It is a taboo in Yoruba culture for a son to have a sexual relationship with his mother. So when I saw ur post above talking about a son inheriting his father's properties , wives and his own mother; I knew that is one strong misrepresentation of facts.

If the husband was a millionaire would she have called the police on him ?
She could have used the police to threatened him. Make him take an undertaking never to lay is Hands on her again.
She could have taken the children and move to her parents house pending on when the husband puts his life in order....
There are many effective ways She could have used to TEACH the husband a lesson. locking him up is not one of those ways unless she is no longer interested in the marriage... by locking him up she has unintentionally destroyed her home...
I can assure you the husband believes that his wife locked him up because he is jobless, broke and depressed and nothing you tell that man will change his mind. You can't imagine that level of resentment that man now have towards the wife...
As I said earlier by locking him up especially with his current financial and unemployment status, she has unintentionally destroyed her marriage. Nigeria is the only country a man will get away with this foolishness and you know it. If the husband was a millionaire you say? You've not heard of millionaires getting locked up? His millions make him above the law? Nothing like she could have, he could have not beaten her and smashed her phone. Try that suggestion. What type of drunkard is that? In my drinking days I used to throw up and sleep not beat people (assuming her story is true) Maybe the home is meant to be destroyed cos that is not a rational and logical man, remaining with him is probably not in her best interests anyway. That husband is a foolish man and we need to drop this he was broke, depressed angle. If he has resentment and not disgust at himself for the past two years he's failed his family then he's doomed and perhaps he should be left to his fate. |

Also it helped that I hate wasting money....can't be a good gambler if you're not comfortable with feeling like you're wasting money. You would bet like this when you're desperately in need of money. DeadPresidents: For me, the reason i quit gambling was very simple—in gambling you’re losing regardless of if you’re winning money or not.
How? Well, the time investment is the most expensive part of gambling. The time you devote to thinking about potential matches to bet on. The time you spend analyzing teams and making predictions. The time you spend watching games you have no business watching just because you bet on it. The time you spend coming down from the high of celebrating a win or to overcome depression from a loss.
Gambling is the biggest time thief. I figured out that if i used just 30 mins improving my coding skills everyday out of the time i was wasting gambling, i would make compounding gains and that was what i did.
My only regret is a nigga i knew who refused to stop and is currently 30+ with no plans of moving out of his uncle’s house while his juniors have started families and achieved success elsewhere This thing especially for people that play that demonic virtual. Baby soccer, Artisans and all blue collar workers. That time you will waste chasing losses. Using money for jobs and cooperative to play and digging financial holes everyday I always say. Don't rely on betting for income. It's very unlikely you spend that much time gambling when you have other financial sources. That time is the real problem. When you are not making money from elsewhere you will surely spend more time gambling |

Right now, we are still at the stage where some people are outrightly saying that the dude is innocent. So far as that stance stands, it means justice and fairness especially is still elusive. I guess this is where we are divergent In views since we both accept that domestic violence is unacceptable.
But to be very clear, let me ask you this question very clearly; From your own personal perception, do you believe that Greenwood did physically beat and assault his partner?? Do you think he was violent to her Ina my way? The problem is you're being emotional about this matter and that's why you lump everyone together. DissTroy: The lure of free money is a higher motivation to risk it all and damn the deterrents as Flutterwave proved until they were caught.
There's a loophole which can be exploited. You can register the company in the U.S. to get VC funding from VCs like Y Combinator, then register the parent company is some nontransparent haven like Panama or even Nigeria.
For example, say I am Tony Elumelu building a fintech SAAS and a startup around it. I can register the company name in the U.S. as, say, UBA. Once I get funding, I can register a parent company or holding company, say Heirs Holding, in Panama or Nigeria. Then siphon funds through Heirs Holding and it wouldn't be illegal. Even Y Combinator allows this.
Many of these fintech companies have parent companies in countries with nontransparent regulations.
OPAY, for example, has a parent company. Moniepoint has a parent company. These parent companies are mostly not accountable to most regulations.
Even the top tech news platforms laundering the images of these fintechs have parent companies or holding companies where the board is sketchy.
Tech Cabal, the biggest tech news platform in Nigeria and West Africa, has a parent company/holding company called "Big Cabal" and that's where the information trail stops.
It's deeper than you even realize. Wonderful. The more you look the less you see. Is Opay not Chinese? I don't really know much about Moniepoint but I know Opay has chinese connects |

In the eyes of the law and feminism you are right to have looked your jobless, broke and depressed husband but in the eyes of culture and religion you are extremely wrong....
Your husband is depressed, ashamed and angry with himself and life for his inability to get a job and provide for his family.
And instead of encouragement, understanding and patience, you decided to lock him up for two days as a result of his depressed outrage.
Did you report him to the family elders ?
Did you report to your pastor or any family members or family friends ?
You could have used the police to threatened him but instead you went for outright arrest.
There are more effective ways to handle such situations but I believe you wanted to prove your superiority over your husband as the Bread winner of the house. I am 100% sure your female friends suggested and encouraged you to go to such extreme....
One thing I can assure is that by locking him up in the worst stage of his life, you have succeeded in destroying your home and marriage. That man will never forgive such inhumane and disgraced treatment from his wife.... If her father was Commissioner of Police would he put a finger on her. Let's not defend nonsense please. DissTroy: Actually, African , SubSaharan Africa in general have that slight taint.
Another reason Y Combinator insists founders seeking to get VC funding must register their companies in the U.S. before Demo Day so they are subject to regulations.
Flutterwave was complicit too (mostly money laundering) between 2019 and 2022, but after they were fined heavily and severally in the U.S. and founders made to appear in court, they buckled up.
Other VCs like the Boabab Network don't insist on this so the companies escape regulations. And they are hawks too preying on founders with stringent conditions.
