A country that cannot provide light, water, health, education, roads, food and other basic amenities for its citizens despite its natural and geographical endowment is a failed state so if Nigeria posesses all these characteristics then its a sure-fire failed state

Chelsea's tactics worked but i would not write Barca off just yet! a score draw is all they need so they don't necessarily have to go to the bridge to defend

I have not been here in a minute cheesy cheesy but what can i say the Mavs are doing pretty well hopefully we could grab the clincher tonight the Spurs's over-reliance on Duncan and Parker would sink them but if they survive tonight they must be killed in Dallas i can't take any Game 7 drama abeg rewind to 06 lol

@Moonstone
Your Hornets really let me down i think CP3 and co. should forfeit one month's pay so they could refund their fans their hard-earned pesos especially in financial times as these gosh i knew y'all would have problems with Denver's offense but i didn't expect it to be this bad
I am saying a prayer for Los Mavs if we survive San Antonio

Celts sweep Pistons lol which was no suprise since it made no financial sense wasting money to go back to Cleveland

I knew the Jazz did not have hope their poor road form and the way they sleep-walked to the playoffs was all the clue i needed the Mavs really dodged a bullet

Portland where very unlucky and who knows what might happen if they get a win at home to keep the series alive but my head tells me this Rockets team would break that jinx and go past the first round

Hawks and Heat definitely has to be the most boring series it was a brickfest last night undecided undecided undecided East coast basketball sucks no offense to Jesoul,Chi-chi and Bawo at this point i couldn't care less who won they going to wind up losing to the Cavs anyway

Krayola:
Being misinformed is one thing. But when you deny reason, even when it is spoon-fed to you, that is a whole other level.
You are not making any sense here  undecided you don't sound too informed yourself

Krayola:
I'm not asking you to do that (quote where i suggested that instead of making up stuff,  it just makes you look desperate),  i'm asking you to factor the other competitions because without them you only get a limited representation of the leagues and their respective strengths/weaknesses.
This is a simple debate that you are unnecessary trying to complicate by being abstract so how do we rate the best leagues in the world if not by how they perform at the highest level? Its like comparing an Olympic Champion to a Commonwealth games Champion

Krayola:
There is a reason why there is more than one competition. They measure different things. One measures the top teams in the league, the other, the not so strong yet competitive teams in the league. If you want to assess an entire league without considering all the variables, you are not being sincere.
I guess you mean the team that wins the UCL is by definition from the best league by virtue of their winning.
You are missing the point over and over again and its getting frustrating if you notice i always use the words recent when referring to the EPL's dominance of the UCL and no we are not saying it is the strongest because a team from the league won the UCL we say it is the strongest because it has produced the last 4 finalists and this is the 3rd straight year we are having 3 teams from the same league in one competition what part of that don't you understand?

At the moment you are unable to mention one league that is able to match the EPL's consistency in recent times in the UCL in any other European tournament so basically you are just arguing for the heck of it

Krayola:
Because based on your criteria, AC Milan is the strongest team in Europe because of their recent dominance,  which would make the Italian league the strongest league. But then I guess it won't matter who wins the competition,  just what league has more teams in the semifinals?  What you are saying pretty much is that the best league is the one that produces the best team.  You make little to no sense.
hahaha,  pointing out that the EPL has been a consistent FAILURE is not enough? Spain has won three of the last 5 Uefa cups,  Russia the other two. I think a little flattery might make you feel better so i guess i'll quote you on this one
You would not be too far from the truth if you said Ac Milan is one of the strongest teams in Europe their UCL record says it all now coming to the league Has the Serie A produced 4 straight Finalists and 3 straight semifinalists in the last consecutive seasons? I think you have typed enough nonsense for one day  grin  grin

Now you are making some progress by naming leagues i would eliminate Russia and leave Spain but their success in Europe's 2nd tier is still not enough in my books the UCL is the real McCoy

Krayola:
Over the last decade 4 CLs have gone to spain, 3 to England, 2 to Italy, and one to Germany.
England has been runners up 3 times, Spain twice, and Italy twice. Please please,  using facts and not ideology, explain this English dominance you insist on.

