgment in line with his “Islamization Agenda”, arguing that this had been earlier stated by the Directorate of Military Intelligence in 2012 based on credible intelligence and corroborated by Osun CAN in 2014.
“This unshed toga of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola flies in the face of the fact of the overwhelming number of Christians in Osun State vis-a-vis Muslims,” the statement further said.Students of Baptist High School, Iwo wearing Christian Garments to school
On Tuesday, students decked in church robes arrived Baptist High School, Adeeke in Iwo town at about 8.30am.
Officials of the Christian Association of Nigeria were on hand to observe the reaction of the teachers.
Apparently having a pre-knowledge of the development, the teachers did not react to the new dress codes. They quietly went on with their teaching schedules for the day.
The drama also took place at the Salvation Army Middle School, Alekuwodo, where female Muslim students who wore hijab were allowed into school, as well as those wearing church garments.
Similarly, CAN officials were present to ensure no student was sent back home.
The principal of Baptist High School, Omotayo Arowolo, said there was no crisis in school, despite the development.
He said the teachers were in their classes doing their normal teaching activities, noting that no student was chased out.
“We are here to ensure that no student is send back home from school,” said Head of the Catholic Bloc of CAN in Iwo, Paul Olagoke.
“We are here to defend the right of our children, since the female Muslim ‎students are free to wear hijab, our own children also are free to wear anything.”

The current structure will and cannot hold. People's eyes Don dey open say all these while we just dey together to serve interest of Northern Nigeria. They contribute the least to the whole and take away the most of the whole. Let's face it. If we were practicing true fiscal federalism, there is no way book haram would have succeeded. This is because the maiguduri elder would have shut it down not even the northern elders. But they knew the game was at the center and their elders and the larger north supported them in every manner. Now Atiku is investing heavily in Adamawa and a such the security of the state is very important to him. If all people invest heavily in their location, they will all their power to checkmate in security in that location.

Talk about curruption, which is easier, people of state demanding accountability from their leaders or from the president. At the center, ethnic and religious sentiment will affect every genuine effort to stamp out corruption.

We will be cowards not the sit down and face the restructuring of these country now. The population is increasing, people are becoming more aware of the gursome injustice parked in our constitution and there is a need to integrate fairness , equity and justice for this society to remain an entity. The adsence of these Nigeria is Zooooo that the animals are getting wide without control and it will fall apart without control soon.

Lastly how many people have to die for us to remain a country. That shows that something is very wrong with the current structure.
