Trevor012:I can see you're not all right in the head. Just a moment ago, you said he didn't call Madrid underdogs. Then, the post where he said so was shown to you, instead of you to admit you've been saying nonsense since, you even added more balderdash. Keep arguing with yourself. Na you know wetin you dey argue about. Argument wey no get head or tail. |
Trevor012:Ask Google. Go and learn English grammar using the Queen Primer series again. Based on the venue where I watched the match yesterday, Madrid were seen as favorites to win. Simple statement in English. The sample used for the conclusion is clearly stated there. |
pkasso:If he had even called Inter an underdog, I wouldn't even mind. But a whole Madrid? Then, he even added Liverpool. Lols |
Trevor012:Go and read the post you quoted again. But this time, ask someone that understands English to help you translate it to your mother tongue. In the post you quoted, I clearly stated the sample (the spectators I watched the game with) I used to draw my conclusion. |
Trevor012:Your argument dey meaningless and baseless. This is how the issue started. You can see the list of those teams he called underdogs there. Madrid, the biggest team in the tournament and defending champions, is in the list. That's the bone of contention. No dey make argument wey no get head or tail. Greatihex: |
Trevor012:Your argument no get head or tail. This was my initial post. A001: |
Clowns plenty for here sha. Man City against Inter in the final, City are expected to win because they've a stronger squad. That doesn't make Inter an underdog. Only a clown calls Inter Milan with 3 CL titles an underdog. Underdog is a term used for teams called a dark horse in a tournament such as Club Brugge, Celtic, Sporting Lisbon, and co. Use your dictionary before embarrassing yourself in public. |
Trevor012:Na you dey type nonsense all about. Check my initial post you quoted. I clearly stated Madrid and underdog can't be in the same sentence as far as UCL is concerned. Then, you quoted me without even understanding the post you quoted. |
So, there must be an underdog in every match. This one don kolo ![]() |
Jodera:I don't understand o. A whole Madrid for that matter. The defending champions. The only club to win 3 UCL titles in a row twice. |
Trevor012:As of now, only a clown puts Madrid and underdog in the same sentence as far as UCL is concerned. Some people might expect their opponents to win a game, that doesn't make Madrid an underdog. Do you even know underdog means? I don't think so. Teams you can call underdogs in the UCL are Celtic, Shakhtar Donetsk, Club Brugge, and the likes. Stop saying nonsense. |
andrew444:So, against a Man City with zero CL titles, Madrid, the defending champions coached by the most accomplished manager in the tournament, were the underdogs. Lols. So, if Madrid had won yesterday, you'd call that an upset. Lols, clowns full this thread sha |
Trevor012:Na English be your problem. Na you dey carry odds all about as a habitual gambler. I clearly stated, among those fans I watched the match yesterday, Madrid were seen as the favorites. Na you dey mention odds all about. |
At least, use your dictionary before you embarrass yourself. |
Clowns. Getting higher odds means that their opponents have more chances of winning. That's simply probability and doesn't make the team an underdog. English is definitely una problem. |
andrew444:So, in every match, there must be an underdog abi? And Madrid was the underdog against Man City? Do you know what underdog means? No, I don't think so. Use your dictionary. |
Trevor012:You've not made any single sense so far. So a team with 14 titles at the semi-finals coached by arguably the best manager in the tournament isn't the favourites, but another one with zero titles are. So Madrid was the underdog yesterday abi? Check what underdog means in a dictionary before quoting me unnecessarily. |
Trevor012:I'm telling you what I witnessed in the viewing center where I watched the game yesterday. I don't care about your odds as I don't gamble. Maybe Madrid was the underdog yesterday then if you don't know who an underdog is. |
Greatihex:Na English be your problem. Madrid is the most successful club in UCL with 14 titles. Liverpool is the most successful English club in UCL with 6 titles. Yet, you called these two clubs that are much bigger than Man City wey never win spoon for Europe underdogs against City in the CL. I see you don't know what underdog means, calling two of the biggest clubs in a tournament underdogs. In this season's final, there are no favorites, but Man City has higher chances of winning. Based on achievements, Inter are the bigger club. In yesterday's game, more people predicted a win for Madrid than they did for Man City. Madrid, being the biggest club in the tournament, were the favorites to win yesterday. |