There is is no conclusive answer to that question. But EPL fans choose to ignore reality and claim some non existent crown. All the leagues have their strengths and weaknesses. England is fast paced and physical,  Spain has a lot of flair and individual brilliance,  Italians are very tactical and the Germans as well though more disciplined. Every league has their periods of dominance, but overall its all balanced. Get off your high horse, or stop regurgitating the stuff EPL commentators tell you on their commercials. Build your opinions based on facts and thorough analysis instead of blind sentiment.

If you bothered to look up any of that information we would not be having this debate. I'm done with this,  its a waste of my time.
Last decade?? why not last 100 years!! It seems you do not understand the meaning of recent maybe you skipped english language classes back in the day because if you didn't we would definitely not be having this argument maybe by this time next year when we have about 3 or 4 EPL teams in the semi's again that's when reality would sink in

I agree with you on that many leagues have had their periods of dominance and footie commentators with geometrically higher footie intelligence than you have concurred that its the EPL's time so keep up the hateration you won't get far with it

I reiterate though that based on the EPL's recent performance in Europe's biggest competition they are the best league in Europe

Intresting. One game its the Spurs, next the Mavs . . . this is anybody's series.

By the way, what did you think of Dampier's bounty threat on Tony Parker? cheesy
Well we would find out tomorrow, the truth is when we and the Spurs meet homecourt hardly matters we know each other so well so most times its the team that wants it more that wins ball games when we play but i am sure if we spoil Tim Duncan's birthday tomorrow with another win then the Spurs can go and rest their geriatric asses. In the West come playoff time there are really only two people that can beat San Antonio. . The Lakers and Los Mavs

I found it hilarious but apparently it seems the threat worked i have always complained about Dampier being a weakling but this time he is just a bully lol he should pick on players his own size but i have to give Carlisle props for some tactical genius he noticed Antoine Wright was slacking on Parker and started J.J Barea to handle Parker and it worked wonders

Nope,  but some qualify for the UEFA Cup too, which is a tournament as well,  right? where teams of the same stature in their respective leagues COMPETE for a trophy. They play games, the WINNERS advance, and the LOSERS go home. At the end the winner gets a TROPHY.
Funny how none of this means anything to you. No one is doubting the strength of the top 4 in England. But the EPL has 20 teams, and the rest of them have shown  beyond reasonable  doubt that they are below standard in Europe.

Only one English team has won it in the last decade.
Wait let me get this straight are you asking me to rate performances in Europe's 2nd tier competitions at par or even higher than the UCL? i have explained in clear terms why the UCL winners are referred to as the Champions of europe so why would i care if EPL teams are not doing well in the Uefa cup the most annoying part is you can't even point any league that is doing consistently well in that Uefa cup to compare with the EPL! y'all just feel the urge to argue out of bias

Why is the rest of Europe unable to match the EPL in Europe's top competition is what you should be answering

If the EPL is not the strongest please tell me who is stronger or is at least the next best thing to it

Krayola:
you do that by being intellectually honest (which you know u are not), and consider the other European competitions, including the just abolished intertoto cup (where the EPL is also a failure).

I guess we just have to agree to disagree on this. This looks like one of those debates that goes in circles endlessly.
The Intertoto cup? why not add Futsal to the list you people are just anti-premiership just admit it and lets keep it moving
We have given you stats of the Premiership teams in the UCL give me stats from other leagues in the Uefa Cup, Intertoto and even Krayola cup and lets compare their dominance of these competitions recently

Thats a terrible argument if I've ever seen one. You might wanna consider enrolling in a statistics course.

You are trying to measure the overall strength of a  league containing 20 teams, and you only include the 4 strongest in your analysis. How does that pass any mathematical or logical test?
Hahaha i am doing one right now but thats besides the point once again the terrible argument is from your corner and not mine can all 20 teams qualify for European competition or how on earth do we judge their strengths besides their performances in Europe

why we no go boooo?

who pays for a ticket to watch their team lose by 30pts. i turned the tv off by the 3rd quarter. D.Rose and Ben Gordon made me mad.

