Aggrieved Niger Delta ex-Militants under the Presidential Amnesty scheme have written President Muhammadu Buhari demanding the sack of the Amnesty boss, Prof Charles Dokubo over alleged fraud. The repentant agitators are also accusing Prof Dokubo of incompetence, fraudulent diversion of funds meant for the training, empowerment and welfare of beneficiaries. According to the group, the alleged series of misconduct by the scheme’s boss can no longer be condone and are demanding that a replacement be made with someone with an in-depth knowledge of the problems of the region and the demands of the ex-militants. In the letter addressed to President Buhari, the group said the rising tension and anger among ex-Militant leaders from the Nine States of the Niger Delta may result into wanton crash of the peace programme sustained in the last few years. Though the accused Amnesty boss “is in the habit of paying some fictitious groups and criminal elements to declare support for his criminal activities”, the group said 'enough is enough of the wanton fraud' being perpetuated in the Amnesty office. “We are tired of the huge fraud that has threatened the peace we fought for in the Niger Delta. If Dokubo is not sacked, the issue of rising production of crude oil may be a thing of the past. Dokubo does not know how to handle the security office which the Amnesty office is meant to be.’ “It is even more shameful to the people of the Niger Delta that Dokubo has reduced the Amnesty office and the budgeted funds to ridicule with women fighting over ex-Militant welfare fund. Dokubo should be reassigned to the university environment and not the amnesty office. He does not understand what the Amnesty office is meant to do. We are angry and our boys may go out of control. “Why can’t Dokubo emulate the zero tolerance to corruption style of President Buhari? Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh who despite understanding the security aspect of the Amnesty office was sacked due to alleged corruption, who is Dokubo that cannot be sacked? Instead of performance, he is busy using Amnesty resources to sponsor media campaigns against the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva and High Chief Government Ekpemupolo also known as Tompolo. “Dokubo is a disgrace to the Niger Delta people and we want him sacked and be replaced by someone who was involved in the Niger Delta struggle and understand the problems of the youths of the region.” The group alleged that some of their members who served on the Investigative Panel set up by Prof Dokubo to look into the massive looting at the Amnesty Centre in Bayelsa State, ere dissolved when discoveries indicted him over alleged involvement in the criminal act. “The activities of the Amnesty office under Charles Dokubo is rubbishing the achievement recorded by the President Buhari administration in the Niger Delta”, the statement added. http://igberetvnews.com/1013548/ex-militants-demand-sack-amnesty-boss-alleged-fraud/ Lalasticlala, Mynd44, OAM4J

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has boosted access of Ilorin, Kwara State, and its environs to petroleum products supply as the Group Managing Director, Mallam Mele Kyari, re-commissioned the Ancient City’s NNPC Depot. Igbere TV gathers that the Ilorin Depot is part of the corporation’s System 2B Pipeline Network knocked down more than eight years ago due to acts of pipeline vandalism. Speaking at the event Saturday in Ilorin, the NNPC GMD said the re-commissioning was aimed at restoring petroleum products supply and distribution for the benefit of Nigerians and in line with the vision of President Buhari to make Nigerians happy and bring peace to every home. A release on Sunday on its official Twitter handle/website, said Mallam Kyari stated that the event was historic for NNPC in its quest to resuscitate its assets across the country, adding that Ilorin and its environs would be saved from the vagaries of bridging following the recommissioning of the depot. While acknowledging the corporation’s success in restreaming a couple of its depots and pipelines, the GMD stressed that NNPC would not relent in its efforts until all pipeline networks in the country are revitalized. Mallam Kyari declared that vandalism was inimical to all parties’ interests, the NNPC and host communities’ whose commercial activities are also negatively impacted. Kwara State Governor, Mallam, Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, who witnessed the recommissioning of the depot, commended the NNPC for its foresight in restoring the operations at the facility, saying that the development would bring prosperity to the State. “The NNPC has saved us the stress of moving products through trucks through hundreds of kilometers with its attendant hazards and will help in securing our national assets”, the Governor enthused. The group equally praised the CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, for the role she played. The statement which was posted on NIDCOM’s official Twitter handle, Sunday evening, reads; “We, the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the NCWC wish to wholeheartedly express our appreciation to Barr Onyema for the charitable gestures to ensure the successful evacuation of Nigerians from South Africa as a result of recent xenophobic attacks.http://igberetvnews.com/1013513/xenophobia-nigerians-safrica-thank-air-peace-dabiri-erewa/ Lalasticlala, Mynd44, OAM4J

Dr Bello Muhammad has emerged as the new Medical Director (MD) of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Gusau, Zamfara State. This followed the approval and ratification of his appointment by the President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government, last week. A statement obtained by Igbere TV signed by Mrs Enefaa Bob-Manuel, on behalf of the Minister of Health, said the appointment was for a period of four years with effect from Sept. 29. The statement urged the new MD to “consolidate” and “improve” upon his predecessor’s “achievement” to “justify the confidence” reposed on him by the federal government. “It is expected that you work collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that the hospital continues to deliver quality health care services to our people,” it said. The Minister noted that what was lacking in the hospital was not equipment but hygiene, stressing that unsanitary conditions drove people away. He, therefore, urged the new MD to improve on hygiene and other sanitary conditions at the hospital and its environs. He advised him to “treat patients like customers” and with respect, adding that “there should be a steady flow of water and electricity supply in the hospital always.” http://igberetvnews.com/1009957/buhari-makes-new-appointment/ Lalasticlala, Mynd44, OAM4J

So he feels what you are feeling right now and he shares your pains and that is why you are welcome here. “By the grace of God, the spirit of God will lead him to do what is best for you. Xenophobia: ex-Minister Makes Strong Case For The Igbos A former minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, has made quite a strong case for the South easterners (Igbos) in Nigeria, Igbere TV reports. Fani-Kayode has called on Nigerians to stop stereotyping the Igbos following an act by the Founder of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, who is from the Southeast region. Igbere TV had reported Onyema, using his Airline, evacuated 187 Nigerians from South Africa, following the renewed xenophobic attacks in that country. They were airlifted by Air Peace at no cost, while the Airline company bears the entire bill burden for their flight, according to the Founder. This development has caused many Nigerians to heap praises and prayers on Onyema, even as some pledged to make Air Peace their official flying company. Reacting to the development in a tweet sighted by Igbere TV on Saturday, Mr Fani-Kayode wrote; “Next time you complain about Igbos or subject them to the usual nonsensical racial-stereotyping kindly remember that when our compatriots were being slaughtered in South Africa it was an Igbo man called Onyema that sent his planes to bring them home and he did so free of charge!” https://twitter.com/realFFK/status/1172613518086017024?s=19 http://igberetvnews.com/980219/xenophobia-ex-minister-makes-strong-case-for-the-igbos/ Lalasticlala, Mynd44, OAM4J