Pep is a genius. No surprises in Man City winning the crucial tie yesterday. I expected them to beat Madrid. That first leg result was crucial. Someone called Man City a bigger club than Chelsea. In what universe is Man City bigger than us? Based on what achievements? Also, another person listed Madrid and Liverpool as underdogs against City. In what planet are Madrid with 14 CL titles and Liverpool with 6 CL titles underdogs? Lols, what are underdog and Madrid doing in the same sentence as far as UCL is concerned? As far as European football is concerned, Man City never achieve anything. But I expect them to win their first CL title this season against Inter. |
raumdeuter:The solution is to address the root causes of these clashes. But adopting the US gun laws that are largely ineffective will only turn a bad situation to a severe one. |
Donjazet2:I've addressed this issue here before. Cultures should be dynamic. They should evolve and change with the times. I don't have any issues with LGBTQ+ people. Homosexuality is purely natural, and there's nothing wrong with it, even though I'm straight. It's completely fine to observe certain African traditions as a gay/lesbian person. The important thing is to select and observe the good aspects of the traditions and shun the bad ones. Traditions should change with the times, and it's high time Africans stopped condemning LGBTQ+ people and irreligious folks. Cultures and traditions that don't change and grow with the times die out in the long run. Homosexuality didn't even just begin in Africa in modern times. Some African cultures used to practice it before the advent of Christianity and Islam, two religions that have killed millions of gay and lesbian people in history, especially Christianity. Homosexuality and same-sex marriage should be the least problems for Africans. I believe we've more serious issues such as corruption, poor leadership, poverty, epileptic power supply, low literacy level, religious extremism in need of our attention. Homosexuality isn't an issue at all. |
A40:Yes. |
Greatihex:Bookmarked. |
BlueRayDick:A Guinness World Record holder from Akwa Ibom. Hilda Baci is also from there. |
MorataFC:If Pep can defeat Ancelloti's Madrid, who are the best team in the tournament, is it a weak team like Inter that will stop Pep? |

akwesenana:To the best of my knowledge and understanding, they're elements of the Universe. According to Otem, his sources (Atum and other gods that gave the histories to him) said their source/origin does not have a specific form or name or religion. It's a Great Source of Energy (not meant to be worshipped) and its consciousness exists in the brain of all humans and is part of all living and non-things. It's more or less a system containing all things in existence. But personally, I'm agnostic about God. akwesenana:I don't send books to nlers. If Otem was still coming to Nairaland, he'd have sent his book to you. But it seems he has departed Nairaland for good. You may find his email in one of his posts and contact him to get a copy. He seldom replies emails. 2019 was the last time he replied my own email. Or you may find Zecharia Sitchin's books, Sumerian Tablets, online on sites like https://www.sacred-texts.com/ |
akwesenana:Not centuries ago, but the beginning of life on this planet. They're ETs, cosmocreators, and spacefarers that designed early humans and taught them languages and cultures. Those early humans, which paganists worship as deities today, passed down the stories of Olorun, Abasi, Oghene, Chukwu, Atum, Allah, Yahweh, Mazda, Thor, Ohmorihi, El, Enki, Enlil from one generation to the other as the Creator God in various cultures. For instance, Olorun was the extraterrestrial (a spacefarer) who created early humans (giants) in what's called Yorubaland today. These early humans were created in Olorun's image using advanced consciousness science and advanced genetics. Olorun ruled the land as an ancient king, created early humans primarily to serve him as slaves, and told those humans he's the Supreme God. Yorubas call themselves eru Olorun (Olorun's slaves) as was taught to the early humans (the progenitors) from the beginning of time in Yorubaland, and this teaching was passed down from generation to generation. Atum, Allah, Yahweh, Chukwu, Abassi, Luna, Ojo, Ohmorihi did the same thing in their respective lands, with each claiming to be Supreme God to the humans they created as slaves. In his book of history, Otem explains how Olorun traveled to the Earth from space: "And around Niger, some gods flew to possess the lands. And they were