Rondo is a one trick pony, he can't keep this up.
Its crazy though especially when tickets go for like twice the price come playoff time

JeSoul:
I saw the score flash on the espn bottomline 70-36  shocked  smiley  the heck happened to the Spurs? was it a Mavs domination or the Spurs didn't show up?
It was a Mavs domination from start to finish they never led

JeSoul:
I hope haters like Bawo are now begining to recognize Rondo and give him credit. Dude is averaging 20pts 10rebs and 5asts this series all on 1 foot if I may add.
He has been massive in this series i agree and despite his frail stature and baby-like appearance he is a tough kid

JeSoul:
Rose has been irrelevant since game 1. Consistency, consistency, consistency! you cannot stress that enough but then again he's still just a  rookie and has much to learn and he can start by watching Rondo  cool
Welcome to the playoffs for Rose he is a rookie and would definitely learn that a great performance in one night is not enough

JeSoul:
That happens few times a yr for Kobe. That was truly atrocious. But I think we should give more credit to the Jazz. They came with waaay more intensity and passion than the lakers did. Even the fans were more into it than some of the laker players.
Yeah the Jazz did step up but the likes of Ariza,Bynum and Kobe really really played poorly

JeSoul:
Inexcusable. You cannot boo your own team in your own building, that's just wrong. Especially for the bulls who have even overacheived in this series, their fans should be cheering them no matter what . . . bunch of fairweather heads.
Lol blame it on the recession grin grin you know these playoff tickets cost a fortune

Anelka is a disgruntled ex how can his rants be taken serious? he had a chance to make Chelsea a bigger club than Arsenal in Moscow and he blew it! so he can eat a manliness with shyte on the tip

As for the Silvestre issue the ironic part is he had a solid game when United came to the Emirates and played arguably his best game for Arsenal so the truth is he might either be our saviour or doom us to defeat with his goofs i am not counting on the former based on his recent performances though and i would still hope for Djourou to be fit in time for the game against the Scummies

I tire for Rosicky please when is his contract expiring?

I think we should wrap Eduardo in cast or plastic he needs to be rested on Sunday abeg so he is fresh for the crunch game against the Scummies

They are the best league simply because they been consistently providing top performances in the UCL (Europe's premier competition) recently there is a reason why the winners of the UCL are called the champions of Europe and not the Uefa cup winners its so easy even a caveman can decipher this besides show me one league that has been performing consistently well in the Uefa cup that you could even use to compare to the EPL?The EPL is the best for now abeg

Now that's what i am talking about Los Mavs!!  grin grin holding the Spurs to their lowest post-season total the Spurs hopefully should be due for another roasting on Saturday gosh we should have finished higher if we played with this kind of intensity in the regular season especially defensively but ohh well its too late to cry over spilled milk

@Jesoul and Chi-chi
Congrats on yesterday y'all really cracked whips on Bawo's malu's it was an ugly sight  grin but mehn you guys have really suffered with injuries this season ooh even Rondo had to be carried to the locker room he was interviewed a little later and said he was ok but you wonder how much longer he can keep playing like that

The Lakers threw away their game in the most annoying fashion how could they possibly lose a 13 points lead in less than half a quarter? Kobe had a brickfest 4 of 23 shooting and Deron Williams killed it for the Jazz but i still don't see them winning this series

Papa Mutombo has finally retired!! gosh what was this dude waiting for?

I still think the Heat will win the series. This is the problem with Atlanta they are young and inconsistent. 1 night they look like studs, the next duds.

As for the Hornets, I don't think they ever really had a chance . . . they haven't been playing well leading up to the postseason, I didn't think they could just flip a switch and become who they were last year.
I won't give it to the Heat just yet they are very beatable at home they are a young team as well and also have their fair share of inconsistencies but if they are able to win both games at home then they just might be the favorites
