I read some posts here and laugh. Make I give foreign people a highly valuable book (diamond and gold) for free. Just like that?

Some people are so dumb. Even if I send the book to a fellow African, he should consider himself extremely lucky.

Interestingly, within the last three years, I've only gifted it to two people on Nairaland, and one of them persuaded me so much and while the other one is a highly intelligent person, who had sent tons of valuable books to me in the past.

Some books are so valuable and rare because of their content and you can't see them around anyhow.

After those people and the few others before then, I don't ever plan to send any book to anyone on Nairaland. And it's because of the nonsense some morons said here and fools like them offline.

When I first came across the book then, I intended to send it to as many Africans as possible to enable Africans, especially Nigerians, to inculcate the culture of philosophy, science, critical thinking, and keeping historical records into the native cultures and traditions.

However, I soon realized that most Africans don't really care about these subjects because of their low level of intelligence.

Hence, if it's not in scientific studies published in journals and conferences, some knowledge won't make it to the public through me.

If not that some people are fools, you read posts that claim your god was caged by some forces. Whether it's true or not, you don't know.

Who are those forces? You don't know them.

Your god said he's all-powerful and almighty. When can't he declare it loud and clear that he wasn't caged?

But he didn't. His cager (as claimed) compiled a history book for years, finished it, and sent it to people. This same book will bring about the death of your religion. Yet, your god couldn't touch this person during all those years.

But it's you, a dumbo, on Nairaland that wants to defend his god against forces he doesn't know and can't see.

While I know such a feat is possible using some techniques in physics, I've not personally verified the claim.

Even so, as an agnostic with humane feelings, I want the source of terrorism in this world to be cut off.

This is an interesting study. This is science at PhD and post-doctorate level. Obviously, if your IQ is low, you can't understand it.

If any of these foreign scientists working on such studies luckily stumbles on Otem or his book, they've hit a jackpot.

There are so many interesting research ideas in the book, and a person can only select a few and focus on them.

I read this news report yesterday and laughed. Only the wise know how the outcome of this sort of research and analysis would impact science in the coming years.

I don't think Nigeria has produced any reputable philosopher. Pre~colonial & post colonial era in Igboland, education was not free, though there was a scholarship system for the bright students. Nonetheless, astrology is more or less guesswork, conjecture. Sometimes, it seems to be accurate, but at many others times, it doesn't.

I think evolution could be the major reason for this, as well as the mysterious nature of time.

Another challenge that makes it difficult to accurately predict future events many times is that theoretically, it's possible for certain people to influence future events.

Such people can travel forward in time to influence certain things in the present, which would shape the future.

Actually, many languages of the world were invented by humans with such a gift.

There are theoretical frameworks in Physics that actually deal with this (time travel), and any civilization that can master how to travel at the speed of light or faster can influence the future.

This has been achieved in the past on this planet.

The key lesson is, the future isn't set or cast in stone; only the past (what has already happened) is.

And as you study Physics at the quantum level and even at a deeper level (more fundamental physics), you realize chance or probability is an inherent property of nature.

On a serious note, I've not come across a relatively well-known philosopher from Igbo culture in modern times.

In Yoruba culture, the only relatively popular philosopher I can think of right now in modern times was the late Prof. Sophie Oluwole, whose oeuvre (or body of work) includes "Socrates and Ọ̀rúnmìlà: Two Patron Saints of Classical Philosophy" and others.

Late Prof. Tekena Tamuno, an Ijaw man and former VC of the University of Ibadan, was a reputed historian, not a philosopher per se.

However, I know there would be philosophers of note in these cultures known to those that major in Philosophy in Nigerian universities.

Nevertheless, in modern times, Africa needs a lot more people majoring in Philosophy and different fields of Science.

Thanks to Newton, scientists understand the physics involved in the masquerade's display. However, there are still many phenomena which can be observed in festivals and events like this in the Igbo culture, which scientists are yet to explain the physics underlying them.

An Igbo physicist can look into some of them and study the phenomena when he/she partakes in the native festivals to discover the physics underlying those phenomena.

I liked the attached photo, which was posted by an Isese adherent on Facebook. The picture depicts past humans, who are the ancestors of Yoruba people, worshipped as one god or the other in modern times.

Want to know what your Allah or Yahweh (past humans and ancestors of the Arabs and Israelites respectively) looks like? Look at the modern humans in those places to get an idea of what the human you worship as God looked like when he lived on earth in the past.