called Abassi, Chuku, Olorun, Oghene and hundreds of others. And they dwelled on the mountaintops until they got their children and until their children had become of age. And they would let their children down by chains or by ladders from the mountaintops and hills. "Now in the land where Olorun had chosen to stay, he stood on a mountain and dwelt there until he had his children. And two of them, namely Obatala, the first of them, and Odua, the second, began to demand of their parents that it was time for them to go to the earth below. And Olorun said, should I let you down like the eagles let down their eaglets?" Then did Odua reply, saying, father, we have no wings to fly, how then shall you cast us down like the eaglets? Let us go with the chain rather, for I fear for my life. "And Obatala said, he is not strong enough. Father, you can let me down and I shall stand on my feet as soon as my feet touch the ground. Then Olorun smiled and said, go with the chains, because I cannot risk losing you both the same day. And Olorun tied the chain to a metal object nailed into the mountain and let down the chain. Then he gave them some tepexes of the soil. Now the two children descended with the chains and began to spread the tepex on the ground. And the air mixed with the tepex to form many living beings. And they began to spread within their lands. And the gods taught them languages and geography, making them to believe that the whole earth was all they had seen." I would have shared related excerpts from other relevant books I've read, but the post will be too long. Now, this story has a lot of depth by the time you read the histories and etymologies in other parts of the book. For instance, after Atum had ruled over ancient Egpyt and created early humans as slaves who saw him as the Supreme God, he left the Earth. In the homo sapiens era, he reincarnated as a homo sapien called Otem in what's modern-day Luxembourg now and narrated some histories the guy we call Otem on Nairaland told in his book. "Otem" and "Atum" are common names in places around Luxembourg. They're Old High Germanic words, and "Otem" means "breath". Otem is actually a very old word, being the base of totem. You may not believe this, but the vast majority of the histories of humans on Earth are lost. Recorded history only accounts for a tiny percentage. Note: The attached picture is Oduduwa or Odua. The first Odua was a nephilim (a giant). He reincarnated in the homo sapiens era (the attached photo).

larride:In Isese, the Supreme God has three manifestations known as Olodumare, Olorun, and Olofin. The Odu Ifa literary corpus explains the three words, which are the names of the Supreme God in Yoruba. As I said before, people that call Olorun a title are the same that say Olorun is the same as Allah and Jehovah. They say Olorun, Allah, Jehovah means God. That's a fallacy and very wrong. Olorun is the name of the Supreme Being or God in Yoruba culture. Allah is the name of the Supreme God in Arabic culture. Do you know the meaning of Bismillah that Muslims open their prayers with? Jehovah is the name of the Supreme Being in Israeli culture. Olorun is starkly different from Allah and Jehovah. Olorun, Allah, and Yahweh are specific names, but God is a title. Different entities have said they're God in history. But there's only one Olorun Olodumare, only one Allah, only one Yahweh. Some people can form a religion tomorrow and say the name of their own Supreme God is Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM). One is a name (FSM); the other is a title (God). |
larride:You're contradicting yourself. Just a while ago, you said Olorun is not in Ifa. Now you said it's there. Olorun Olodumare is the name of the Supreme God in Yoruba culture. Isese adherents pray in Olorun's name. Olorun is not a title. Not all all. It's a specific name, and that's why no one else can bear Olorun. Anyone can claim to be God, which is a title. People that erroneously call Olorun a title are the same that say Olorun is the same as Allah and Yahweh. They all mean God Almighty. That's a confusion of the highest order. larride:I don't confuse things. There was never a time I called Sango the Supreme God in any of my posts. Where your confusion stems from is, I categorise all entities worshipped in religions as gods of religion, whether the major or chief gods such as Olorun Olodumare, Atum, Allah, Yahweh or the lesser gods such as Orunmila, Sango, and others. larride:You're preaching to the choir. |
larride:I know the etymology of Olodumare. But I'm not aware of the difference between Eledumare and Olodumare. Olorun is in Odu Ifa corpus. You're wrong about that. Olorun is one of the oldest words in Yoruba language. |
