Even for a world-class touchline winger, a long ball midfielder is required to make him play better. Talking of Sane, he was deployed many times on the right when he came into City newly but was quite horrible until Guardiola discovered his best role being a left touchline winger. I'm sure the Germany coach knows this but he can't seem to give up Muller/Reus/Draxler's left forward role to Sane, a left touchline winger. If I were him, I would go for a 352 setup with Sane as the left wingback, after all Germany don't even have a quality left back to begin with and Sane isn't a slouch when it comes to defending. As for Reus, he is even much more better as a SS. So everyone would get to play in their best position.

Müller and Draxler's continued inclusion in that German National team is one of the biggest problems. Löw must summon courage to drop both players, possibly Reus as well as he is always injured and move forward with a completely different footballing philosophy

Costa is popularly known and not a young player just plying his trade. Besides, there's nothing wrong with Costa. First, his team needs to give him the needed creativity which is more or less absent in that Atletico team or happened to be only centered around another goal scorer named Griezman.

They didn't have defensive midfielder such as Rodrigo, Saul in the midfield like Atletico has been doing with these players in their midfield.
